@1972FordF150 Ok then if it's thick grass then the 8 tooth would probably be better, and if blackberry is the thickest stuff you have to cut then the 8 tooth will still do that well. The 80 tooth blade is good for harder woody material like bushes etc.
wait i agree this is the most powerfulest trimmer /brushcutter but i thought stihl made one called a fs 250r and 250 (the one with bike handles like yours) didnt they and yes it was under trimmer /brushcutter
@YoJoPIMP yeah we have a fs250 it old but it is much better than our other fs130. more power and its the old two stroke not a 4,mix. which is a two stroke but designed to have low down torque as aposed to the top end torque of the old engines. i prefer the old fs250 engine it is brill, we run it on 50:1 mix using husquvana hp oil which makes a lovely almost nitro smell when its running and hot. just put autofeed head on fs250 too, it is fantastic and saves so much time.
Yup, the 250's power output is 2.5hp from a 40.2cc motor versus 1.4hp from a 36cc on the 130. I wanted to get a FS250r, but it's uber expensive, it's about $599 + tax here, so I opted for the smaller 4-mix , the 90r
The 550 is more powerful, however it is classed by stihl as a "Clearing Saw" for removing shrubs and maybe even small trees, not for strimming grass etc.
I've said it is stihl's most powerful strimmer/brushcutter, which it is.
The 550 is definitley more of a saw than a strimmer
Love the video. I've reviewed an alternative.

A poly head would last much longer and cut more faster.

Please forgive me if I've got this wrong but the fs450 is much more powerful isn't it?

@MRWHITE3535
Yup, it would be...but those are these are clearing saw models and almost double the price of a fs130, so naturally it would be a lot better.
However in terms of professional brushcutters.. the fs250/250r is much more powerful than a 130

I have a question. Would a 8 tooth or 80 tooth blade be better for cutting small brush ? not even 1 inch around.
1972FordF150 8 months ago
@1972FordF150 Hi, I would go with the 80 tooth blade, I think the 8 tooth one might get snagged a bit too easy :)

@gpzDave I am pretty much only going to be cutting black berry's and maybe some really thick grass so an 80 tooth blade would work better than an 8 ?
