This hymn came into my head in the middle of the night, from my 50-plus years ago Presbyterian home church. Thanks for posting the words, and the tune that I remembered with it.
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (August 22), I played this as our opening hymn. However, it was to the tune, ELLACOMBE, an 18th Century German melody, adapted by X.L. Hartig, Melodien zum Mainzer Gesangbuche, 1833. It is #521 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
