@RTO41 I have logged 660 hours into ETW since I bought it in 2010 and out of the many Grand Campaigns I have played, I havent even played as the British faction yet. Lol! ANd I still had TONS AND TONS of fun.
My only complaint is that CA was very lazy on the Indian theatre. I wanted East India Company, Hyderabad, Rajputs, French and a stronger Portuguese faction presence there.
I didnt said its not a funny game.I was just saying that they worked more on the british than in other factions.As I know British are the unique faction that have an special flag for navy,all the ships were made using british ships plans,Spain (that was one of the main enemies of the british in 18th century) is a holy disaster,most of the units of other factions are british trops but with diferent names and colours,they put the whole north america and no south america...
@RTO41 were many wars fought in South America during that period? I thought the Spanish & Portuguese maintained mostly peaceful control over that region from 1700 to 1800

Why CA didn't add South America? Because adding it will supouse the total supremacy of Spain over any other faction in the game.
@RTO41 yeah it wouldnt work out gameplay wise. If all of South America (except Brazil) was under Spanish control, Spain would ger ridiculously powerful. But to reflect the historical power distribution (18th century Spain was no longer #1), they focussed on Britain

Hats off to the Spanish commander Blas de Lezo. That doesn't change the fact that Spain was shit and got hammered in the War of Succession, which you just claimed they won. Most of the British losses at Cartegena de Indias were from disease, not Spanish muskets.
Napoleon was defeated by the winter and USA by mosquitos in Vietnam,but no one cares that,because the fact is that they lose.And most of the British were killed in the assault to the fort.They were running away and Spanish infantry charged against them with bayonets making a massacre.Even all, in the 18th century Spain was still the 1st or 2nd biggest empire of the world,and CA make them as a true shit.
Actually most people credit Napoleon's defeat to mighty General Winter. Anyway, Spain may have been the largest empire but that doesn't mean it can't be weak. Take Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire for example; large ancient empires which were almost utterly useless in the Great War. And in Empire, Spain is as good as the player/ the AI's difficulty.

I think French Revolution is one of those "We known that you might hate it but you still will get it..." core scripted stuff which can sometimes kill your entire progress.

As Prussia I had split Poland-Lithuania with Russia and conquered all of Europe west of that minus England (whose demise would come later). I faced the fact that Russia wasn't particularly pleased with my policy of military expansion; I planned on conquering the entire world and I knew Russia was next. So, instead of marching on Moscow myself, my ally Sweden and I waged a two fronted war until Moscow's armies were stretched thin. Sweden took Moscow just as my armies were arriving.
@xelvargx destroying russia is actually easier than you think. once you capture Kiev, it becomes a full on massacre, no resistance, no force to face with. although there is no point in destroying russia cuz their lands suck. but there is more profit in allying with them since they keep ottoman empire and sweden busy. and if you destroy portugal and take amsterdam you become the dominant power in trade routes.

I rely heavily on my economic capabilities, When I start the game I disband all unneeded unites and start trading with all available nations. I always research the economic friendly technologies before military..all the time. I focus on my colonial possessions alot as they benefit a large amount to my major merchant/trading fleets. I always lower tax to the minimal to reduce infant mortality rate
@APAFARAAA You can´t have played much games! E:TW whas the biggest disappointment since MW2: Total War. The game just lacked all the fun in previous TW games. Waaaaaay to much micro management and monotone music. The battles were as exiting as looking at paint dry.
ok my version of the game: STEP ONE! PLAY AS MOTHER RUSSIA! STEP TWO! BECOME ALLIANCE WITH NORWAY (because i am Norwegian :P) STEP THREE! DECLARE WAR AGAINST THE WORLD!
In Empire Total War, Norway was an union with Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Ingria were the Swedish Empire durning the time. And the Russia mostly got beated against Sweden, exept the Great Northern War, when they won in Poltava. Else Russia didn't made any great impression. I am more impressed by the Danish actually.

This soundtrack... is seriously the best one in all of the Total War games. And the in-battle soundtracks in Empire and Napoleon is also the best in all of the TW series. And NOW i honestly CANNOT WAIT for Shogun 2 :o

I have no grudge against France whatsoever, quite the contrary, they have the most beautiful capital in Europe, and one of the world's richest cultures.
@Ascensiam Judging by how Napoleon acted, he was never acting as a patriot of France, because he loved his motherland (Corsica). Napoleon isn't even French. Julius Caesar also did what he did for himself because he wanted power. If he truly was a statesman of Rome, he wouldn't work against the senate in his manner. Alexander was not a patriot at all because he wanted to make a new race of Persians + Macedonians.
@fzzz7x Caesar saw that his country was infested with corrupt politicians, it was dying from the inside. He did what he did because he was a patriot. If you love something enough, than you have to protect it, even from itself.
The worst thing I experienced with Empire was the complete and utter lack of blood. Gore. Screams.
When you nicely position your red coats and cannons to focus fire a helpless and trapped group of enemies, you WANT to hear their terrified screams and see the limbs fly as your bullets and cannonballs eradicates them!

In Empire Total War, Norway was an union with Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Ingria were the Swedish Empire durning the time. And the Russia mostly got beated against Sweden, exept the Great Northern War, when they won in Poltava. Else Russia didn't made any great impression. I am more impressed by the Danish actually.

This soundtrack... is seriously the best one in all of the Total War games. And the in-battle soundtracks in Empire and Napoleon is also the best in all of the TW series. And NOW i honestly CANNOT WAIT for Shogun 2 :o

I have no grudge against France whatsoever, quite the contrary, they have the most beautiful capital in Europe, and one of the world's richest cultures.

@Ascensiam Judging by how Napoleon acted, he was never acting as a patriot of France, because he loved his motherland (Corsica). Napoleon isn't even French. Julius Caesar also did what he did for himself because he wanted power. If he truly was a statesman of Rome, he wouldn't work against the senate in his manner. Alexander was not a patriot at all because he wanted to make a new race of Persians + Macedonians.

I bought it and I think its just not enough to match empire, yes it may have solved many problems, bit still empire is a very good game.
Unbeatable I say. unless shogun II kicks ass. wich I think it wont.

The worst thing I experienced with Empire was the complete and utter lack of blood. Gore. Screams.
When you nicely position your red coats and cannons to focus fire a helpless and trapped group of enemies, you WANT to hear their terrified screams and see the limbs fly as your bullets and cannonballs eradicates them!
I'll never forgive SEGA for that :<
