  • beautiful :)

  • Way better than mine.

  • not very realistic but god dam that lookes awesome love how the shadows turned out. im starting to get back into 3d animation and special effects after about 4 years and i like your work

  • Can you please make a tutorial?

  • @yoshiwako I just might man, I've been getting several questions and a couple of tutorial requests so I think i might give it a go.

  • @JoaoYates Nice. Add me to the people who request this. And by the way, be sure to send the tutorial to BlenderNation!!!

  • Great work!!!

  • How do you make the little red ball just fly along like that?

  • @jerrysmcnuggets Thanks for the comment man! Its a projectile, it comes with the addon. Or if you know about game logic, you can add an always logic brick attached to a motion one and just set the 'Loc' on Y or X axis to some value above 0. I hope this helps somehow, if not just send me another message and I'll explain further over an email or something, or just send you a .blend. ;)

  • @JoaoYates Cool. Thanks a lot. I'll try that.

  • @JoaoYates How does the projectile work? I'd like to become familiar with this and may need a couple of follow up questions?

  • @JoaoYates actually I figured out how to use the projectile but what If i want the cube to stay in one piece until it is hit? like in your video? I made a cube. added fracture object so its in 50 shards, then added a projectile and edited the velocity in the logic editor. what do i change?

  • @ninelivestarzan You have to add logic bricks to have the dynamics suspended and then restore the dynamics under collision. I'll send you a link with a tutorial someone made on that, I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!

  • @stulleman & @JoaoYates : Well the reason the it generally explodes is that the rigidbody collision bounds used by the fracture tool intersect each other if if they are to close together, so they want to move away from each other which is where the exploding thing happens. If you made the collision bounds smaller (The dashed circles around the fracture piceses) then, in theory, it would not explode.

  • =O

  • POW!

  • You can't do an animation where the shatters don't explode right? It's a bug from this addon, because even if nothing flys through the cube they will fly in the air. Maybe you know a fix, and maybe you could advise me then ;)

  • @stulleman Thanks for the comment. What you are talking about isn't a bug. The addon really only pre-fractures the object, it's the GE that's responsable for the physics, and yes there is a way to suspend the physics until another object collides onto it. I'll try to make a tutorial explaining that when i have the time.

  • @JoaoYates Oh yes of course its a bug from the GE ;) And I know how to supend the physics until it collides with something, anyway when I try to simulate an impact the physics is wrong because it kind of explodes.

  • @stulleman That might be related to the speed of the projectile you are firing or the mass, I`m not sure, if you want you can send me a sample test .blend file and I can look over it. If not I just moved and am still settling in, but as soon as I have the time I`ll try to have a tutorial/explanation on it. Thanks again for your comments!

  • @JoaoYates no it isnt a bug guys ^^ there is a way to make the cube just shatter without exploding, of course you could suspend it but i guess it was something with the collision settings you have to play around with them and after a while you'll see why it "explodes"
