This has 2 possible interpretations: the first one - Kain was jealous on Raziel like Cain was jealous on his brother Abel and for that he killed him and the second one - Raziel tried to surpass his master and he fell for grace like Lucifer did after he had tried to surpass God Himself.

He realised that if he wanted to maintain his rule in light of Raziel surpassing him in vampyric evolution, it was essential that he dispose of him, and also to make an example of him. How would it look to his subjects if the King wasn't the strongest vampire and one of his lieutenants was? What would his subjects think if he'd spared Raziel?It would have been a sign of weakness and would have been the begining of the end for Kain.

His rule was such that it relied on fear and strength in order to keep his kingdom under control. Thus killing Raziel the way he did was the smartest move Kain could have made as it meant he was again the strongest, most evolved vampire and the harsh punishment visited on Raziel would discourage any one from even thinking about challenging Kain's rule in future.

They should make a soul reaver trilogy film that explains the whole story of Kain and Raziel, that would be cool. well considering the extentsive list of crucial characters they might have to make a double trilogy like star wars.

The timeline is BO1 then SR then SR2 then defiance, blood omen two is just an alternative story after BO1 hence why Vorador is also alive in the second BO game, he was exicuted in the first Kain destryoyed Raziel's vampire form cos he thought Raziel was the Sarafan Lord cos of his wings ( Anciant vampires had wings, Janos was the last to have them ) and also Kain is a vicous jelous cunt :D he owns

It is coming. Crystal Dynamics has not abandoned this godlike franchise. It might not come during GDC, maybe not next month, but someday Kain shall return, and maybe, just maybe, Raziel might return. It'd take a relentless fight, an unimaginable power, and god knows what else, but it might just serve to divert destiny to the way it should actually be, regardless of the sickeningly-ordered physics of Nosgoth's stream of time.

If you notice at 2:05 you can see Raziel hissing a little bit at Kain for touching his wings which were sensetive then at 2:13 also.You then somehow knew his wings were just made about a day or two ago.

No, he was pretty clear about what would happen when he threw him in. He knew EVERYTHING that happened during the Soul Reaver games, those where all planned out by him. But in

LoK: Defiance things turned out in a way he hadn't forseen. Yet the game ended with cliff hanger, that's why I'm hoping they'll make a new one soon!

Overall Kain was actually a good guy, he was just trying to fight his own fate, and in the end succeeded with Raziels help.

yeah Kain isnt really evil but it certainly looks like it in this video, i mean the guy is actually upset in defiance when he stabs Raziel with the reaver also in the entire course of the series he never lies. BO2 i found was just the best vampire game ever, you may have thought it the worst, it was the best for me.

Right just to settle an argument that's going on here, the whole story was a huge manipulation by the elder god so that he could feed. He had the vampires destroy the hylden so that he could feed on the souls of the unbelievers, then when the hylden cursed the vampires with immortality it buggered up the elders plan because they couldn't hear him anymore, so instead he got the humans to kill the vampires so that he could feed on them instead. It was all the elder god fucking with everyone.

Yes, I think you've got it. The interesting thing is that Raziel's moving back and forth in time, which means when he goes back and ends the series in Defiance, time has now changed, but Raziel now lives in the Reaver.

The thing was that Raziel always ended up inside the reaver, it's just that now he is accepting his fate instead of fighting it. Therefore he has made the blood reaver into the spirit reaver, instead of the soul reaver. It is this way because it now bears the collective souls of all the guardians of the pillars of nosgoth. Thereby when Kain acquired this he finally saw the Elder God for the true enemy, not the Hylden, but instead this manipulator.

He killed Raziel out of jealousy only to find out later he was meant to kill him. At the beginning of SR2 he tells raziel how he found the time streaming chamber and found out about the past and future. At the pillars in SR2 Kain told Raziel he knew how their story end and that he and Raziel must rewrite their endings. Once you play up till Defiance, it will come full circle of who Raziel really is and why the Soul Reaver plays such a big part in his life.

Kain killed Raziel out of jealousy. He does not find out that Raziel was to kill him till he found the time streaming chamber. In part 2 when he meets Raziel by Williams grave, he tell Raziel that they always meet there and he was destined to kill Kain there but he choose not to and even though history change, it still came back full circle again when Raziel kills him there in Defiance.

Yes that was part of the paradox which the Hildens did not caculated on. Kains entire destiny was expertly caculated by the Hildens to release the Hildens back into the world. This is why the story is not complete. What happens now that Kain is now the true Scion of Balance now and we all know now that the Pillars does belong to the Vampire Race. Does he restore the Pillars and Nosgoth for the Vampires and cure their bloodthurst? Many question to be answered and good for another LOK game!
