  • Since selling this starion and loving the Nissan engine, I bought a 350z which was a very nice car and now ive got the very last R34 GTR which i think its an awesome package. Stay tuned I should have some videos of my GTR coming up soon.

  • mate i used the starion crossmember, starion engine mounts and the nissan brackets that bolt to the SR bolted up. the engine sat too high though and the gearbox wouldnt fit in the tunnel so i used steel plates that bolted to the starion engine mounts and welded it to the nissan brackets which allowed me to lower the engine enough for the gearbox to fit in the tunnel nicely. it also allowed me to move engine back or forward to my liking. gearstick come up through the hole in the tunnel as normal

  • how hard was it to swap this into the starion? i have an shp starion i plan to ether swap a 4g65 wideblock with dual cam head or and sr20det

  • nice to see someone put a good power plant in one of these... this blows away the gay ford 302s ive seen.. nice work man

  • This is now owned by myself.

Car has been tuned recently to give a little less power, but better response throughout the rev range. It's a lot more driveable and less recalcitrant now.

On Nissan engines vs Mitsubishi engines - Nissan parts are WAY cheaper, and a lot easier to find where I am. Lots more places here are familiar with them too.

I have other Starions with the OEM 4G63's in them. They're always going to sound better, especially the SOHC engines, but SR20's are just all round easier

  • blah blah your car sucks blah blah nissan motors blow blah blah i cant believe you stupid cunt. JUST KIDDING. Love the swap, nice car, fuck the haters.

  • what the fuck....... Why would you put a sr20 into a starion/conquest? first off the sr20 is garbage compared to 4g63 2nd the swap is way more expensive than a 4g63 and 3 its a mitsubishi.. why put in a nissan motor? They ruined this car its hard enough to find a clean starion/conquest this is just one more thats ruined. Poor car i feel bad for it

  • @inlinesk8r They cant help it nissan is better

  • @inlinesk8r no one gives a shit about your opinion or that you feel bad for a starion.

  • its so weak :S my 1996 omega is 435hp

  • its so weak :S my 1996 omega is 435

  • do u have a build thread my friend wants to put a sr in his starion

  • I had a 88 Starion same color with Black interior, I put a new engine and transmission, I did everything to make it orginial, But was impossable to keep in running, The car was so much fun to drive. I ended up giving the car away

  • My 86 conquest is intercooled from factory also many other starion's and conquest's had the same exact intercoolers.

  • wow, very clean Starion. Don't thinkI have ever seen one that clean.

  • 86-90 my bad

  • @starquest92 89 was the last year for conquests, and even those were 88 overstock with a reprinted manual. I had one, it was awesome.

  • older starions/conquest were no intercooled. Later models were. Power ranged from 145-178. The 2.6 is a pretty decent motor if you do everything right. I just rebuilt my motor for about $250. Its cheap if you know how to do the work yourself. Next up is an sr20det with itb's

  • @jdmpollo What?! Seriously? I just picked up a pretty clean 87 Conquest and can't wait to start building it for a nice DD. How in the world did you rebuild it with just 250 bucks?!

  • where and for how much did you pick it up for? the way I rebuilt it was by using the most inexpensive parts I could find. ebay pistons and such. I did the work myself and saved money on all the labor. Note that it was not a complete rebuild. Just bottom end.

  • HAHAHAHA you are so dumb. you dont know anything about cars dude. its clear that you just copy pasted those facts about the conquest. want more proof? if you knew the first thing about how NA and TURBO systems work, you would realize that it is impossible to have individual throttle bodies on an sr20det, which is turbocharged. itb's are only put on na cars to increase collective intake volume and shorten the gap the air has to travel before it reaches the engine. it also improves injector

  • spray pattern. a turbo vehicle will have pipes coming out of the intercooler, going into a large single intake manifold and throttle body.

  • Comment removed

  • Ignorance. Apparently you happen to be the one who does not know shit about cars. The 90-94 Nissan Pulsar GTi-R's came with quad throttle bodies aka itb's. The motor is the sr20det n14... go kill yourself

  • jj the original 2.6 is junk, the timing pieces cost more than it would to rebuild the stupid engine. If the slack adjusters in the timing case wear then you are in for it. It is way easier to just swap a 4g63T into it than make the 2.6 better.

  • tpvalley any Turbo charged cars have an intercooler of some sort.

  • Your wrong :D I'm 90 percent sure Starions did not come intercooled from factory but I do know that 83' 89' 300zx's equipped with VG30ET's (as aposed to the jdm RB20DET) do not have factory intercooler as the low boost levels (6.7 psi) were designed to keep temps down and response up.

  • some of the earlier versions 83-86 didnt but anything 87-89 im a 100% sure they were intercooled from the factory. Ive owened 2

  • and your 90% is wrong starquests 85 and earlier had no intercooler with the excepition of the 85.5.....any widebody models which were built 86-89 cam standard with an intercooler........so dont say shit on youtube unless you know its right that is unless your anther ''ive had evry car and know everthing about it and im also a professional drifter'' jdm fags get a life quit fanicizing

  • You seem to like to think YOU know everything corecting people with an asshole manner. I was having a conversation with someone and you decide to talk shit? Don't presume to know what kind of enthusiast I am. I never said anything about knowing everything About anything. You said not all models came intercooled so I'm partially right way to argue a moot point. And you talk shit about people that drift? Drifting takes tons of skill that I doubt you posses :)

  • Why the hell someone put SR20DET engine, that come from Nissan 200SX S14 and S15 (beautiful and much newer body shells) into such a ruler-by-shaped Starion with interior looking like from 70's??? (I like starions, they are great runners, but with their own engines (2.0 or 2.6 liters... ...

  • yeah man, why would someone put a piece of shit nissan engine into a perfectly good mitsubishi.

  • youre a dumb bitch

  • How much is that model before upgrading?

  • wasnt this for sale a while back for 20k

  • Yip car has since been sold

  • I saw one for sale today, I think its been modded;

it has front mounted intercooler but the routing looks as if it didnt have one as standard....do they have intercoolers as standard?

    whats standard bhp?

  • @fellafoofoo i would never pay that

  • Shit ill buy for 30 grand hard car to find.I these cars have a beautiful body man, the ride is smooth really stable on sharp turns. If engine is a problem just use your head to make it better.

  • one on ebay now, £155 going up.....

do they have intercoolers as standard?

    the one for sale does.

  • this starion is sMexy

  • It sounded like you were hardly hittin 5500. (torque*rpm)/5252=horsepower

  • I found a Mitsu Starion yesterday mistaked it for a ae86 (at night) plus its already black in white my friend was with me and he's looking for a ae86 corrolla but maybe we'll just take that Mitsu and put a sr20det. although i hate to think what a waste of a Silvia they usually cut up good running cars but i guess can't really import the whole car here anyways and if ppl weren't using engines they would be being crushed anyways. I imagine its hard to register an old car in japan via emissions

  • Sweet

  • i'm putting a pathfinder engine in my mitsubishi 4x4 truck i can't find a mitsushit engine but i was easily able to find a rolled pathfinder

  • who did the engine? how did it cost? and how is it now?

  • What's the engine?

  • he said its an sr20det.. its the 4cylinder turbo engine found in the old 240s or silvias

  • these are kickass cars...however the first one i owned only had 63,576 then the motor completly seized when i stopped at a stop sign how screwy is that

  • hey staion4me, how much U.S. dollars do you think that paint job would cost for a Starion? with that exact holden quicksilver color? thanks

  • No its quicksilver - Holden colour

  • how much would the Holden Quicksilver paint job cost? like in US dollars?

  • who did your engine? and how much did it costs? how is it now?

  • hey staion4me you dont happen to know a bloke that ownes a goldy cobra replica by any chance

  • Yes I do - hes my father inlaw - who is this?

  • we were talking at tempe tyres on the weekend

  • sigma man i assume....are you all sorted now with your wheels

  • LOL YES that is I!!!

yeah they got the wheels on needed to make some spacers and mod the struts to clear the tyres but it was worth the pain and looks great with the red walls

    Bloody nice staz btw

  • nice starion I had one just like that 88 silver hks intercooler catback, sheered the driveshaft right off that thing, some guy drove 300 miles to buy it from me to tow it home.

  • The SR and 2JZ remind me of each other, there both Versatile. Kik ass car btw, Nice clean swap.

  • ... they have nothing in common besides being "versatile" lol...

  • Damn that turbo is loud. How much psi?

  • enough

  • as long as your mechanically minded its not hard. if your not sure which way to turn a spanner to losen a nut it might be quite hard for you

  • these motors getting put in just about anything. good to see it. I put one in my toyota cressida. still running on the stock T25 at 14 psi though :(

  • yeah mate....awesome aftermarket support thats the main reason i chose this engine and its already RWD orientated as well

  • but i thought a bigger intercooler turbo and fuel mods could put a starion in to 13s

  • by all means do it your way :)

  • bigger turbo, pistons, aftermarket head and cam with some minor fuel upgrades and you could

  • i thought with larger turbo and maybe alky injection with a lot of boost would get in to 13s with stock cam ans head

  • you'll blow up a stock G54B at 20psi with stock cam head pistons etc

  • i heard you like flipping them (and i dont mean selling) stormahmmer87

  • do you know how much more horsepower this car has now? you probably should never talk again

  • Congrats on the power! Mine made 210whp at 16psi and was pretty much stock.

  • the quest for more power dude. i wasnt happy doing 16-17 sec 1/4 mile times. now im in the 12's so much better if you ask me.

  • waaa?

Starion4me, why go with the nissan? Not that the SR20DET is a bad engine, but wouldnt a custom swap like that be harder than to just build up the 4G63?

  • helped a guy do a 4g63 swap years ago and it was more of a pain if you ask me.

  • I had a picture of this car as my desktop for the longest time. I had no idea that there were vids of it! Pretty cool dude. I have a 1987 TSi in what looks to be the same silver (H43 paint code) lovely. I don't understand the sr20det, but to each his own.

  • thanks dude....more at my website listed in the details. dynoed yestersday 363hp at the wheels :)

  • my friend has a conquest and we're wondering how much you have to mod the shell to make it fit in there? any help/answers would be appreciated cuz it's our summer project. thanks

  • Thats a nice Starion mate - see my vids of my old Starion on the rolling road - not as powerful as yours though !
