  • best ever, SRV's the man ....

  • Nice!!!!......PBO

  • i notice that SRV is looking quite worn out in this video think this must of been his drug phase before he went rehab still a great performance though RIP stevie

  • I'm sure everyone recognized Chuck Norris under the hat! So that was his secret...

  • Read the title of the video

  • It's not soul to soul yet it's

  • Comment removed

  • I love this 'Soul to soul' part:D

  • this is one of my favs, he is so amazing

  • Lawdy Lawd SRV You are the Reason i never could get married; your were taken at the time, or i was too young (16) 1979 i still aint found one better...LOVE You Heart & Soul most high BluesMan De-vine, 4ever*

  • Guitarist: Chuck Norris (from Chuck Norris)

    Bassist: Brian Johnsson (from AC/DC)

    Organist: David Letterman (from 80's/90's)

Drummer: David Bowie (from Fairy Land)

Viewer: Time for new glasses. What a surreal lineup..

  • if you look at his mouth ..it's like the guitar is and extenuation of his voice.

  • why is such talent as SRV playing to a bunch of kraut zombies? God bless you Stevie

  • damn they sure could lay it down

  • umm, I'd be dancing... not sitting in the chair X D

  • yes, he is amazing

  • Wow, Reese Wynans really gave it 100 % in this performance, that Hammond organ work was just amazing, the best I think I've seen him so far. Stevie was just on top of things as always. Even with an unresponsive crowd like this they delivered an amazing performance, now that's amazing, that's talent and that's true musicianship. Something a lot of current acts are lacking!

  • rainy day, dream away

  • That hammond sound reeeeeeeeeally dirty!

  • what

  • dit was volgen mij de eerste keer dat de Duitsers kennis maakten met Stevie..

  • @lowiepieter Hehe, eindelijk goede muziek daar in dat ramstein gebied ;)

  • @DW00000 Reese Wynans

  • IMO the only problem with with Stevie's music is the boring drumming.

  • i could never just be that chill & still @ a Stevie show!! LoL Just saying..id be jammn

  • no hay

  • loco hay un recital de ese show. mataria saber??.mauro latorre

  • This is not the kind of music to sit still on a chair. Move people, MOVE!!

  • Damn, that's the some of the best organ playing I've ever heard!

  • look at stevie dying of drugs at that time, makes me sad seing im that way, the hole band is just dead during that concert, glad he got out of it, else we hould have lost him even soner, R-I-P Stevie Ray Vaughan

  • The 1st & only time I saw SRV play this was at the Hollywood Bowl 80sPBJazz .I'll never forget that experienc He was already playing as the stage revolved to face the crowd who beagan to roar at the awesome power of this legend. He seemed to call thunder outta that Strat. The Richter Scale must have registered at least 4.5 cuz I the entire Bowl including seats felt like they were shaking.I was seated far back and his music came uphill like a constant shockwave he was incredible.

  • This is probably the best live version of say what i have heard. Just infront of Tokyo and Monttroux

  • his whammy bar is on the other side of the bridge than usual, why is that?

  • SRV = God.

  • man great video!

  • @bjparhamguitars123 Thanks :)

  • Reece Wynans is a fucking god.

  • G O D

  • wow, the crowds so calm, i woulda been ON MY FEET!

  • i just jizzed my pants

  • stevie ray vaughan is eric clapton,s wett dream

  • OUTSTANDING

  • Who are the 3 morons who don't like this?SR was always and is still a great in my eyes and this guy on the organ is unbelievable

  • Who is that organ player?

  • @greenkunte His name is I think: Reece Wynans

  • @lowiepieter Reese* :> And yes, he is awesome, but his fingers look kinda creepy, tbh. :P

  • @maltelundell Shut up wierdo

  • @lowiepieter reese

  • @lowiepieter It's Reese Wynans, not Reece.

  • @surfco thanks surfco

  • @surfco opps!!

  • Reece Wynans is from a different planet! The reach is inhuman!

  • @WoodyWoodcasters Yeah, he is good, isn't he?

  • @lowiepieter its just the fisheye lens :p no seriously this guy made me get pianolessons as a child =)

  • @WoodyWoodcasters Reece Wynans was the keyboard player in Duane Allmans band, but Duane needed a singer and called his brother Gregg, and Reece was out of the band, and the Allman Bros band was born

  • @paulbarraza Hey thanks for the info, I did not know that.

  • two idiots....

  • Like.. youtube needs to install a new button call it ...can't live without hearing this much more fitting ..I think these people are too hammered to stand up..:P

  • Who ' s the troll ?

  • 1985 3rd gold album. 5th grammy !!!! epic release 11-30 ♥

  • Nobody should ever be sipping drinks under an umbrella watching Stevie Ray Vaughn. They should be crammed together in a small, beer soaked bar jumping and sweating right along with the master.

  • @probrojeffro yes you are right. don that sooooomany times when I was younger.

  • @probrojeffro damn right!

  • right!

  • who is the idiot who disliked? :(

  • @75coltfan I don't think there can be anaybody who dislikes this, don't you think so too?

  • @lowiepieter there was 1 dislike.... i liked it... im jw who didnt

  • @75coltfan Sorry I am not English, I don't know what "im jw" means but I am sure it is well meant.

  • @75coltfan Don't raise attention to the prick! That's the only reason he has dissed this vid!

Just ignore the pricks and they will get the message.

BTW Stevie will never be surpassed! Fact! Well not in my lifetime! I love Jimi H, he was a revolution. SRV was god given talent at its best!!!!

  • @75coltfan Someone who missclicked perhaps. :3

    RIP SRV!

  • @75coltfan He's not an idiot, he probably just missed the like button! :-)

  • @Chariotz5 probably beiber

  • @75coltfan to be honest with you i couldn't give a fucking shit as long ass he don't come back

  • Get em' Reese

  • @chimbolo89 Reese is the Stevie Ray of keyboards!

  • At the very, very end when he winds back around to face forward I can imagine him thinking, "Gad, in what fresh hell do I find myself ensconced? What's with all the manikins anyway?" He does look a bit unsettled if not delirious.

  • Check that quick grin Tommy tosses to Stevie just beyond 4:02 --some bluesin' brothers right there....

  • Layton always looks so BORED! LOL!!! you know hes not but its still funny!!

  • No matter what the he** SRV drank, snorted or shot, he was a legend that could make a 6 string actually TALK!! I could offer my opinions on that tour (where it was and time frame) but the guy's gone, his 6 is put away and let the guy RIP and legend live on...

  • David Letterman on Kboards? LOL

  • That shirt is just as epic as his playing!!

  • I think he was very sick here, this was one of the last gigs before him and tommy went into rehab......

  • @mwlm1 This was in the summer of 85. Sadly Stevie had a whole year until he went into rehab

  • Fue sinduda el Jimmy Hendrix blanco ,el que mejor recojio su legado.

  • man, he looks strung out there :-( still amazing tho!

  • 4:20 epic soul finish, causing Stevie ray's guitar to propel around his body

  • it would have been cool if him and jimi got to play together

  • Stevie was badass!

  • Rainy day, rain all day............

  • No offence but SRV is streets ahead of Joe Bonamassa,

John Mayer etc, just light years ahead and always will be.

  • Where did u get this? Did not know SRV did Ohne Filter... Gotta get it!!

  • @rosendito Ohne filter was making a show with all American bluesbands. I think there were 4 or so. Ofcourse this was years ago. Stevie was just one of them and played only one song. Maybe you can find more on German"youtubes"like Myvideo dot de. there are more German "Youtubes" gr.

  • I know no better guy like Stevie Ray. This is unbelieveable!! ( OK, I know Joe Bonamassa ;-) )

  • lol, imagine sitting in front of such an amazing musical performance and only ONE GUY dares to even so much as tap his foot to the beat. haha buncha stiffs!

  • @TheUndert0ker I think the German audience did not know him and saw him for the first time; but I know Germans who are big fans now.

  • @lowiepieter Absolutely! I'm 1 of them! :-) Btw: Take a look at the SRV-"WDR Rockpalast"-Show...!

  • @lowiepieter: like me :D wish i couldve been there, i probably wasn't even alive back then

  • @TheUndert0ker german habit. i know what i'm talking about...

  • Why the hell Ohnet Filter didn´t release the video of this concert? They have published videos of Johnny Copeland, Walter Trout, Buddy Guy... why not of Stevie????!!!!!

  • This was a short time before his big breakdown. It is amazing what success can do to you. Being a Stevie fan you can definatly tell he sobers up in the later years. His early years he was young and did less coke so some may say he simply enhanced himself. During this time it was breaking him down. Im glad he sobered up but sad he had only a short time to enjoy it.

  • Reese Wynans was badass.

  • man!!! great video!!! rock on!!!

  • sonido excelente y limpio como todo su trabajo viva SRV por siempre

  • @jckdanielsjerez gracias

  • Must be a hip hop crowd...; )

  • this is during his "dark" days.....fucking jammed though. You can really hear a difference in his playing between this period and the way he sounded when he was sober. r.i.p. s.r.v.

  • AMEN JANDERS52 .....

  • Lol what crazy fools in the audience!

you'd think they were at a classical recital the way their chillin.

id be dancing on the table pissed drunk loosing my fuckin mind!

  • the "say what!?" at 3:11 is the type of voice from stevie that sends chills down my spine.

  • @nebulae87. yeah I know what you mean. I could use some more of that.

  • I agree with Janders, everyone in this video is great except the audience! I'd be dancing on the table!

  • this is a nice jam by SRV AND DOUBLE TROUBLE!

  • I wonder how an mostly Black audience would react? Cause O'L whitey is not feelin' it, Lol - BTW: Chris Layton NEVER breaks a sweat on those drums. He's the most relaxed drummer I have ever seen.

  • @OutbackBros He may be relaxed man, But he's Right On Time every time. The band was Always super Tight. Very Professional. Man, Stevie got that tone, Nobody has surpassed that tone since him.

  • I love all of Stevies music but the addition of Reese really filled out the sound.

  • Guys, the reason the audience is like that is because, Stevie's playing is so god like that they don't even know how to react to its amazing-ness ;)

  • "he sold his soul"

  • The first video I've ever seen of Stevie when I was about 4 years old. Thank you Stevie for everything you gave me and showed me the right way! Love you forever!

  • Love that old strat. Stevie you are a gun!

  • WOO!

  • It was in the days when you got kicked out out for dancing in the pubs etc thank god for the early 70s when we started the revolution lol but then late/mid 70s were to stoned to move but enjoy we did haha...maybe they are but I doubt it

  • played the shit outta that guitar

  • Who is the pianist? He's fantastic

  • @jamandcreamy That's Reese Wynans. Joined the trio around 'mid-80s and worked with Stevie til his death. DT was such a tight, hot band!

  • @jamandcreamy Reese Wynans, he joined Double Trouble later on

  • Stevie, .. La Madre que te pario !!! Dios se lleva lo mejor !!!

  • stevie ray u tha best blues rock and 'stevie ray blues'.. sadd u had to leave so early..

  • this is around the peek of his drug and alcohol abuse

  • SAY WHAT!

  • Amen #3!

  • AMEN #2!

  • Amen!

  • Stevie at his smokin' best !!!! Can I have an Amen ?

  • Mehmen

  • amen

  • @joe6pak Amen man loooooooool

  • @Geepster, this is Stevie's original song. What the hell are you babling about Rainy Day by Jimi? That song has nothing to do with this song. Rainy Day maybe inspired Say What a bit, but that is all. It ain't that pretty much even similar. Both have plenty of wah-wah in it and many great lines of guitar playing, but that is all. Just listen carefully and you will notice that they are two completey different songs.

  • @grga888 Haha, I'd think if you have to listen carefully to two songs to tell that they are different then I think they're pretty similar.

They are similar, but I like say what! more.

  • Not even close, you should probably need to clean your ears to realise it jackass cause they are not even similar at all. They are two completely different songs. As I said, both have plenty of wah-wah in it and many great lines of guitar playing, but that is all.

  • @grga888 The structure of the songs are different, but there are a few similar licks. You shouldn't take it so personally that people hear similarities. And btw, if you have to clean your ears to hear a difference, they ARE pretty similar. Don't get me wrong, SRV is my favorite artist, but I don't know why you take offence at me saying there ARE similarities.

Listen to that lick at 1:20 here, then listen to about 5:15 in rainy day. I know you aren't going to deny that that is THE SAME LICK.

  • @grga888 Actually I guess that would be 2:04 in Still Raining, still dreaming. I reburned my cd of it and merged the two together, so I forgot for a second that they are two separate songs.

  • @grga888

You're a fucking clown. SRV was always quite candid about "Say What!" being an homage to "Rainy Day, Dream All Day." Yet you feel the need to write that "they are two different songs." Of course they are, douche-bag.

  • That ninth chord with wah and tremolo picking that's also in Rainy Day Dream just makes my day :^)

  • you're really dumb.

  • the best

  • I love him!!!!

  • How can they stay in their seats? Stevie pouring it and they're not moving. Stunned maybe. Maybe Stevie just makes it look too easy? :-)
