It would be awesome for him to tune down, but it is very impractical because of the equipment needed to run his sound. He would get burried in alot of places.

@Ragnarockalypse Yeah. Just look at Acacia Strain's bassist in drop-F. There have been jazz bassists playing in subcontra tunings for decades. EADG an octave below and lower.
To my surprise, this wound up being my favorite song of the whole night (I'm more of a Pravus evangelist). They stayed in the pocket and just KILLT IT! Even heavier than on the album. It was just beautiful. Thanks for the clip. :-)

Oh yes. Albeit the eightstring is tuned to the same pitch, you hear the bass very well, even through this low quality recording.
I wish Dick didn't tune his bass up to F, but went an octave down from this.
