  • lineman for life

  • I have some neat books that date back to the 1800s-1960, and one has a whole chapter on outfitting a cross country line crew circa 1930. It is essentially the same a building any endeavor where some permanent structure runs from A to B. Tents, folding tables, grub boxes, tool boxes, cots, etc, all to be packed out on animals. 3rd world countries have provided me with pics of guys packing cable on their backs into the jungle. 8 coils & loop to the next guy, and who knows how many men in line. .

  • God I love this! I have pictures of my great uncle running cross country in the 1920s in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, etc. They used mules. I have one with him wearing his belt, climbing spikes, and an erection wrench way out in the Red Wood Forests of California standing next to a pack horse. Now we get in climate controlled cab of an Oshkosh 6X and drive out. These guys were staying in tents. Good choice of music and great old photos. Thanks! IBEW LUs 679,113,12,111,etc.

  • Gives prospective of how hard folks had to work back in them days to get the job done compared to nowadays.
