I think its quite...well very unfair to compare Jeremy Brett and Benedict Cumberbatch, Brett was in 4 series of a Sherlock Holmes tv programme.

I hope there will be 4 series of this Sherlock, but if there is i will probably be 30 by the time it ends...(im 20.)

Ah, I had hoped it wasn't true, but alas, it seems Moffat and Gatiss really have shoehorned in a “romance” between Sherlock and Irene. How disappointing. That's another adaptation stained by the modern obsession with people getting off with each other.

@tehcosmicexplorer08 I do trust Moffat completely, but based on several interviews with the cast/writers, it seems this episode centres around Sherlock 'falling in love' with Irene. What I'm HOPING is that they're focussing on the fascination he has with her, instead of any feeling of love. Because you only have to read 4 sentences into the original to see that idea being irrefutably shot down.

I guess I'm just bracing myself for a Guy Ritchie-like disaster xD

Excuse me the whole bloody point of Irene in the book is she is a woman taken advantage of and instead of weeping about it she gets back. It's about a strong woman, not a sex bomb. I'm just a little upset they had to go down the same root as the Hollywood film with this one.
