  • We did experience an earthquake with the epicenter being Huff, ND. Get the facts right everyone!

  • When I read the comments on this film, I'm glad I don't live in the states. There's some natters out there. Blaming those of different skin colour as if that's something you can change. I cannot believe that some folk even in this day and age could hold still hold the wrong beliefs on the common man of whatever colour, creed, name. May your god forgive you.

  • with all the riff-raff the oil field booms have drawn in, ND isnt such a nice place anymore.

  • @siliconwolverine Well, since the oil boom is happening in the north-western corner of the state thats kind of hard to say, huh?

  • 2:25 walsh hall represent!

  • this is fucking bullshit that ending about the ppl of north dakota caring about eachother.... wtf? maybe the older ppl but the younger ones are more worried about getting drunk or doing drugs or ripping eachother off than caring how anyone else is doing

  • @stonerclowns thats the niggers that live in north dakota.

  • @killyoubitch27 Haha... You are so stupid. We white folks aren't innocent, we've done more harm to the whole world than any other race.

  • @killyoubitch27 I'm guessing you & stonerclowns run in the same crowd. Maybe ignorance & prejudice are the only things you know/understand....please keep that to yourself & do not have contact with children.

  • @stonerclowns interesting that you make an accusation such as that given your user-name. I would dare say maybe you have been in the wrong crowd? Having lived in ND off & on (mostly on) for 48 years, I have actual experience with the people of ND. You are very mistaken & I feel pity for you.

  • @B4wolfpak ok, that is a valid point on the username... i should change it but i have too much involved with it. it's over 8 years old. haven't smoke in over 3 years.

i never said that the older generation here is bad. in contrast they are acutally very good people. but on the other hand the younger generation is very bad. and when i say the ppl of north dakota i should have specified. my generation and those younger than me are not that good of people and don't care for eachother

  • @B4wolfpak but they are the people that will soon become the ones running things. i envy the older generations and wish that mine could learn from yours. but my generation is too ignorant to lean away from their selfish and arrogant ways of life. i did smoke pot in the past and have no problem admitting it. but so has a lot of you generation. i leaned away and so dd they. but mine is much worse than yours ever was. and as things progress the generations of humans are becoming worse and its sad

  • @B4wolfpak and please don't pity me. i grew up in california and i have run with a lot of the "wrong crowd' but that gives me enlightenment on who are "bad and good" people. i've lived in both worlds and know how both are. i've done things i'm very ashamed of and deeply regret... but i've also done things i'd never take back in a mlllion years. i actually pity those that are one sided in their arguements. i know both worlds and i speak on both. but i do admit that my first comment was one sided

  • @B4wolfpak and forthat i apologize. but i do understand that if my generation and those younger don't change this world is going to go a lot farther south than it already has. and will travel faster and faster as the years go. i may only be 22 years old but i see things with a lot different light than most people do and honestly i don't blame tv or video games or none of that. i blame the human race for being so greedy on more than just money. we've always wanted to have it all, it's killing us

  • I would hate to hear what they had to say now...especially about Western ND

  • State drink is milk?

  • @killyoubitch27.ahame on you. people of north dakota, like myself, have a reputation of being kind and respectful. you're giving us north dakotans a really bad name. they must have seen something in north dakota to want to be here. there isn't any place in the world you can go without immigrants. and that itself is a beautiful thing. its a small world after all. accept it.

  • @Lxs2323 We had 5 Rape's in grand forks in the last year, countless more burglaries...and all the suspects are black. And the jail is packed full of them. I am not giving North Dakotans a bad name, they are. open your eyes dumb-ass

  • @killyoubitch27 Rape... what a shitty last name.

  • @bjl7051 ?

  • @Lxs2323 don't take this the wrong way please. but when you sa that you can't go anywhere else in the world without immigrants that sounds really racist. i'm not saying you are but your upset with his racism and that also sounds racist. just pointing that out. writtin language and spoken can be portrayed in way too many ways and not necessarily they ways they were meant. i've learned that all too well. just trying to inform not criticize

  • I wish that there were a whole bunch more articles like this out there. I would love to see an end to all the unemployed trash from across the nation moving to ND to try and take advantage of our economy and jobs, they are running down our great state. So to all the outsiders who want to move here to try and get jobs, please look somewhere else.

  • ruueu

  • While in the AF I was stationed at Minot AFB for four years. It was a great time, personally, since I'm not one to let the cold ruffle my feathers. I stopped at a gas station on my way out afield with windchill howling at -70 below zero. Even the NoDaks working behind the counter said "You must be kidding!" "Nope", I replied..."Just a little crazy is all." :)

  • The state motto is, "you get out of life what you put into it".....that has been my motto all of my life.....Make fun of us all you want.....But when the chips are down the North Dakotans will come through....We carry the heritage of Teddy Roosevlt......And we are his ROUGHRIDERS.....WE NEVER QUIT....

  • Best kept secret is right, keeps the movie stars out.

  • I spent a year living in Grand Forks & cannot really see how youngish single people would be very happy there at all (Especially if coming from larger suburban areas). Few jobs pay well, housing in the city of Grand Forks is not that inexpensive & its rather small town in a bad way. Honestly, every state in the nation will offer the same as G.F. does.

    To each his own...

  • @djarum41 Trust me when I say, Grand Forks & Fargo are like polar opposites in opportunities & social life. I have lived in both "cities" & it's like night & day, even though they are 80 miles apart. Fargo is where you want to be as a "younger" person.

  • north dakota kicks ass!!

  • I used to live in North dakota... thanks for posting this! I hate it when people talk about ND in a bad way when they havent even been there! Its kinda funny but it is offensive! Go Fighting Soiux!! yea

  • my husband retired from the army, we choose to return to ND to raise our children. I have found out in the last 2 months I have cancer ,who rallied around my family? the people from my tiny town of 600 people in NORTH DAKOTA raising monrey for us to travel to and from Minot for the next 7 weeks for radaition. Yes we are a cold state but where else would you find the warmest people in the whole world ONLY IN NORTH DAKOTA

  • ndgal1953, I'm not at all surprised by what your ND friends did. My sister married a ND guy in 1984 and I've visited the state several times in the last 20+ years. She and her family live just outside of Fargo, with its wealth of hospitals and universities. It's a great place to raise a family, and the people are the among the friendliest and most decent I've ever met.

  • and you know, it gets so hot in ND, but does anyone care? Jeez.

  • FlowerEaters, at least you know that summer's hot in ND. Most people here in the East seem to think it snows there 365 days a year!

  • ROCK THE FUCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!

  • I thank you for posting this. I live in Hebron ND and I love it. I have moved twice and always end up coming back to ND! Thanks again.

  • I had the joy of visiting a friend up in Fargo a few months ago with my husband. After spending a week-end there, I told my husband I could easily see living there. I loved it there, and people in North Dakota should be proud of their state.

  • And no income tax :)

  • @bigtec91 ....that person was obviously not a resident of North Dakota, where we most certainly pay income tax. Maybe they Googled "dakota" & saw "south" & figured we were one & the same...which we are MOST assuredly NOT!

  • @affectivity Since when? Lived here for 30+ years....maybe you have us confused with South Dakota, or Texas? lol!

  • Thank you for posting this, I wasn't even aware ABC News did this story.

  • Great story NG! Keep the people out! Our hunting really sucks, so if you are from out of state don't come!

  • I grew up in Grand Forks, ND. Although I have been gone for many years, I'll never forget the innate "goodness" of these hard-working, God-loving, family-oriented people. If I had children, I would wish to raise them in North Dakota too. Linda Brown

  • Thank you ABC...I left 11 years ago, now live in Beverly Hills, CA....could never go back to the cold, but how I miss the honest hardworking people. My father use to say, ND educates it's young to leave. Say you are from ND and you will have a job in 10 minutes.

I am very proud to say "I grew up in ND" and my employer thanks you for sending me to CA.

  • I had the pleasure of living in Enderlin and Nome, ND a while back, and it was a wonderful experience that I still recount to people as one of the best times of my adult life. "America's best kept secret" is the statement that best describes it! People form judgements based on views from afar. I thank the people of North Dakota for being the most friendly, open, genuine and hard working that I have ever met! GO NODAK!

  • Their is more to ND than what meets the eye----------thanks ABC news----I am proud to be from ND too!!!!

  • lol, what did we get up? Our "dander"?

At any rate, I'm proud to be from ND.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • haha never experiance an earthquake until national geographic came along thats actually funny.... right on North Dakota!!
