@JimTL1000R 5.56x45mm shoots the same "Flat" .. good volocity. The bullet weight will be a big problem . Wind will have it' sway with the .22 cal. but .. a hit is a hit. That would be fun to go 1000 with a 5.56.Will not be easy.. I hope you post it , when you do.
You're wasting your time with 5.56. If it was meant for more than 600 yds. The Military would have IT as sniper rifles. If you want to go for 1000 yds my personal favorite it .300 WSM with boat tailed hollow point Sierras
@JimTL1000R a 5.56 will work with special vld type bullets of 80 grs wt. one of the favorite cartridges for NRA Long range right now is of course the 6.5x284.
Judging by the amount of grains your bullet weighs and the amount of grains you charge is, I guessing its 308Win that you are shooting?? Correct me if I'm wrong. Nice group.
@JimTL1000R 5.56 is to light for 1000 yards, the bullet is too light any bit of wind and ull be so far off target. i recomend 7mm rem mag, 300 win mag or .338 lapoua with 175 grain bullet and up
im sure you can use the 5.56 but i have not seen many people use it. you should probably be using 7.62 or .308, .300, or even .338 lapua but the last one i think is expensive.
@Alexx1792 i have shot 300 now i am at 308.... this sport is very expensive....you have to reload ......after i shoot a 1000 rounds through my barrel..... its done.......my barrel wear cost is about .75 a shot.
