I always thought it sucked for them that they had to look at the map upside down. With only a little over 5 seconds to run to the country, place the item on the country, and run back... you would think they would at least get to set the map right-side-up.
I understand the camera situation wouldn't 'capture' as much by looking at their backs so much, but they could've still cut to a second camera that would be facing them.
They used to have it at 60 seconds, but for some reason, after 2 or 3 times with that format, they changed it to 45. But they should've also kept the rule of 7 rather than change it to 8.
One of my favorite shows of all time! Carmen Sandiego and another show on PBS called "Square One TV" were my life after school until I was 7. Never mind Carmen though, where in the world is Greg Lee? I wonder whatever became of him.
I guess two heads aren't better than one; sometimes even with a partner you can't succeed. This has been a great show; no drastic changes were made to accomodate celebrities. Everything worked out for a big 5 stars.
I remember this show... it was a good time to kill some time. But i like that cartoon series better, that only good thing was that singing. Who has more information about that movie....i kinda wanna see it.
when i was in grade three (last year) i watched the carmen sandiego movies at lunch and you know what, i hated it. it sucked because it was so horrible
I LOVED this show when I was a kid... it was great watching this clip and bringing back those old memories! I'd forgotten about "Double Trouble" and Carmen's other henchmen...
We need to get this show revived. But faithfuly, no ruining it by modernizing it. IE, Rockapella will have to remove the mullets and the maps will be brought up to date. Everything else should stay the same!
in 7th grade class the people who caught the most crooks on computer took a 50 question test. the best scorers went to auditons. that was like teamwork skills and geography culture questions. in the studio i was still studying a map of africa. just happened to be my final round challenge. i just made it on the last second. thank you to my challengers!
haha awesome! You are a party of my nostalgic childhood history! I watched this show religiously as a kid everyday after school at like 5 o'clock on PBS!
yeah, i cant remember which crook i caught because they did like three shows that day in the studio im getting hooked up with dvd now i got in contact with someone who might have it recorded. ill post how i got on the show later its not rigged
i was on the show sometime in 91 or 92 and won on africa. everyone on theh show is nice. im looking for a copy of the show i was on any help out there i would appreciate
lol I swear NO ONE ever one that last game. It was totally set up for the players to lose. I saw one kid make it close... but the host freaking stalled so that the kid wouldn't have enough time.
Oh well thanks for narrowing it down some Chief! Mind if I take the company Concorde as I traverse 2/3 of the Eastern fuckin' hemisphere? I'll take a quick peak thru former-Soviet Russia before a light ginger scamp into North Vietnam. Probably some realy cooperative governments in those parts too.
this is the most hilariously inappropriate youtube comment ever to be left under a clip of a children's game show .. and thanks to you i just spit lemonade all over my keyboard thx :p

Pardon me if you guys know something I don't, but if someone has the beginning and the ending to an episode, why can't the entire episode be uploaded? Or, if it does exist in its entirety somewhere, would it be possible to learn where it might be?
I'm actually trying to write a short video script based on the show, and the more "resources" I have available to me, the better... thank you so much!
I don't know who Walter is either, but it must have been the guy who pushed that TV up from down below or some kind of studio rigging (or missed the cue from the Chief knocking on the screen--or maybe it was all planned like that for comedic effect).
