He was the guest soloist at out high school spring concert in 1967. As a trumpet player, it was a real thrill and a challenge for all of us in the band. Still have the recording of that concert which has been turned into mp3 format.
This man is one of the reasons that i pick up a trumpet. I wanted to be this man. but lets face it that man rocks and is hard to even hold a candle to him. im still going to try.

Awesome player - and he is 80+++!!!! Saw him live two years ago at Carnegie Hall - mind boggling what he played with the NY Pops for XMAS concert.
