Just want to give a tip of the hat to Joe Rollino who was tragically killed by a van in Brooklyn this week. Joe's not in the trailer, but he does make an appearance in the film. I will post a short clip in the next day.
I read in NY Times that Joe Rollino didn't eat meat, so essentially he was vegetarian? If so I wonder how much that contributed to his strength and longevity.
I don't know-- it's a good question. Stan, the star of Strongman, is a vegetarian too, and he' even stronger than Joe was, so clearly you don't need to eat meat to be strong. And It would be hard to beat Joe for longevity.
I have read some very old books about some people who even further enhances their strength/longevity by not eating meat or milk. the meat and milk apparently ultimately cause degeneration of the bones, cartilage and tendons, all of which are critical for a strongman,
When I first stopped eating meet 2005 it gave a big bust to my training and strenghth. Today I'm the lightweight world-record holder in log-lifting and German vice champion in strongman.
