Observation decks are not something I run to when I'm out sightseeing. People keep trying to drag me to them while I'd much rather have my feet firmly on the ground often clutching an alcoholic beverage especially these days.

You oughta go up to the top of the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku. They have a Jazz Club at the top floor from which you can see the curvature of the Earth. You can have a lovely strong drink up there, unlike those boring observation decks.
