It seems odd that that powerful, intimidating, fantastic voice is coming from such a "young" man. I know he's 32 in this film but still it's a far cry from the Rickman most of us have come to know and love.

It IS kind of amazing that he still has that incredible voice at such a young age.

And such a range of expression IN that voice! Usually men with voices like that tend to be pretty monotone.

But he has always been Mr. Expressive, it seems. I think maybe that's part of what makes him such a great actor.He's so expressive!

And a man like that is extremely sexy! Irresistible to women like me, too.

I had forgotten that he was in this terrible version of Romeo and Juliet - he is good as Tibult and fortunately dies in Act 1. He was however superb in the Trollope dramatisation the Barchester Chronicles (the Warden and Barchester Towers) as Obadiah Slope.

@Samsis2 I know what you mean; between the 2 of them, they make the old fashioned language sound perfectly modern with the right inflection and emphasis. When I first watched this all the way through, I had a script right in front of me. Oh, that confounded NURSE! Even here, with its faithful portrayal of the whole play, her first monologue was edited. I can't imagine sitting though the entirety of that long-winded speech. It's amusing, but it's just too long. Those poor theater-goers.
