Question for you(a bit off topic): how does your stand-up punching bag compare to your hanging heavy bag (assuming you have one of those) for punching workouts?
I recently decided to switch all of my training to bodyweight, except for endurance sets of deadlifts, and some fireman's carry and farmer walk stuff with sandbags and all that. This video is inspiring.
All you can see are his calves, the size of which has absolutely no bearing on athleticism, power, or strength. Take a look at a lot of the most powerful MMA strikers, and you will see a lot of them have small (but conditioned) calves. Have fun doing calve raises in front of a mirror, in the mean time, the rest of us are training shit that matters.
I cant even do one.. I weigh 72 KG 158.7lbs im 16% body fat.. I do bench press etc.. but I struggle with this :/ advice please? I can obviously do normal pushups
@MrGhosteyes You need to be able to do at least 40push ups with perfect form before you can generate enough force to push yourself off the ground. Bench press sucks man, push ups are way better.
@MrGhosteyes Try doing some weighted push ups, put about 20kg in a bag and put it on your upper back, after doing those for a while it will be like lifting air doing normal push ups. That helped me generate the force to push myself off the ground. 53 is impressive though.
Is it recommended for a 15 year old to carry dumbbells to get muscles? Im not really tall about 1.59M ( i know im short ). I also heard that carrying dumbbells will decrease your height. Oh and 1 more, will getting bigger muscles make you punch harder?
@jethrotay if u do weight lifting at a young age it stunts ur growth.. stick to body weight exercises til ur 16/17... Just because someone has more muscle doesnt mean they're gna hit stronger, its about technique

@gmbrdiloss These are tough exercises and great for building chest & core strength, and explosive power. Start with sets of low reps and you will work your way up. Good luck with everything!
yo bro, u have no technique when it comes to punching but u have a fucking sick routine and conditioning program. if u got a chin, and take some classes u could prolly do good in mma. serious
@gammyhorse Only use weights for a select few exercises. If i do use weights ill use free weights like dumbells, because i bought a whole set of them so its convienent. Its good to combine weight exercises with bodyweight training so you muscles dont get use to one thing.

I Can Bench 265 I just turned 16 and I barely do workout But I'm starting to get back Into it for Football Doing this will build a lot of Mass But how long will it take?
@lordvoldemort578 If its mass your looking for then the weights will give you faster results. But you can do exercises like this aside for your bench to build up more core and other chest fibers not recruited from the bench press. Your reps and explosiveness will continue to go up the more you do these exercises.
@FitFury thanks !!! Ya i actually did all the one handers first to failure... So i was not runnin on full power for the superman pushups but luckily i knocked out a good amount. You do these too right? You should top my number and make a vid response!
@FitFury Hey Fit how about 5lb dumbells in your hands so you hit the rear delts with the rev. fly while in the air. That would really turn up the intensity !!!
