@RCkraze ...... Was wondering how the body forming was going, and if you have any more tip as im just getting ready to try it my self for the first time,,,,,,,
Gr8 video PANABA453... Also you can use a Heat Gun to help you vacuum the plastic. Do not use the Heat Gun to close, when it's in a processing vacuum, but it's help keep the plastic soft. To get a perfect R/C Body form......
You are awesome for sharing this information with us! I'm looking at making my own SC8 bodies after seeing this video but they are slightly larger that the Blitz. How do you determine what size of Polycarbonate sheet you need ? Also, does T&E Plastics require a minimum order before they ship anything out ? THANKS AGAIN!
@GARYMAPES420 the reason for the short body ,is that i ran out of plaster to finish the mold.I thought 1 bag would make it ,,,well guess again 2- 25lb bags to fill it to the top..... So i just wanted to test out the former and that was the result..... look at the other video of the compleated project... Thanks for watching
You seem to have enough plastic sheets to build more than one body, have you thought about making and selling them? Probably would hurt to have a Slash and SC10 mold if you were. Nice video too, I haven't done vacuum forming since I was in middle school.
Great job!! And nice set up. Try letting the sheet sag just a little more and also boards about 1 inch thick the shape of the bottom of the car will lift the mold and all the folds of the lexan will be below what you want to keep. I told you it was not that hard. You will save a mint doing it yourself.
after i pour a new mold i will make another detailed video. you can also look up DIY vacuum forming on youtube and see other ones .same concept tho.its os simple it make me sick, that they charge so much,it cost me less that $10.00 for a 24x16 sheet of .080 pollycarbinet
wow man, nice job. this must be the best rc mod i have ever seen, I have never bought a body for any of my rc cars because their so expensive. If you dont mind I would love to see how you make it, i might try. from this video it seems and looks easy but it would be nice if you showed us. Thanks man

Hello Panaba453! Congratulations man, that is such a nice job!
I did a Vacuum Forming machine myself but I had a problem on heating the plastic.
How do you get the plastic heat?
Thank you for the video.

looks good Panaba, do you put anything in the plaster to keep it strong? or just plain plaster?
2 thumbs ups dude!
alteredstateskustom 2 years ago
just plain plaster for now , i was going to call a pottery store and get it glazed and fired ,but im not sure if it would work
PANABA453 2 years ago
that might be a good idea, if you can get it fired! then it should last for a long time, and alot of bodies
