  • that boy could evoke some america he could yes sir

  • Excellent!!

  • my favourite!!! :) great upload!!

  • love the country side of elvis

  • Very pretty video, and a sweet message about his family and early youth. Just real nice.

  • Is this before or after the Anne Murray version?

  • @leafyutube After, Anne Murray recorded it in '69, Elvis in '71

  • greatest singer ever

  • The author of this great tune, Gene MacLellan wrote some terrific songs like Put your Hand in the Hand, The Call and many others. Sadly he committed suicide several years ago. I think he would have been proud of how Elvis treated this wonderful song he left us with...Thanks Gene, and I really wish you would have stuck around longer.

  • Love it god bless Elvis

  • This is wonderful! I'm most familiar with Anne Murray's version. I never knew that Elvis recorded this song.

  • @victorbrunswick; It was recorded on the 1971 RCA Victor LP Album '' Elvis Country, I'm 10,000 years Old ! '' and was a hit single on the billboard chart in 1971

  • @wwwonderful Not in our heart's. <3

  • One of my favourite songs, sung by my favourite man. Never get sick of hearing that beautiful voice.

  • @wen1043 You took the words right out of my mouth !!!!

  • love this song

  • Dang i`m lesbian but this man is soo handsome!!!..

    Elvis Forever!

  • @karateslaginnek little to much information dear...! lol...!

  • @kentucky9000 oops sorry..;-)

  • Such a handsome man!!!Such an amazing man, inside out!!!! We love you Elvis

  • Hey, folks! Get this. Did you know that "Snowbirds" is the Floridans' colloquialism for the winter holidaymakers who come down from the frozen north, particularly Canucks. This sad little song is about a lover jilted by someone who came, loved and left... The King sings it with heart 'n' soul. Yeah. Thanks, Elviskos.

  • I've been listening to this song and thought only girls sing it but a fella could as well.

Then in the side collun I spotted Elvis was listed. Great he wasn't the King for nothing.

  • 0:36 das ist einen juden...

  • "I ain't no hillbilly singer." Elvis Presley

  • Elvis the king forever.

  • It's not Elvis's song, although he sings it amazingly of course :) It's Anne Murray's song.

  • Elvis version is simply amazing he had it man he had it way better than Anne Murray's version i mean ...listen to his voice and how the song flow!

  • Elvis loved his country roots.

  • The King does it again. There is nothing he can't sing.

  • @vilmad007 I was thinking the same thing. This song is wrong for him but it gets it anyway.

Still prefer Anne Murray on this...

  • @radioman970 Oh...meant to add that I prefer Murray since it's my mother dearest's fav song. heh!

  • A snow bird is a canadian that go's south for the winter, it's not a bird, and that's what Anne Murray.. was saying in the Gene MacLellan song

  • @beanie41 It doesn't refer to anything of the kind

  • @zalmbreggin it means what i said it means.

  • Comment removed

  • @beanie41 While the expression "snowbird" is used to describe a Canadian who goes south for the winter, the subject of this song has nothing to do with that at all, as the most cursory scan of the lyrics will confirm.

  • mr presley is the best of the best no one well take hes place

  • I ate him.

  • Let me pump this very loud so i do not have to listen to filthy rap my teenagers a listening to .

  • When we wake up to the truth of life, inspired music like this will emerge and flourish again, and all the uninspired crap that people call "music" these days will fade away and be forgotten. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.

  • ! LOVE YA ELVIS !

  • The King of country music

  • Thank you.

  • Elvis sang every genre of music so well. He is the King!

  • @1977hmdv Hey I agree with you 100%....the King of music and will always be the King 1949sorful

  • The KING, MISS HIM

  • I've just given this song my best shot and uploaded my own version of this beautiful song only to realise even more just how damn good Elvis was. You don't fully appreciate his incredible voice until you try singing some of his recordings. He was, is, and forever will be just the absolute best. Nothing and nobody can even come close.

  • This song was written by the late and great singer, songwriter Gene Maclellan. He launched Ann murray,s career.

  • Elvis the king forever.

  • GREAT SONG BY ELVIS!!!

  • ANNE MURRAY FTW!!!

  • Hell yea "I was born about ten thousand years ago" is playin at the end !

  • elvis was and is and always will be the greatest

rock, blues, you name it he was simply the best

  • elvis mom doesn't look too happy in most of the pics!

  • @MrSpringtime22

She didn't like all the attention Elvis started getting. She was sick about it and it finally got too much for her when he left for the army. Poor woman. Elvis wouldn't be here if it wasn't for her though.

  • too many god damn fuckers and loosers around him that even live today THEY DESERVE HELL and they will get it !! I AM SURE !

  • Wow!

I did not know that Elvis sang this song.

I only know the version by Anne Murray.

Hm. Ya learn somethin' every day.

  • "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS WHERE EVER YOU ARE. MAY GOD BLESS YOU MY LOVE.

  • Happy Birthday to Elvis and my mother Rose. She passed away on October 16th of severe Alzheimer's and Leukemia, two months after the anniversary of his death. She lived here until 1 month before she died. In her room was a photo of Elvis very young, placed there by the woman who shared the room with her. She was born seven years before, and she LOVED HIM and cried every time she saw or heard him since his death. Now, she gets to celebrate her birthday with him today and forever!

  • Actually my mom is a huge Elvis fan and Anne murray fan too. Anne Murray made this song a big hit and Elvis' favorite female singer was Canada's own Anne Murray maybe that was the reason he decided to record this amazing song!!!!! Just a little bit of trivia for you all!!!!!!

  • the greatest

  • I'm a big Elvis fan, but I can't remember the title from the song at the end,

    What is it?

  • @geakkeharry

Hold on to your hat, cos the title is a good one:

"I Was Born About Ten Thousand Years Ago" Honest. I kid you not.

  • @HEARTofARASHI

I forgot to say, you can search for it here on YT and hear the whole song.

  • Beautiful

  • What an absolute beautiful piece of music E.A.P gave to the world.

  • I dont want to start an internet riot but... Elvis does a great job with this song, but I honestly think that Ann murrays original version is better! Check her out singing it on the tube & you will see what I mean...

  • Actually the song was written by Gene Maclellan form Canada-thats the original. He was born in Quebec and until he died he live on Prince Edward Island.

  • @56pw wot time does the riot start??

  • @56pw wot time does the riot start ????

  • @56pw You and me both :) the king rocks, but Anne's version is the best...

  • @56pw I agree totally. Elvis definitly has a place in music history, and did this song very well. But Annes version is the one I will always remember. Great song, brings back memories.

  • @56pw Honestly, Sorry, but I can not agree with you ... In my opinion, Elvis gave a show again in this song ... each die for your taste ...

  • @56pw I agree with you even though I have always liked Elvis songs.

  • @56pw You are quite right. He may be the king, but not of this song. Her version was so light and uplifting. It should never be tampered with. No riot from me!!

  • It is the most beautiful voice ever and it will stay that way forever. I have heard the voice since the sixties and will hear it from time to time for the rest of my life. Its a voice i heard first time when my brother played it on his record player so it even reminds me of a special time with my brother from that time. My brother said i could play his records when i wanted so i used them when i was sad and happy cause Elvis made songs for every mood so to speak.

  • One of the best songs of all time, a king who can sing anything from rock n roll to country music, remarkable.

  • @frkable :So true! I listened to this and just said to husband that there isnt a song out there that Elvis couldnt sing.

  • i love this song :P

    its so pure

  • amazing love it so much! <3 elvis elvis elvis elvis ! <3 love u !

  • elvis looks like his mother.

  • President Jimmy Carter:"His music and his personality, fusing the styles of white country and black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense, and he was a symbol to people the world over of the vitality, rebelliousness, and good humor of his country."

  • O Εlvis παντα θα ζει !!!

  • Great job.

  • Elvis athis best!

  • This sux.

  • @Peikk0o just like you

  • Ahhhhhh.......American studios. Chips Moman and Reggie Young's sitar. Or I would lay odds.

  • many thanks it so awsome

  • The most attractive man with a voice to match!...

  • Elvis was the most beautiful person with the biggest heart. He helped anyone who needed it. He had generosity, courtesy, humour, style, charisma. He was loving, humble, and extremely giving.

As Little Richard said: "Elvis was God-given, there's no other explanation. A Messiah comes around every few thousand years, and Elvis was it this time"

No one and Nothing will or has Ever come close to him. Elvis Presley has earned the title KING, and he will remain in that category forever!

  • great song im a huge fan i wonder if his mother didnt pass away when she did would his life had turned out the way it did she was the only one elvis really listen to with them being so close and i think it was sick what dee was saying about elvis and his mum after elvis had passed away but love the song

  • Also, to his fans (and I am proud to be one) he is remembered for every aspect of his music, personality, films and concerts, through the good and the not-so-good.

That doesn't detract from anyone else who's come along since, by the way, but Elvis paved the way, and kept on rocking in his own way till the end. He is THE legend.

  • What a lovely song this is, and Elvis makes it his, like he did with everything he ever touched.

Wonderfully talented man, God Bless You x

  • Wonderfull song about that snowbird. It is a bird that loves the snow, and Elvis captured it very well in this song. I have a lot of memories of that bird, it is white whith black stripes.

  • Very pretty song, well sung too. lol

  • Good job again, Elviskos

  • he sings like an angel

  • A beautiful tribute to the King - thanks, I love it, so pleasant!!

  • Radio Pampa~+~+~*

  • it's so sad that you hardly see his mother smile in any of the pictures. i believe that if she would've lived him an pricilla would probly still have been married.

  • Such a nice and feel good song. Makes me sad and chearfull at the same time.

  • Not bad. However, it is a cover of Canada's Anne Murray's breakout song (written by Gene McLellen, if I am not mistaken).

  • I love this meaningful song!

  • Great song Great singer, but like so much of his work ,very much over produced.

  • elvis you sing it so well --your the best

  • A man who never spends time with his family can never truly be a man

  • @eaglestalon92 Really? All I thought was that it took an X and Y chromosome.

  • @illusionistdave haha yea that does it

  • Wonderful video.

I noticed, in the video, the mom always has a sad look. Why?

  • love this man love this song!

  • Elviskos, thanks for all this pictures you share with us.

  • Im irish. And love elvis. He wrote personally to pp here that was in hospital. He treasured all his fans. Wherever the came from.. I was eleven the day he passed on. I cried all day. Was like yesterday. No singer ever since make pp idolise another human being as much

  • I believe his Mama was ill, and he couldn't save her for all his money, which broke his heart, and he never got over it really , . It is good that he had his wife and daughter to love him later. Love him, x

  • lets spread this song. the irish should love it. up the micks. x

  • The "king" covering a canuck-awesome

  • BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL SONG, thank you

  • Gene maclellan was the one who wrote this song. A great song writer from prince Edward island Canada.

  • The most accomplished voice of all time....only man titled a 'master artist" in 5 Genres of music. That is vocal mastery and artistry my friends. That's why his voice is studied at universities like Harvard. His voice is truly a phenomenon. Bet you didn't know that! Also many believe the most beautiful voice also.

  • @waianapagirl I have to agree that Elvis was a great artist.Though I think unfair to say his was a better voice than alot of others.Roy orbison for example was reputedly one of Elvis' favorites for a very good reason. There where in that era dozens of equally talented vocalists,

  • @waianapagirl i think i was more the way he looked

but also having a good voice didnt harm

  • his mamma didn't look to happy in the photographs.

    worried about elvis.

  • wonderful pictures

  • Wow! Never heard this. Very similar to Anne Murray's version--I wonder who was first. Thanks for posting.

  • @MrTrashcan1 Anne murray was first (it's her song).

  • @onlyrock1 And Elvis was best. What's your point?

  • @illusionistdave I don't want to get into a huge youtube "thing" here. By my point is that, this isn't that great of a cover, and the original is clearly best. Think about it, Anne Murray...from Canada...singing about snow/birds.

  • @onlyrock1 And we don't have snow and birds in the USA? lmfao! hahahahaha

  • @illusionistdave Well you only completely missed the point. I don't picture a guy from Mississippi singing about snowbirds. I don't get how you thought I implied that you guys don't have snow or birds. That's ridiculous.

  • @illusionistdave haha! I love that your comment was flagged as spam, that's golden. If you couldn't seem to grasp the oh-so-complicated message I was sending to you, here's the readers-digest version for "illusionist-friendly eyes"

    1. This version shouldn't have existed. Apparently, I'm not the only commenter to find this.

    2. Elvis should never have stepped out of his "Blue Sued Shoes" and into Canadian snow.

And for all you haters, I actually do like Elvis. Just not a Folk-Elvis song is all.

  • @onlyrock1 Who are you to say who can sing certain songs? Have you ever thought that he got Anne Murray's permission to sing it? Duh!

  • @illusionistdave I'm not saying he didn't have permission. I'm saying it's a garbage cover-that shouldn't have existed. How is this so hard for you to understand? I even gave you the reader's digest version.

  • @onlyrock1 And who are you to say that it is garbage?

  • @illusionistdave Let me ask you something. Would you have rather seen The Beatles sing Rap or create music history. That's what this cover is like, in a minuscule scale. Pretty evident man. This is like, an incredibly over-produced version of what should be a simple song. Now i realize you're a die-hard fan of elvis...which makes this even more confusing...but this is just crazy.

  • @onlyrock1 The Beatles might as well have sung Rap. I would say their impact on music was next to nothing. Anyway, the problem I have is that you only see Elvis as a person who did one genre, which is not what a real critic or historian of Elvis sees. Elvis did every genre imaginable back then.

  • @illusionistdave Elvis only did do one genre well, that's where he made it. You essentially just proved yourself as an Elvis fan and nothing else. If you're saying The Beatles did nothing for musical history, then you're so wrong. It's not just me saying this, but factual history. The Beatles not only wrote !Their OWN Songs!!, but are still continuing to influence musicians. The Beatles didn't do it alone, naturally, Elvis was one of their greatest influences. Stats don't tell lies.

  • @onlyrock1 Correct. Stats don't tell lies. 14 grammy nominations. 3 wins-for Gospel btw. More fan clubs than any other entertainer WORLDWIDE. Best-selling solo artist of all-time. But no, your'e correct. Elvis did only one genre well. Riiiiiiight.

  • @illusionistdave Yay, now look at real statistics. Oh, how about actual consumer statistics? Or live concerts. Aw damn. Elvis looks a bit more outdated than he already is. Sorry brother, looks like the 1950s aren't what they used to be. Nice try though, seems the illusionist skills are "not what they once were"..?

  • @onlyrock1 Make fun of my name again and I'll kick your ass. Now I'm talking RECORD SALES. What are YOU talking about? I'm talking about the FIRST entertainer (1973, not 1950s dumbass) to do a concert via satellite. Bring your statistics on jackass.

  • @illusionistdave So you're talking about the Beatles 1967 appearance worldwide satellite appearance. The first inter-linked satellite appearance? Come on Quasimodo, kick my ass, I'd love to see that. I've found MULTIPLE record sales accounts, INCLUDING the RIAA (Which I graciously sent to your garbage channel) of the Beatles on top! You've got nothing, must hurt to be third to Garth Brooks. I'm talking all time winnings here brother, you're on the losing street.

  • @onlyrock1 You are mistaken about the RIAA stats or you're lyng. Elvis sold a billion record units worldwide. He IS the best selling artist of all time. Period. That is not something that is made up. Also "Aloha from Hawaii is a music concert that was headlined by Elvis Presley, and was broadcast live via satellite on January 14, 1973. It was the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history.[1] In 1973, Presley staged the first concert broadcast via satellite."

  • @illusionistdave I honestly don't give a fuck. The Beatles did one of the first live broadcasts of a song by a musical band in 1967. Nobody ever cites Elvis as a "source of inspiration" because he didn't write his on hits. How is that talant. It's NOT. If you weren't such a massive douche bag you would find the RIAA statistics I'm looking at and notice that you're living in your own world. Speaking of which, WE'RE ON AN ANNE MURRAY COVER VIDEO.

  • @onlyrock1 I didn't say live broadcasts. I said live worldwide broadcast via satellite. Way to read there, genius. You're full of shit if you think no one says Elvis was a source of inspiration. John Lennon himself said "before Elvis there was nothing." Your'e making up your RIAA stats because I'm looking at the things right now. Elvis sold more records worldwide than any other artist. Period.

  • @illusionistdave Read your mail, dipshit, that'll set your RIAA woes right. PLUS i already said that the Beatles cited him as an inspiration. Fucking way to follow along you fucking curly tard. You're just a typical block headed fuck, obviously, as every comment on your channel agrees.

  • @onlyrock1 Read my response to your mail, dipshit. You were wrong. I just proved it. Read my reply about it.

  • @illusionistdave Don't worry folks. Quasi-Frodo just got his. Finally.

  • @onlyrock1 What's that supposed to mean, cocksucker?

  • @illusionistdave Ooooohh! The illusion comes alive! (too bad it's no frampton comes alive)

  • @onlyrock1

Actually to say that Elvis only sang one genre is probably the most ignorant comment you've so far come up with, and just underlines your abject ignorance on the general subject of music, and that of Elvis in particular. I keep seeing comments re Elvis not writing songs. Well so what? He was a vocalist, probably the finest of his era. End. Of.

Read a bit and then come back and talk about it.

Tip: if you're going to start a debate, get your facts right first, sunshine.

  • @margondine I never said he only did one genre. What I'm saying is, in the big picture of modern-esque music, Elvis isn't remembered for his ann-murray covers and all that. He's remembered for being the "king of rock and roll"-setting the stage for those to come. Know what i mean?

    I know my facts. Sunshine.

  • @onlyrock1

    This is what you said:

"Elvis only did do one genre well, that's where he made it".

I mean, it's simply not true. He did soul, gospel, rock, rockabilly, ballads, country, and semi-operatic traditional songs from European culture and even sang songs based on famous classical pieces. How can you say he only made it one one genre? I think he's the only artist to be honoured in every existing Hall of Fame.

He played a huge part in music history, as any musician today will acknowledge.

  • @margondine As i've previously mentioned, I completely agree with you about his part in musical history.

Personally, and quite honestly from most people i talk to, he's not remembered for anything but his helping create rock-and-roll as we know it. I'm not saying he did anything else poorly. All i was saying is what I feel he was remembered for best was rocknroll. (and my previous arguments were more against whatever that youtuber was-than the version of this song, it's not even that bad!)

  • @onlyrock1 well that made me laugh

  • good ole elvis

  • katapliktiko

  • cool. I'd never heard this version. Pretty much the same as Anne Murray's version, but a good song either way.

  • Respect for Elvis...

Jessie And Elvis are me heroes!!

And Vernon and Gladys are me inspiration

  • Beautiful family, beautiful voice, beautiful pics, we love you Elvis. Jessie

  • great pictures of elvis, my uncle was in germany with elvis in the army although they just knew each other vaguely but he was identical to elvis and use to have people ask him for autographs and sometimes he would play it off but most of the time he would just tell them he wasnt him, great video, thanks

  • only anne murray can sing this.

  • @issurchaim Obviously that's not correct because we just heard Elvis do it.:)

  • great canadian song! good job Mr. Maclennan

    <
