"Grand Mufti reverend"? I remember that Jackie Kelly was invited to speak at a luncheon organised by the wealthy Pakistani community in Glenmore Park, and she gave a speech declaring her respect for the Pakistani and Muslim communities and their contribution to the community. She endorsed Karen Chijoff, who came along and said NOTHING. Not a word. She just let Jackie introduce and praise her. Absolutely bizarre.
The Liberals have tried to claim it has nothing to do with them, but John Howard set the example with children overboard - he thinks its acceptable to portray racial minorities as monsters in order to win elections.
They can't even run a campaign properly, how can they run a 1.1 billion dollar economy? I would say 'vote Labor', but Australia already has.
She was a hopeless minister, even for such soft portfolios. Howard couldn't keep her on the front bench for the Government's third term; after the 2001 election he took away her ministry but gave her a consolation prize and made her his parliamentary secretary. After the 2004 election, Kelly gave up that gig too and returned to the back bench.
The part about Labor letting in Sheik al-Hilaly is true
