I used an even older technology to view this... I can easily view cross eye 3d. but decided to take it one step further and viewed it with a 1908 stereoscope with the bar removed.. the separation bar in the middle makes all the difference.. no annoying first and second images distract from the 3d

Trick to make it easier for anyone having trouble making this work. Focus on your finger and make sure you don't see two images of your finger. When your finger is the right distance from your face, you should see three frames with the movie. The middle one will have the 3d effect, and it will definetly be 3d. Once you get your eyes to relax, you can actually move them and still keep the same focus and still see the 3d effect.

On my 23" monitor, I sit about 3' away, and hold both hands about 8" from my eyes, and apart about 6" so each eye picks up the correct side of the stereoscopic, but not the incorrect side. Then I see just one 3D image - centered on the monitor. It mimics the old-time stereoscopic viewers my folks had!

Method of watching

Play the video

Put your hands in front of your eyes about 9 inches

Look at the center of you left OR right hand

Move your eye focus to the corner of the hand towards video

While watching the corner of the hand, some of video will be visible in background

In background, instead of 2 screen, you may be seeing 3 screen

Move your hands to eliminate 2 screen on the left & right, so that only center screen is visible

Now slowly move your eye focus to center screen & enjoy 3D :)

You're correct that the right image is on the left and the left image is on the right.

But this is what is needed to see the movie using the cross eyed method.

If you are able to see 3D when you have swapped the left-right images back again, then you are not viewing it using the cross eye method, you are viewing it using the parallel view method

Try this: pause the video at any point, the copy the screen (screenshot) and paste it in a Photoshop-like application. There switch both images, cross your eyes and you'll see it in real 3D. This video as it is, closer objects look far away and viceversa. It is not correct.

How to see this 3D ? Don't look at the screen. Press play and look outside the window, to a spot far away in the horizon, miles away. After a while, look again at the screen and you'll see 3 pictures, the one in the center is 3D. If it starts to split into 2 pictures (making 4 total), look again outside, to the horizon and repeat. Btw, the 3D in this movie is not great. There are better around here.
