I also noticed they are slightly out of pitch, which is sometime very painful, but what's wrong with that? At the first place, they are not performing opera. Most of the listeners out there don't have operatic knowledge, didn't notice the difference, don't care about A440 or sth like that. As @amirtoma said, what they want is "soft beautiful voice full of genuinity and love and sincerity." They're just listening to poppera, performed by singers with touching stories and voices.

Potts is like 1st gear for to the world towards opera. Since most of the world is unaquainted with true opera, he sounds great. I am glad that he has started movement (in 1st gear) at least in those who normally would never give opera a chance. In time, they will understand this, & paul will remain dear to them....like your 1st love, but certainly not the last & most meaningful. he is not negetive in anyway, rather a much needed spark for opera.

For those of you guys saying they're lip-synching this, IT'S A VIRTUAL DUET, meaning the author merged two CD-quality tracks from different people that sing the same song. The video is just stock footage.

That being said, the piece is just beautiful. It takes talent to bring such a remarkable song as this to life. Both Brightman and Pitts are amazing in their respecitve ways, and I tip my hat to them.

I happened to come across Paul Potts Videos as a result of following the Britian Has Talent posts of Susan Boyle.

I've never had any interest in opera at all but find Paul's voice beautiful. I have spent two days listening to him, Pavarotti, and others.

I don't see why if people find his voice inspring - that isn't good enough.

Thanks to Paul, Susan, and other for being courageous enough to stand up and share your gift with the world.
