Oh my god that last bridge was amazing! we have to build a bridge out of pasta and it's due next week. Ah! I honestly had no idea what to do until I saw this video! Wondering did you put any spaghetti inside the tube like pasta? Or where they just glued together hallow?
I'm doing a spaghetti bridge for final year of physics at school, has to weight 4.9N at max, 5cm wide, 7cm long using only san remo thick spaghetti..... got any advice?
@CrazyVT22 did you do anything to the spaghetti beforehand? like dip it in glue or something? because i'm supposed to make a bridge out of 45 grams of spaghetti only and i don't know what to do. *tear* i need help :'(
too late; I did the assignment months ago, and because som1 decided to boil and braid the pasta into rope and forgot to consider that it would cause airspace to form between the pasta, the design held several times less than expected; but maybe your bridge design can save my bro when HE has to do this =D
We, hungarians lead in the official spaghetthi bridge contest always, I go to the college (Budapest College of Engineering) where they built the best spaghetti bridges they wont the Canadian contest in the last seven years
I'm having a contest at my school and I was wondering which do you think would work better larger fatter but fewer trusses. Or a whole lot of tiny little ones. I see the differences in the last and second last but I am still not sure.
it makes no sense to me that people will have this 'competition' but not follow the rules... or place the load on the loadbearing surface of the bridge. this competition was a sham. they can't weigh more than .75 kilos, and must have a loadbearing surface on the bottom, in the middle, with a u-bolt, how many bridges carry their load on the top center of the support structure?
how much weight did the last bridge hold because i am a spaghetti bridge competitor and my teamates and i built a bridge that held 140 lbs. it was made out of 2 lbs of spaghetti and 15 hot glue sticks.

I;ve got to do this also for finals....... if the winning team had turned the triange upside down, so that the top most point is pointed down, shouldn't the thing hold more? Since it is more stable? there in the center?

Considering hat I assume you know a little bit about engineering, are there any optimum angle that should be used in the last bridge (of the truss as well as the three sides of the major triangle)
cool! i guess all your bridges should be seen by an engineer guys

what type of pasta did the last bridge shown use?
znvrendmynapz 4 years ago
Standard spaghetti. Several strands were laminated together with white glue so it looks way thicker than regular spaghetti.
