but burma is DESPARATE for democracy now more than ever. people want to make decisions and be in control of their own lives in their own countries. they are not doing it cos they want the US govt or UN or any other government to give them ur tax money in form of aid. they doing it cos they want freedom,justice --> a good life like you. they just want ur support cos money wont solve this country's problem, only political reforms.

i think that ur problem is that u r not happy that u have to pay tax. no matter how ur tax money is used by ur government, u still wont like it cos u just dont want them taking away ur money. u r not alone in this.

if u look at southeast asia nations around 1950s and 1960s, they were newly independent, not sure which way to go with the cold war. some nations like singapore, thailand has chosen the right path unlike burma, cambodia and laos. burma was fully democratic nations for 2 years before the democratically elected president was overthrown by Ne Win.

i m a burmese citizen. i know that the govt is shit and the roads, the cities might not be like tokyo or paris. but calling us communist is just a slap in the face. i am all for democracy and many others. that's why thousands of people would march in the streets knowing that they might most likely get killed or arrested and tortured.but in the name of democracy, they did anyway.

FYI, burma has 89% buddhists, 4%christians, 4% muslims. i hope u'd learn the facts.
