We saw him here in the UK about 10 years back at Chelmsford, Essex when he was doing his "Stately Homes" tours at some of the great classic country homes of the UK.
We were so close & the venue so small I sort of convince myself that we were watching a tribute act.
Elton has always had a love for the London East Ender's that now live in Essex & Essex is one of his spiritual homes - He kicked off his shoes that magical night!

@hollywoodbock Agreed, I don't expect to ever get up front again as most venues are not like the Hollywood Palladium.

@1caninelover Makes up for sitting outside the Inglewood Forum all night long to get tix a mile from the stage when I was a (albeit) stupid teenager in 1979 & didn't know everything was sold thru 'ticketron'
