  • lennon never no apology Cynthia !never

  • What a great show when you can get up and sing Woman is the Nigger of the World and its all just a typical night on the Dick Cavett Show! Bukowski said he preferred this show to other talk shows because all the others were like eating your own vomit.

  • john the politically correct rich white male dig em hippy boy

  • Well done John @ 5:35 to 7:30

  • Shame he didn't leave more money to his first wife and son before saying that.

  • Do you guys ever take time and think about the people we've killed? Do u think John Lennon, Martin luther king, malcom X, Black Panthers etc etc were all just killed just because thats the way it happened to turn out. I certainly dont think so and if you look at and read what the government has done to these people behind the scenes. Its pretty obvious they didn't like those people and thats why our system produces what it does "garbage in and garbage out" as george carlin would say.

  • Problem with people is we need leaders, we wouldnt be able to do anything by ourselves. We are so reliant on for exampe the government, leaders like John and yoko, black panthers to i guess do stuff for us. I mean people were making a change cause there was so much openness that people could really see it. Ever since then the government doesn't want another awakening like what happened in the 60's and i gotta say they've done a pretty good job of herding the sheep. BAA BAA!

  • The Fascists i.e. the people who have the US on its knees today in 2011, the perpetrators of 911, the Kennedy assassins etc etc realised that Lennon would be a big problem for them in the future. Could you imagine the awareness that Lennon could have mustered against the 911 official story ? These assholes plan decades ahead and when they couldn't stop him from staying in the US the plan for his assassination was hatched.

  • Shirly McClane had the hots for John.

  • @Beatlejoose56 lol who didn't?

  • is this before or after the Dick interview where john has his army shirt on?

  • @gringolazlo After - that was part 1, and they're talking about it in the beginning of this interview. :)

  • @TheTypicalGirl: Speaking of misusing words, maybe you should figure out what fascism means.

  • Peace isn't profitable so they killed it literally. It's time we woke up and faced the real enemy, dismantle the Military Industrial Complex

  • jimmy hendrix was a nigger...jesus christ and grandma too...patti smith group...hehe...just a word...just like fuck is a word...dontcha love it???

  • Good example of the inherent fascism of liberal thinking. The bullying that takes place because one uses a word is plain evil. If John or anyone else wants to use the word "nigger" so what. You will not be able to bully people this way forever.

  • i hope America isn't still this backwards, cus i plan to move to America, but i smoke a hell of a lot of weed...weed is god given and peaceful!! take away man-made lethal weapons if u want peace

  • Song starts at 8:40

  • this interview breaks my heart

  • The band is darn funny

  • lol what the fuck did Yoko do to John Lennon! XD

  • John looks so thin here

  • Someone should've told Ono her drum is inaudible due to all the other instruments and Lennon's vocals drowning it out.

  • @rjakjr The drum is inaudible because the mike isn't on.

Her electric piano wasn't plugged in at all during the 'Live in New York' concert even though she is shown 'playing' it two hundred times during the film.

A talentless fraud- then and now.

  • @notmemate Wow is that true, Yoko's piano was not plugged in. You know I have watched, that concert myself and I always find it kind of strange how Yoko would play the keyboards. Its like she is not really playing at all, how did you find out this information.

  • @1365225- Lives of John Lennon by Albert Goldman, apparently one of the guys in Elephants memory (can't remember which) spilled the bit about the piano not being plugged in to the music press when good old caring and sharing Yoko stiffed them out of any royalties on the 'Live in NY' film.

But do not read this book if you hold Lennon in high regard- it portrays him fairly badly.

  • Jesus, way too much on his mind it seems.

  • i'm i the only one that this freezes up at 6:32 for? annoying...

  • John just goes up on stage and "does a John Lennon" :) dear John

  • John would have been a great talk show host

  • if you are honest, lennon was a pioneer and speerhead of that liberal amok-run that brought the modern world into the crisis of identity it is in today -- "immigration, limitless freedom, "racism", free the prisoners NOW and all that issues.

  • i don´t like it, but honestly john lennon was the seeerhead of mutlicultural socio-romanticism that brought the modern world to the state it is in today -- racism, freedom, free all prisoners for criminals are the salt of the earth and all that liberal amok-run

  • Pretentious bullshit then, and really shallow now. Celebrities were arrested for drug use for using drugs, not because they spoke for "peace".

  • @bookkeeper57 Obviously you haven't been paying much attention to this interview at all. This isn't about their arrest, this is about the reasons they weren't allowed in America. If you listened you would have heard that they mentioned their drug use and didn't understand why Mich Jagger, Keith Richards, George Harrison, etc were allowed to come and go as they pleased with drug arrests about the same time as theirs.

  • @JohnAndYokoEternally You're wrong, I heard that; along with precious little insight about why.

  • @JohnAndYokoEternally Pshhh especially Keith Richards you know? It's a wonder that man is still alive!

  • still remember when all of the green card incident was in full swing. The quality about John Lennon i admired most was his ability to see through anyone and identify BS! IMO though unfortuntely he could never identify the BS within himself or Yoko. All that aside, the person i admire on this clip is Dick Cavett's compassion for thier situation.

  • good clear picture.

  • John Lennon has this gaze that just...peers through you. Its so eerie. Like when he looks at the camera at 4:26

  • @AreyouLivinginAdream Wow. You're right...That's creepy. Could it be......SATAN???!!!!

  • @marvy1118 Haha I don't think its Satan..I think that's just the power of John Lennon...ooor the fact that he can't see very well.

  • i love how yoke thinks she's a real musician because she plays the bongos

  • i love how when he plays live all these years after the Beatles, he still stands how he did with them when he plays live lol. his legs spread apart and hunched over his guitar.

  • With all of his new-found awareness about women, I wonder if John ever apologized to Cynthia for being a derelict as a husband and a father.

  • @iwillstom Ya he did. Watch the "Imagine: John Lennon" documentary.

  • @iwillstom Wonder if the 4 or 5 husbands she had "AFTER" John "EVER" Apologized to her??? You really should Read Up on Cynthia Powell(Oh wait!! She still goes by LENNON..Hmmm...).

  • @JohnAndRowForever I don't need to know anything about Cynthia to know that John neglected her and her kid. Whatever kind of woman she was/is, it doesn't erase the fact that John was a hypocrite in many ways.

  • What an amazing couple. Both so intelligent, always fighting for peace...not just talking! True soulmates...

John, you are still missed!!! Thanks for your music, your art, your love!

Yoko, thanks for everything you're still doing today. I bow before you...

  • Did yoko not kno where they sell brushes and combs? They kno they could have done better with her hair.

  • I wish he had shot Yoko Ono instead so John could go back to Cyn and Julian

  • @MeninodeValpoi Let me answer for John:

"It's as if you're brain damaged or something, isn't it?"

    <3.

  • @typhoonjax OH NO sometimes it is that only emotions get better of us and anyhow though I hate Yoko I wouldnt kill her.

  • These Stars and Idols were the one's who were truly challenge the creation of the media, that is now in complete control of our society. No wonder he was assassinated by a brainwashed whack job! We all need to listen to this and think for ourselves.

  • oh come on please, whenever they gave interviews they came with papersheets and

issues and making big complaints about the cruelness of the world, i mean who needs that, i get more and more disgusted by these two stinkers,/ always biting someones calf

and all their provoked mini/scandals, just impossible

  • Wonderful, powerful, beautiful and highly important song.

Even today, in 2010, woman is still the nigger of the world in many countries.

Google: "Spousal abuse in the U.S.A."

    Congressman Ron Dellums:

"If you define niggers as someone whose life style is defined by others...Most of the people in America are niggers."

  • @Chexpeare lol HUH? youre more idiotic than MOC lol...huh what he say...sigh

we spend how much on public edu? please dont procreate ever

  • In all honesty aside from "the message" of women are d niggers n all dat....dat is one of the worst songs I have ever heard.... Dey must have been high as fuck or so fucked from being high before that they even though that song even merrited more than 3 people at max ever hearing that song.....

  • @akaheadpanda fuck you, you just don't know how yo aprecciate good music.

  • Who's the woman who speaks at 2:03? John Lennon kinda gives her a half ass thank u! lol

  • @lifestraight That was Shirley McLaine.

  • John was so misunderstood...

  • ( ´_ゝ`)<Sounds cool.

  • poor lennon he loved america and died in america RIP

  • @godverdmmeling Ah, of course. The djembe. Everyone should know that.

  • but he's stupid anyway!

  • If JL was deported,he stated he would have moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. If Nixon Got his way,he might be alive,+ talking away about the problems of today.

  • that "insertion" is so hilarious though. all of a sudden, it's like WTF

  • but he said it anyway!

  • my mouth is shut, stupid. i'm typing this.

  • crappy place to cut

  • John Lennon IS a legend...not hype at all.

  • I'm a woman and I never felt like a nigger.

You can tell Yoko put John up to this stupid song.

She's the organ grinder and he's the monkey.

She turned HIM into a nigger.

She is an unnecessary part of the band. Note how she beats that bongo. She's trying to steal the show.

When John was being interviewed, I wish she'd kept her mouth shut. Nobody cared what she had to say. Just John.

  • Maybe you should keep your mouth shut.

  • @migsly

everyone is entitled to have their own opinion. John Lennon, you, yoko as well. It'sa fact that woman are NIGGERS in a way. Certainly when you look at some religions...................

  • @migsly

And it's no bongo, its a djembe

  • Comment removed

  • The drummer is stiff as a board. You would think Lennon would had a better band.

  • OK, I will now simplify to an extreme level, why the word "Nigger" shouldn't be offensive.

There are no "bad" words. Only bad intentions.

You can say "Good Morning" to someone and make it sound like you want to kill them.

Sure, certain words (usually 4-letter words) provoke a strong reaction from a lot people, because they associate them with bad intent and negative emotions. But is that the words' fault? Can't we say ANY word in the right context? It's more offensive to be quiet...

  • Not suprisingly i bet most of us havent heard this song....I tottaly get what hes saying..........women can use other means to get athorita/power to get

  • Niggers, wogs, coons, Pakis, etc etc.

    What's in a name?

  • that thing with the bongo is just stupid...i mean it doesn't matter who plays what...they were trying to talk about the scandal because of a word(nigger)...and you guys just call him hypocrite and just talk about yoko and the bongo.....th truth is nothing's changed since that time..and most of people only make comments about the cover they dont really see deeper than that...^^

  • hpyocrite, he puts the woman on a bongo while men play all the real instruments... ;)

  • too bad that chinese chic here didnt do 'american idol'. I bet simon cowl would have loved her screaming tho. serious tho, i wonder if she knows judo?

  • uppitynigger: Man you are a fucking retard. Shes Japanese not Chinese.

  • yeah, whatever

  • Comment removed

  • Really? that has to be the worst song I've ever heard ! I get the point, probably still holds true today with women in the work force and in the middle east.

  • I've got the feeling that Yoko had about as much input into that song as I did.

All she does is stand there banging that drum, they could have employed a Chimpanzee to do exactly the same.

  • omg Lennon we miss you.. R.I.P

  • bloody hell, John never lets yoko get a word in edge ways in some of these interviews...

  • well yeah he loved her but she has never been the best public speaker..

  • If this was today, Foxnews, Sean Hannity, & Rush Limbaugh would have gone out of their way to tarnish John Lennon's name.

  • @ffairlane57 What an ignorant statement. You chose to name only conservatives that will tarnish his name? The liberal media would rape him.

  • @CtrlRm , this IS the liberal media.

  • that's a good song but for sum reason it's still pretty funny hearing john say "nigger"

  • hahaha so true

  • you idiot!

  • One person complains about the word nigger in a song and the network threatens to delete it? Those who govern us don't know shit. At least in this case. Abusive wielding of power.

  • Watching this incredible footage makes me feel that somehow our society has gone backwards since then. John and his viewpoint (and Shirley MacLaine's too) are needed now more than ever!

  • right on

  • I like how the mic boom keeps coming into view. Funny how that was acceptable back then.

  • Great post gferdinandus6, thanks! Could you also please tell us what year this interview is from?

  • show Part 1 (September 11, 1971)

    show Part 2 (September 24, 1971)

    show Part 3 (May 11, 1972)

  • Thanks!

  • Why did you cut the clip in the middle of Johns song???? You could have let him finish!

  • You can just continue watching the rest of the performance on the next part.

  • I miss John Lennon SO much.

  • i love them!

beautiful in love couple who spread truth and love

  • "Strong anti drug stand"? Not quite, but still worthy of remaining in the states.

  • what talent yoko has

  • great great footage

  • I love how John says "sos" all the time. He might be saying "so as", but meshing it into one word, I don't know. "... sos it helps explain it a bit." hehe
