Well.. "Jo" means staff, so technically it is a "Jo", but it's called Hanbo ;)

technically as a 3 ft. stick hanbo, or Tanbo, is exactly what its called.
Jo refers to the 4 ft. staff,
and Bo is short for Roku Shaku Bo, or six ft. stick.
