They're first album under a record label in 2004 was the "They're only chasing safety" which included the new vocalist, bassist, and second guitar. So really, everyone is still original except the new drummer

Underoath, so many memories...one of the very first Screamo/metal/post-hardcore bands i've ever listened to, haste the day was the other one before these guys, i've loved underoath from day one, and still love them, even though none of the original members are around in the band anymore, they still kill it every year

@SupaOfSupa It all depends on the natural timbre and strength of your voice. Personally, I've done band practices without a mic or amp because I've forgot to pack it in my gear bag but my band was still able to hear me without any type of pain on my part. I'm just a loud person. I don't mean to be a jerk or come across as somebody who had their cheerios pissed in, I just don't think it's fair that people just other vocalists on how they scream without actually being that vocalist.

simply put, by the second album, they were metal, no arguing that fact. everything after that became simply screamo which is not metal. in the second album, there were hints of good influence from melodic and black metal. i wish they would have stuck to that original path. from the 3rd album on they are nothing....they should have renamed themselves. maybe the old vocalist and style could have continued on in another band.
@stormblastarmy Dallas Taylor (original singer) was in the third album aswell. :P
contrary to popular belief it wasn't Dallas Taylor who gave them their "deathcore-ish" sound but it was Corey Stegar. He did leave (or got kicked I forget) after Cries of the Past and that truly was the changing of times for their music style. Oh and the Dallas Taylor did continue in another band,Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, However the style is nowhere near the same as this.
this is deathcore and way more christian than the stuff they do now. its a lot less ambiguous, read the lyrics, straight up preaching. not a christian myself but this cd is amazing and i recommend it to any fan of decent metal.

Underoath is Metalcore, and that is not a sub-genre of Metal, it's a sub-genre of Punk. Punk -> Hardcore -> Metalcore it is called Metalcore because it draws influence from Metal. It is Punk with Metal influence not the other way around. You don't have to be a genre guru to do a few minutes of research and form an educated opinion instead of propagating lies.
The funniest thing about coming to listen to music on youtube is you always get guys arguing over what Genre Music is, Honestly, who cares, just appreciate the music. Call Underoath what you want, if you could put them under the Genre of Amazing. then thats where theyd Belong. Their a great Band with an Awesome Passion for God and the ministry they do through their music. I love them and always will, cant wait for the new Album.

@azrealrecords the message is christian but it really dosnt take any talent to perform the way this song is and dont bull shit me im ina metal band my self i scream i understand all about metal but all they do is smallpower chord progressions random drumming and massivly gaind out simple riffs takes no talaent to perform plus the screaming style here is not a proper techniqe like false chord fry etc... so hes not even utilising talant to scream i like underoath just not this way

@Hojunhu singing wise i just wing it but vocal techniqe for screaming my personal choice is gluateral vocal fry i also use a little false chord if youd like me to go ind eph of my knowledge on how it works just ask its late and i dont feel like typing but i know screaming techniqes all the ones im aware of i aslo know about i dont know 7 but ill name what i know

@Hojunhu simple he is un able to pronunciation his words with 100% clearity with that scream that emans hes straining to do it other wise he wouldnt have trouble talking
i am a vocalist man i scream all the time i love under oath just not there death metal days have you ever heard of the zen of screaming ? any ways yes i can understand him but his words are sloppy when you scream all crazy and loud and throat damaging its harder to pronounciate properly simple fact

@SupaOfSupa It all depends on the natural timbre and strength of your voice. Personally, I've done band practices without a mic or amp because I've forgot to pack it in my gear bag but my band was still able to hear me without any type of pain on my part. I'm just a loud person. I don't mean to be a jerk or come across as somebody who had their cheerios pissed in, I just don't think it's fair that people just other vocalists on how they scream without actually being that vocalist.

@Hojunhu although i agree on the not judging thing i just think if your a vocalist your words shouyld be heard songs tell a story and if someone has to look up lyrics or read them as they listen to understand you than your song is weak in its lyric department i know hes capeable of screaming where you can understand him(mostly) do to there newer stuff just the thing with death metal is (not death core that ahs guitar talent) but detah metal is almosta train wreck i favor metal core and hard core

@Hojunhu fair enough however im not saying all death metal im sayin g stereo type okay for instance teh 1st half of this song or satanic music by decide and stuff like that now DM like CoB is another story they are far more talented than death core but most times the "core" versions of a genre have a more melodic system than just hammering on guitars and drums now aside that my vocal comment be4 whats the point of makinga song people have to look up your lyrics to understand it(most people)???

in this album they have been death metal/ old school deathcore...
but later with every album (and every album worse than the one before )= ) they went through metalcore til post hardcore

anything after this and Cries of the Past is pure and utter shit. I can this cause back when they were doing music like this, is when they would actually admit to being from right here in Ocala, FL. back when it was the original line-up, not this group of jackasses they have now. I got to experience them in places that couldnt hold more than 100 ppl at a time.. in churches all over town. its almost depressing to listen to this nowadays, knowing its over... meh, sorry.. rambling at this point

simply put, by the second album, they were metal, no arguing that fact. everything after that became simply screamo which is not metal. in the second album, there were hints of good influence from melodic and black metal. i wish they would have stuck to that original path. from the 3rd album on they are nothing....they should have renamed themselves. maybe the old vocalist and style could have continued on in another band.

@stormblastarmy Dallas Taylor (original singer) was in the third album aswell. :P
contrary to popular belief it wasn't Dallas Taylor who gave them their "deathcore-ish" sound but it was Corey Stegar. He did leave (or got kicked I forget) after Cries of the Past and that truly was the changing of times for their music style. Oh and the Dallas Taylor did continue in another band,Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, However the style is nowhere near the same as this.

this is deathcore and way more christian than the stuff they do now. its a lot less ambiguous, read the lyrics, straight up preaching. not a christian myself but this cd is amazing and i recommend it to any fan of decent metal.

Underoath is Metalcore, and that is not a sub-genre of Metal, it's a sub-genre of Punk. Punk -> Hardcore -> Metalcore it is called Metalcore because it draws influence from Metal. It is Punk with Metal influence not the other way around. You don't have to be a genre guru to do a few minutes of research and form an educated opinion instead of propagating lies.

The funniest thing about coming to listen to music on youtube is you always get guys arguing over what Genre Music is, Honestly, who cares, just appreciate the music. Call Underoath what you want, if you could put them under the Genre of Amazing. then thats where theyd Belong. Their a great Band with an Awesome Passion for God and the ministry they do through their music. I love them and always will, cant wait for the new Album.
