Im pretending mr.duncan's accent and I seem to be as him...Im following his lessons with a great pleasure even I dont know English very well. Thanks for your helping.you are my best teacher on the planet :)) ta-ta for now ...
good afternoon Misterduncan, i come from vietnam, i ever learn english from many books and video tapes but your teaching english ways is impress me and it helps and support me so much, thank Duncan
@tinhvan1 Small-talk in Vietnamese can be "trò chuyện". It's varied from place to place and undoubtedly you can say "tôi trò chuyện cùng một chú trên xe buýt". However, when you're studying English, as much as possible try to avoid comparing or distinguishing it from your own language because somehow they mean differently.
Hahahahaha, I like watching your videos, not because I need to learn English, but because of moments like at the end.... You've gotta love a good South Park reference.... Well, I guess thats some slang you didn't cover, but I suppose everyone will learn it at one point or another in their life...and we all use it wether we realize it or not. Well, thanks again for posting these videos, it's very courageous of you
Dear Mr. Duncan, I would love to chat with you, the thing is that, I really need to learn small-talk conversations, idioms and also some slang. Please keep posting these kind of lessons. It really helps me.
I loved all de lesson until here... I haved all day on , in listen and whacting you.. this are wandefull... day by day I learnig more and more.. thanks for now.. see ya
This is the only lesson I've watched (just kind of stumbled upon you) and I'm a native English speaker (American). One critique I'd like to throw your way (use it or not, but it might help you out).
The phrasing here is different. "Is your family keeping well" would be said, "How's your family (doing)?"; "How's your sister getting along..." said, "How's your sister liking (doing in)...".
The opening of this lesson is based on one of the regular sketches he did. Yes he is one of my influences. I watched him on TV as a child. His work left a deep impression on me. Especially the technical stuff with the video effects.
HI mr, I'm a student from Chile who is studying this part of the oral communication, Thanks for you video, it's very clear and specific for someone who is learning. I would like to know if you have written some interesting article that I can read.
Hey i have a question! Do you in say nice to meet you or does it sound too american? i mean is it common to say it when you meet someone new or also in the end of a small talk or?
Hi, Mr,Duncun thanks for your lessons and I have a request to you that please explain the meaning of some hard words which you using during your talk. that's all....
Srsly tho, I've never heard ANYONE say "is your family keeping well". I've lived in the UK and Canada. Meh, I'm just picking a fight whilst bored. Cheers, Duncan.
Good! Remember to put a space after a period. Instead of saying "is it correct?", you should say "how's my English?" or "Is my English OK?". For the last part, you should say "Thanks from Algeria!". That sounds more like "native" English. Otherwise, your English is quite good :).
