I'm writing a collection of stories about mermaids, but most of my stories the mermaids are evil and they kidnap children because they can't reproduce. the mermaids are a creation of a jilted witch's curse. but i don't know if people will like evil mermaids. they get away with all kinds of crazy stuff because humans don't know they exist. they only let children see them. Adults, if they see a mermaid, mermaid makes them go blind. it needs work, eh?

Hey all you mermaid lovers out there - do a search here on you tube for Weeki Wachee. It is a place north of Tampa where there is a live mermaid show in a spring that has crystal clear water. There are big plate glass windows and they have women with mermaid tails do a show! I loved it as a little girl!

Obviously it wasn't correct morally, but at this point I gather the US government thought of Madison as their "property." It would be like being the last guy left behind after a nuclear weapon was stolen. They don't just give fines to those guys.

Well, there are the guards who could testify they recognize him as the man who impersonated a Swedish doctor. But that's all. I guess Freddie would just feign insanity and get away with it.

But I think with heavy-duty matters in which certain major government agencies (such as Defense, CIA, etc) believe they have "jurisdiction," they don't approach it like a typical trial case (even if they're supposed to). I think they basically operate above the law and act like a 500-lb gorilla and do what they want. Of course it's not right, but I imagine Freddy wouldn't get a transparent, fair trial.

(Motive: Jealousy) I knew I was innocent, but since there were no witnesses and I tend to be pessimistic I prepared myself for a stay in prison. The thing that tortured me most was how to explain to my whereabouts to my beloved grandma. I was lucky, though. Case dismissed.

The point is, if Splash were "real," I have a feeling after his last scene here, Freddy's fruit market co-workers would've never seen him again.

You cannot help but miss a character played by John Candy (or John Candy himself, for that matter)… The problem I see here with the whole mermaid abduction thing…would the US government be able to successfully prove they ever had a mermaid? After all, mermaids are considered fairytale characters. What would happen today if scientists found a life-form that resembles a leprechaun, a dragon or whatever…wouldn't anybody consider it a hoax?

In fact, they'd probably do their best to control the press to make sure it wasn't spoken of in the mainstream again. I think they'd be content to just work in secret studying her (and of course, learning about any other civilizations they might want to butt heads with).

John Candy was great in this movie. I guess in real life he was a very shy, humble guy.

o man, i absolutely love this movie. half of the time i forgot that she was holding her breath, and her tail is amazing (im so glad its not blue like ALL the others ^-^) and one thing that makes me especially happy is that her clothes didnt "magically" disappear , she had to take the shirt off. FIVE STARS and i am soooo buying it on itunes for my ipod
