i totally believe in soulmates no matter the age difference. that one person who makes you feel complete, the person who make everyday special not just a string of day weeks months and so on, someone to love and care for you, someone who knows your mind about as well as yourself, someone who knows every inch of you inside and out and loves every molicule of it, if you think about it age is rather small issue in compaison isnt it.

I believe that soulmates can be years apart in age. My sister met and married hers within 3 months. He was 20 years older, but they had almost 14 beautiful years together before he died of a rare and incurable disease. He was a wonderful man whom we all loved!

That depends. How much more than twenty years? I think we can have multiple soul mates in our lives, but only one or two that can turn into/are meant to turn romantic, if that makes sense. If you're meant to be, I think you'll be close enough in age where you can enjoy your time together. My parents are 10 years apart...I have an aunt who married man a man 20 yrs in difference to her. But when it gets to something like 20 yr old and 60..ehhh personally, idk

I've read time travel romances with the theme you are talking of, though it's generally they were born centuries a part and were meant to be together, so this idea is not uncommon.

Also, women in their teens used to marry men well up in age...and it's common knowledge some guys like women several years older than them. I guess it depends on the couple.

I gained my philosophy in part by a book I read called Maire, which took place way back when in Ireland and incorporated some Irish words and had a Glossary in the back. One was "anmchara" which meant "soul friend, confessor, a soul mate" If I remember correctly, your soul mate(s) does not have to be somebody you're romantically interested in. However, as seen in this book, often, when you find a soul mate of the opposite sex, it is easy to fall in love with them

(actually, Gaelic I think is the origin of the word) However, I don't think we are limited to a single soul mate--which is why we have that close connect w/our bff's. I also think we have a couple potential "meant-to-be's"--which is why somebody whose spouse has died can find love again...with their heart's other meant-to-be. I think different routes lead us in different directions and make us more compatible with one than the other...if that makes any sense...just an idea I've toyed with.
