  • what an artist...so many great songs...just pure joy to watch...i think its so great that all these great clips are accessible to everyone.

  • Brilliant is the word that comes to mine on this video! Thank you for posting this. It takes me back to when I was 15 and just really discovering girls!

  • Didn't she write this song for Aretha? She and Aretha but nailed this song when they sing it.

  • She sings this song like it's part of her soul. Absolutely nails it.

  • Love this live!Wow!

  • Tapestry is the best period

  • Best

  • I miss the early 70's so much!!

  • @scdevon Me too..! Those times are so long gone......such a pity for so many lovers of true musical talent

  • comparing Urethra franklin to Carole King is like comparing a bed pan to the Pacific Ocean.

  • Amazing. I didn't know she wrote this. Just goes to show you what a Jewish woman can do. Much respect to Aretha for singing it just as beautiful

  • she is fabulous! She has written so many songs that have stood the test of time!

  • This is one unbelievably attractive lady...

  • Is that Barbara Streisand?

  • she is so amazinggg

  • am fed up of people saying that Aretha wrote this song! NO!!! a white woman sang and wrote it!!!

    beautiful

  • @beebscooke who cares that she's white?

  • I search a song which starts with " weekday morning ". The song is

about the monoton life of women.

  • Whatever happened to talent??

  • pure brilliance

  • Amazing historical record of genius. Thank you.

  • Anyone know what this particular performance was from? A concert? I'd love to have more of this.

  • So very special in itself, but when it's sent to you by someone you love it's extra special and means so much. Thank you SP

    MM x

  • Great song of your album "Tapestry" (1971), "(You Make Me Feel) Like a Natural Woman". Definitely, Carole King is the better songwriter of the music pop contemporary. "Tapestry" remains one of the best-loved albums in pop and rock history.

  • This was done 40 years ago.Yikes. Has there been a more beautiful, talented and passionate rock star than Carole King? I can't think of anybody that comes close. What a stunning performance.

  • Amazing to hear the song the way she wrote it, the way it was played out in her mind as she put her lyrics onto paper....the original version.

  • Just takes your breath away. Very, very rare that one can hear a song made famous by Aretha and feel another performer (in this case, the writer of the song) has brought something to it.

  • to my friends at F.F.C.H.S

  • whilst aretha franklin is such a natural talent and can therefore breeze through this song with ease - they sincerity and emotion in carole king's voice simply cannot be beaten - and as the writer of the song this is natural.

  • This performance is nigh on 40 years old and we are still raving about it. I guess real talent is timeless.

  • perfection

  • Listen Radio Música para Mimos (search in Google) The best songs of love

  • i love her voice! it's so unique and smooth and...just everything that's good in the world :)

  • That was amazing!

  • Doing this for my singing exam :S I sound like a strangled cat compare to carole king :/

  • Aretha franklin is beterr

    sorry

  • @WhitneyElizabethH No. You THINK Aretha Franklin is better.

  • love her voice!!! and amazing song writer as well!

  • I like how at 2:10 she moves her hair with her left hand and still is able to continue playing the piano beautifully without interruption!

  • absolutely amazing live singer......i could listen to her for hours

  • absolutely amazing live singer......i could listen to her for hours

  • Nice video, keep it coming. New release of BRANDON JAROD late OCT. AMAZING!

  • (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman - Carole King [New York City, New York] - 1971 - "...is a 1967 single released by American soul singer Aretha Franklin on the Atlantic label. The record was a big hit for Franklin, reaching number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and became a standard song for her." - Tapestry (Mlps) [Extra Tracks, Import, Limited Edition, Original Recording Remastered] (Sony Japan)-2007. NOTE: This Japanese Import is the BEST sounding version!

  • incredible!

  • wow!!!

  • Great job for her ,Carole wrote this song to Aretha Franklin in 1967 and she knew what this song is.

  • Comparing Britney Spears with Carole King is like comparing a shallow pan of water to a great and deep ocean.

  • @swampzoid comparing Briney Spears with Carole King is like comparing Meat Loaf to Prime Rib

  • @swampzoid absolutely agree, even more. Carole is music from heavens, Britney, well, sounds so empty...

  • @swampzoid who fucking compared Spears to King? WTF are they deaf? or out of their mind? Carol king has songs that transformed the music landscape forever and also her songs are legendary in movies!!!!! OMG please no more dumbshits talking out of their ass! i understand the king to GAGA comparison some what but Spears to King comparison is ridiculous!

  • Aretha Franklin dose it better , still good though.

  • i love this song.....

  • schön,beautiful !!

  • She's amazing! I agree, i like the way carol sings it better.. not that aretha didnt sing it well.

  • Great voice and pianist too!

  • No disrespect to Aretha....Carole King gives this song much more depth.

  • King wrote her songs...britney has, as well, a great voice...diff critters...diff times. Both have a lot to offer. However, no CK, no Britney.

  • What a beautiful woman!

  • I just saw Carole King and James Taylor in concert last night. Carole was AMAZING! Her singing this song was THE BEST part of the concert!

  • god, she's great

  • Unforgettable song and a wonderfull woman singer.

    Great 'live' version, thank-you kk99ll !

  • She has Rachel Barry's nose.

  • Carol, I didn`t know any woman who i so authentic and powerful singer and piano-player. you make me feel wondering...

  • this song is magical, especially this version ...

  • She wrote this one together with her up-until-then husband and co-composer Gerry Goffin for Aretha Franklin when the latter was at her very best and did a killer hit out of it in 1967 - but GOD, this is truly a great version as well!!

  • This is Carole at her very best!! Her "Live At Carnegie Hall" album from this year is an absolute masterpiece.

  • gotta have this. where did you get this? is this the BBC thing? what a fucking treat. thanx

  • carol is a bright musician and talent singer

  • Simply one of the best artists of all time...

  • one of the great songwriters and so beautiful on this clip,im in love

  • In a world that's full of hyperbole, there's still just one word to describe this.

    Stunning.

  • She's written so many great songs.

And Iove how she's aged. She looks really contented.

  • timeless x

  • I love her voice. Thanks.

  • blessed x

  • Brilliant ;)

  • Unreal talent in this woman. One of the all time great song writers.

  • So true. I'd put Joni in with her.

    2 of a kind.....genius oure and simple.

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Natural Woman

  • I was at this concert, she was prego at the time if I recall.

  • all I can say is thanks xx

  • If possible her voice today is even better than the early days.....

    Flavio

  • were as she go?

  • DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!

Look and listen again starting at about 2:19. It's like the Deli scene in "When Harry Meet Sally".

    I'll have what she's having!!!

  • If you like shouting out a tender love song then I guess Aretha's version is for you. Me, I love the tehderness Carole King brings to it.

  • Bre Howard? Is that back-up singer with Carole. I don't know how to spell it.

  • she looks like esme from twilight

  • takes me back........love it!!!

  • But she is so beautiful!

  • Bravissima, Wonderful Carol King!!

  • 何度聴いてもすばらしい曲です。

  • i needed to hear this. Carol brings me alive with her beautiful voice. Thank you!

  • gods been good to carol....)

  • one of the best and beautifal voices ive ever heard.

  • listen to polly harvey's last album lots of piano going there and a classic album for sure. get yourself a record player and buy it on vinyl...

  • i would do her.

  • i hope not but you never now gif sum concerts with cat stevens lol

  • So great to see this! We've pretty much lost the piano today in pop music. Laura Nyro also recorded this tune and was also a songwriting/piano playing great singer and musician.

  • She is in Songwriter's Hall of Fame and no one deserves it more.

She deserves Rock and Roll Hall of Fame too but I doubt she is in it, just guessing.

  • @robertlaf She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with her ex-husband Gerry Goffin in 1990. Incredibly, her induction category was "non-performer". (I would hope that she eventually joins the ranks of multiple inductees like Neil Young, Eric Clapton, etc..) This year she inducted fellow Brill Building songwriters Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.

  • holy shit she is!

  • Holy shit she's great.

  • Oooooo....goose bumps watching this.

Food for eyes , ears and soul.

  • This Goddess has no peers (100 hit records at least, mostly for others), though she did usually have a lyricist co writer-Goffin, Stern, etc, and her voice actually improved after her exile, she had some tragedy to deal with and got over her stage fright, and became as good a singer as a songwriter, saw her 3 years ago, almost too good to believe, better than most artists despite her 60 some years of age, and way better than this younger tentative Carole Klein in this vid.

  • OMG i totally love carol king and the entire " tapestry " album ... aretha's aright, but this song belongs to carol ...

  • uh, no.

  • Woah,

Compare this to other recordings during that year! I thought it was the technology. But WOW! Carole King really has the perfect depth of a songwriter, singing her OWN original - with perfect intonation, demeanor, and musical artistry. This is a wow. You go Ms. King. ROCK-ON!

  • just amazing.

    she just has "it~

  • fantastic, the way she sings, plays, looks like..

  • lovely lips...Im just an Admirer of lips and eye brows...lol

  • amazing ... true music for the ones who know to apreciate it

  • the reward for top artists like her is that young kids today, also appreciate and regocnize a real artist. a powerful, beautiful voice, singing these fantastic words written by herself. a great musician, something we lack in these days are pure artists like her. Just imagine that this is a live performance without any technical filling inns etc. Who would be able to do this today?? Thanks for this video and bringing back so many good sounds.

  • amen, who could ever get tired of this woman. She has that wonder voice thats a cross between Janis Joplin and rod stewart! love that husky shit!

  • i love carole king.

    my absolute inspiration.

thanks for posting this, it means alot.

im 15, and i was defiently born in the wrong generation for music. haha

  • Carole King is what the people at "American Idol" dream of finding.

    A great musician.

  • i think she's much better than britney spears ever was!!!

  • @Kaddyschatzi So sad to hear that comparison.

  • @Kaddyschatzi Can't even compare. Carol king is a sing and song writer. Britney Spears is a commercial product created by the music industri. Other people write her songs.

  • @TinyArts ya but can't you also say that britney can do things that carole can't do? I think they're both huge markers in the industry, for different reasons yes but both huge markers nonetheless.

  • @Kaddyschatzi Understatement of the century.

  • @Kaddyschatzi haha! Is this a joke? Or just a mention of the obvious?

  • Who is Beyonce?!? THIS is the stuff of legend... not "Beyonce" or Britney-weirdgirl-Spears

  • Absolutely! This woman has talent in her heart and soul, and such grace. She's a true gem. The others are rhinestones :)

  • I think that after the seventies there was a cleaned up of culture in every sense.

  • Excuse the profanity and possibly interpreted crudeness, but as I just watched this video the first words that came to mind were, "Holy Fuck Shit." There is not one female or male popular musical artist in the last 40 years that comes even close to the talent and musical sincerity of Carol King. Bar None. Cher, Madonna, Celine Dion and a host of others are mere "bar acts" compared to King. If there was ever an American Idol winner with half the talent of Carol King, it might be worth watching.

  • Toto:

And she plays a mean the fu**ing piano on top of all that!!!

  • Female ? Indeed, she is Mount Rushmore, but with her at the top of rock era writer/singer/players is Paul, Marvin, Stevie, Billy Joel, a few others, as far as exelling at all three for a long period. That's leaving out all the great writers who were not also great singers/players or ones that had short peroids of brilliance. But please: you can come up with better examples for women than Madonna and Celine, ouch !

  • I totally agree with you...before i read your phrase i was just thinking what you said.

  • Danm right.

  • Carole King is a musical genius and legend. PERIOD! She was one of the pioneers that helped paved the way to today's singer/songwriters.

  • awesome!

  • she's a great song writer ..and sexy woman too

  • She looks mighty cute in this video.

  • 若いですねー。でも完璧!

  • DAMN that was awesome

  • She has great DSL'S

  • singer ? great, songwriter- NO ONE CAN TOUCH HER

  • OMG! Watching her spill this out....goosebumps.....Bravo!

  • top performance very inspireing!

  • thank you

  • Carole's song & the Best, so soulful. - Penny

  • To call someone who had an album at number 1 for 15 weeks and in the charts for more than 6 years a loser, says much more about the commentator than the singer commentated on.

  • you said it,she was awesome. American idol ,ya see where some of those people are in a couple years

  • That twit called Carol loser and threw in an American Idol comment in as well??Bwahahahaha..that's funny.I think we know who the real loser is.

  • He's kidding, I think.

  • let's hope so

  • It's called "music education" get some

Carol King is one of the most celebrated and beloved song writer/singers in the history of contemporary Rock and Roll music.

  • How stupid can you be??

To be a singer you have to SING, not to dance. All those pop stars can't sing, they just lip-sync to a recording. Carole king is one of the greatest singers in history. Obviously you don't know what you're talking about

  • maybe she doesnt dance, but who needs to dance when you're one of the BEST SONGWRITERS IN THE WORLD? edhallick, i stongly suggest you take your pop culture plastic manufactured miracle shit point of view and stick it so far up the area where the sun don't shine, it chokes you. good day, you horrible cunt

  • Great DSL,S!

  • She was a hottie and I was in high school when she came out with Tapestry, that album was and still is so very good.

  • One of my all time favorite.

  • ...goodG-d, she's beautiful.

  • Briiliant!

  • does anyone have the song eagle of carole king?

i really need it, if you have it, can you send me via msn?

  • Greatest songwriter of this generation. She wrote for everyone, and performed herself. A true genius!

  • I agree 100%!!!!!!

  • i love this woman, aretha did a nice job, but this is the real thing !

  • Aretha Franklin's version is pretty awesome as well -

  • An absolute gem/classicviseo of the one of the greatest female talents of all time! A beautiful song sung the way it was meant to be, not screamed!

  • Wow.. She's the one.. Thanks...

Does anybody has "So far Way", recorded in 1971 as well?

  • I love this song.Amazing voice.Thanks for posting.One of my favorite singers.
