  • the parkour in this is immense

  • this video is racisss

  • @TheToilet911 How?

  • *sigh* wish they had something like this in America.

  • no !!!! battlefield is way better cod is for children.

  • I think more important that space for sports uniquely is space for education. With the measures taken to raise the tuition fees in universities what they should be asking for is a way of opening opportunities for young people (not only sports related) to expand every capacity of their creativity in every aspect of life. To not seem "lazy" we need the production of ideas, perspectives and new ways of thinking, living and managing the world that make the difference for generations to come.

  • @FinallyImKath We're opening up spaces all over the UK and helping young people find opportunities to learn, improve and demonstrate all sorts of skills, in sport, culture and the arts. This could include space to educate, be educated and discuss ideas, for example through a workshop or public speaking, as well as space to practice and play sports. We hope that answers your query!

  • Wtf is the point of this they couldnt get there point across so im supposed to open my door and let some guys free run around it and some man to skip there? Really after the olympics are finshed these guys are gonna have a shit load of new facilites in london to use! And what do you mean you need space tbf you have enough free runners can just use the streets tbf poets dont really need space the boxers have there gyms and the skipper dude well he has his gym to!

  • @corey199713 We're working with space-holders to open up unused space and create opportunities for young people who are unable to find the space they need. Spaces can be anything, from an empty warehouse or shop, a field, an office, or virtual spaces such as a newspaper column or space on a website.

Freerunners for example often struggle to find space they are allowed to use, and may be moved on. We work with the owners of space to give the young people access. We hope that answers your query!

  • Haters got to hate , this a great idea and im amazed that even the idea of free runners in number 10 was even a possibility .WE do need more space for sport especially extreme sports for people who are not lazy gamers who think a kill ratio on a game is something to boast about

  • @pman1chnlx COD RULEZ!!!!

  • Guys, i know most of you wont read this , but im more commenting because i want to help the few that do, i know how many people love COD and battlefield and i know how many are amazing at sniping or gameplays or montages, so to all those people who just cant catch a break have a look at how my channel can help make you famous <3 if you need som help just pm me! <3 good luck everyone and i hope i can help make as many gamers famous as possible <3

  • i must admit, 10 downing street, I'd take petrol.

  • @nicolelyl fdff

  • Erm, what the hell is the point these kids are trying to make.. I can see their mouths moving but I can only hear blah, blah, blah

  • i prefer my sofa thanx......

  • 1:15 hicky?

  • I wanna see the episode with the boxer and David Cameron....

  • First thing i would do is take a big shit right in David Camerons cornflakes

  • I thought it was a pretty good video overall, I like the free runners, although im not a fan of letting them jump all over a place wich is one of the most historic buildings in the country.. seems a bit disrespectful to me. but i recon it's just me thinking that.. oh well. good video though.

  • god i hate this.

you can imagine some PR man pitching this idea to some stuffy minister with a stream of mastabatory buzz words. ''this will appeal to an audience that is young and diverse, youngly diverse and diversely young. ethically youthful and homosexually young.''

YOUNG, YOUNG, YOUTHY YOUNG, TEENAGERS, YOUNG PEOPLE, YOUTHSOME TEENAGER YOUNGNESS.....its fucking scratching my brain with a rusty nail :(

next it'll be Cameron's face on the fucking countdown clock.

  • @timmye00 I wished so, there might be some ideas that aren't completely nonsensical being exchanged.

  • No 10,controlled by Isreal Zionist Jews,Mr Camerons a zionist,check it out ppl,and Mr Blair,Research ppl.

  • yay, Subscibe 2 me! i have new videos coming soon!

  • Vote for the Chav Party.

  • WTF?

  • This is muddled at best. Too much visual focus on boxing and parkour. I don't even understand what they are asking for...my front room so the youth of today can fight and jump around? You would think that with all the money they spent on this they would have had hired some marketing expertise to give this focus and direction.

  • We are a Nation of couch-potatoes... What are you people talking about?

  • ABANDON is such a strong word.....maybe just, LIMIT, the use

  • I'm moving to the UK as soon as i graduate highschool.

You guys have so much more than i have here, so many more approtunities, and such great things over there, i feel that i belong over there more then i do here.

So i hope you will have this forever, keep up the great work you guys.

PS Phil brought me here. <3

  • @KittyKat152 The UK is great :) Yeah there are some rough parts and we are in a financial crisis but so is pretty much every country. We have a great accepting culture over here, music industry is second to none and we are all funny and like drinking tea, we have some of the best football teams in the world, London is one of the most incredible places with great energy wherever you go, great club scene. COME UK.

  • @KittyKat152 can i ask where youre from? i hope moving to the uk gives you the life you want:) xx

  • @MissBigMack I'm from a small town called Tawas, in Michigan. Not the best, i need more space, and i always wanted to go to England, i love the accents and i hear really great things about it. (: Yes. I hope so too. <3

  • @MissBigMack I'm from a small town called Tawas, in Michigan. Not the best, i need more space, and i always wanted to go to England, i love the accents and i hear really great things about it. (: Yes. I hope so too.

  • Love it ( Phil sent me. <3 him! )

  • This sounds amazing.

  • 'Rise above the games consoles' - The gaming community is becoming the largest group on Youtube, especially for teens. Which means that most teens enjoy gaming, so why should they stop just to prove a point?

  • Really?!? have you guys ever heard of a gym? If you guys had that house for even 1 month it would be trashed...then you'd be like " we need to do something about these rich people not taking care of their buildings" Maybe get some job-skills and buy your own house.

  • That was brilliantly filmed and really inspirational, great job Somewhere to___

  • when that at the ends says "that we need are own spaces, so we can explore"

    He should ahve said "Expand"...

Btw great video very insperational. =P

  • This a brilliant video, how it all fits together and love the guys who are street jumpers, forgot what there called .

  • phil sent me >__<

  • It's funny because I'm sat at home, on the internet, watching this...

  • @xXHarrietlvuuXx Irony is such a bliss~

  • its a really good idea, i woud open my door but the house barely fits what's already here xD

  • This is quite beautiful, you guys are doing an amazing thing :)

  • really good, practical idea :)

  • Why do you need any empty building to do all that? You can got a boxing school, or a theatre class, an art class, or a gym...

  • I'll be honest, I wouldn't be rude about poets or free runners or boxers so I find it rude that in this video it sounds like they're looking down on gamers. If I enjoy playing video games more than being punched does that mean I deserve any less respect?

If my donations go towards people "rising above the games consoles" I will think twice about donating again next year.

  • @M0o0P I don't think they mean it quite like that. I think they're more talking about people who have other things they enjoy, but can't do so, so end up doing something perhaps less creative or mroe stationary. Though, video games can be creative, and I'm sure they do spaces for that too. I'm sure it's not meant to attack users like that ^^

  • @nicolelyl Haha, me too :)

There was a link to this video at the end of his most recent video :)

  • @jleer1 I know ^^ :P

  • Good job guys, really nice to see some respect for us youth. Will definitely be spreading this video :)

  • @somewheretochannel Will do :)

  • They said the bit about tv and laptops and that.. im watching this video on my laptop... *close...*

  • Those free runners are amazing.

I hope you find more space soon~! :D

  • @PuNisherDeviLkAT We worked with Number 10 to use this space to show how somewhereto_ is creating opportunities for young people by opening up amazing spaces for them to use. The poets, freerunners and boxers in the video had previously approached somewhereto_ to find them a space to perform their work and Number 10 seemed like an ideal spot. The government had no part in writing or producing this video other than to generously provide access to the space. We hope that answers your query!

  • ment to be a life changeing video but only 35k views. hahahaAha

  • I grow tired of typing it, so here, bitches

    »»───(knee)───►

  • I wish the population would take teenagers more seriously.

  • @screamolives Exactly. And I don't think this does it... the kids know this is all pretend.

  • Free-running in 10 Downing Street is not a good use of space. Use prisons; they have a lot of open space.

  • i wasn't used to do any crap, then i didn't take an arrow to the knee. i took likes to the comment

  • Can anyone tell me how to change the new crap annoying version of u tube back to my normal channel? im stuck with the NEW one and its driving me crazy! where the fuck is edit channel now u tube!!!!!!

  • I opened my door and then i got an arrow to the knee now i have 2 arrows to the knee

  • Find this a little dubious. I think older people had more of a part in writing and creating this than young people themselves. >> watch?v=6sGth0a9PQU

  • @qet5ess Rubix, the young spoken word artists (featured in the film) wrote the voice over copy. They had previously approached somewhereto_ to find them a space to perform their work and Number 10 seemed like an ideal spot. The writing was informed by Rubix together with somewhereto_ with aims to communicate the idea behind somewhereto_ and the project's aims for the future as a legacy of the London 2010 Olympic Games. We hope that answers your query!

  • What would i do if they opened num 10s door arrest the prime minister and his whole cabinet, then i would arrest all the bankers that have stolen our tax pound notes, the governmant are guilty of false flag wars fact, the banks are guilty of theft fact they are all in it together and they will try and invade iran next, they will find the money for that but cut funding to our youngsters future, then send them to fight while thier sons go plush private schools this country is a joke.

  • Its a shame that the only space young people seem to find round here is outside the local Bargain Booze shop.

  • This is whack.

  • I would open my door, but I took an arrow to the knee.

  • @FeuryFeu if i hear another arrow to the knee joke again ..

  • @FeuryFeu you fucking retard tor

  • Well, I'm hardly a young person, but if I had the run of No. 10 for a day, the first thing I'd do is open the door and invite Mr Justice Leveson and his inquiry committee in and I'd make sure the staff handed to them them every filing-cabinet key and every log and diary (both business and personal) and every hard-drive and every password in the place.

  • Pretentious crap. If you want space then move to the countryside.

  • Why didn't I think of that - get young people doing Parkour in historic buildings!

... I agree with Percy Bean. REALLY pretentious, and utterly pointless

  • genuinely quite a pretentious and badly-executed video. Poor.

  • I'd rather be a couch potato, kthxbai.

  • If the experienced do not want to share this country with the youth 'the inexperienced' then that is their choice. But the youth is the future and over time we will take it. I just hope that the generation before us don't do any more damage than they already have by the time we do so.

They have buried us all with their greed and some still continue to do so.

    Dean. 21. Northern Ireland.

  • i wish to say this in my own words for all the people criticizing this where not forcing you not even telling you to quit video games or through away your smart phones but maybe just put them down for just a short while and do something more active or creative for just a small portion of your day. and despite what some of you seem to think some of us don't have space many of us don't even have a safe place to live and there fore don't have the space to do what they love that's this is important

  • my friend says this its not about abandoning technological progress its about helping our youth to get back to basic by alowing them to utilize their creative energy. let us be multi functional with space by incorporating the mind, body, focus with free will in a way that only the youth are capable of doing

  • when we are in the pinnacle age of technological advancements why should be give up what is inevitably part of modern life?, a child with terminal cancer receives his first i-phone it could improve their quality of life, if people think our generation are lazy then why don't we ignore them? and prove them that another mozart or Leonardo da Vinci does exist, this video is one of the least inspiring things a kid could ever see...and really fucking patronising as space is EVERYWHERE and within us

  • To the American right-wingers watching the video; this is what can be accomplished when you aren't so damned frightened of social reform. Socialism does not mean FACISM or COMMUNISM. Get it through your thick skulls.

  • The older generations screwed over this country for decades and continues to do so. You cut education funding, let in uneducated foreigners to take up "OUR SPACE".

The old screwed up - and it's the young that must pay.

If the government want to help then young then they need to get of their own arses. Because it is the CURRENT GOVERNMENT and the ones before which is adding to these problems, and is blaming it on the young.

If there's jobs available, we will take them. Simple.

    Blair, 20, Scot.

  • This is absolute trash.

  • What a load of shit. Stop cutting the funding to Youth Centres for a start.

  • what a bunch of shit...im 17 and i like abit of xbox, whats wrong with that adults go out and get pissed waste time doing useless shit ! why are we victimised for being the best, smartest and most important age genre of anytime

  • I like how suddenly because i enjoy playing games and find it relaxing im lazy and need to be out 'rising above it'. like im the scum of the earth? fuck your stupid campaign, stop riddiculing people for living they want to live. its not your life.

  • @makewordsnotwar I'm a mate of Berko's he said he knows you lot, I didn't mean to insult anyone with what I was saying just point out how the video made us feel in our group. We need to talk more as a society if we are going to make more creative solutions.

  • @makewordsnotwar The problem was not with Rubix and I think it's actually a dope thing that people are going to get to use space and I do endorse the cause. I Just thought it could've been phrased better. I do appreciate that it is a nice piece of film aesthetically, the message was muffled by the writing for me. I would like to talk to Rubix about it if you guys would be up for it?

  • What a load of bollocks

  • The aim of our piece was simply to encourage space; it's is all around us. We think it's a good idea not only for young people to see space differently & make better use of it, but for space owners to be more willing to share the spare space they have. I’m sorry if anyone felt we were preachy; we didn’t intend to, but everyone’s allowed to have an opinion.

Hopefully that clears up some things? We had the most amazing time making the video anyway, & have definitely seen space differently since.

  • 26,000 hits! Wow. + it's very interesting to hear what everyone has to say. As a member of Rubix who's in the video, I'd just like to say it's really sad to see people comment that they think this is government propaganda. It's definitely not.

We wrote the piece ourselves with somewhereto_, but without Conservative input. At no point do we mention anything to do with Cameron, the Big Society or any other Tory policies. Aside from using No. 10, Rubix is not involved with party politics at all.

  • @Sheqelu A Good observation, and totally agreed on the merit of the shoot itself, in terms of film and athleticism, this is a beautifully made piece of work indeed!

  • A very well shot video with some great parcours. The aim to encourage spaceholders to make spaces available is admirable. However, the voiceover has distinctly conservative overtones - in essence, the message is similar to "get on your bike & get a job", but instead aimed at young people. It is not surprising that Cameron's PR people jumped at the chance to get some real urban young people in No 10, expressing views that support his agenda.

  • @Itscaj another point my young group of poets made was that the poem felt more like a political speech than verse and while that was the concept, it was poorly executed and they felt that it could have done with a heavy edit and rewrite...

  • @Itscaj And Lastly my comment was not an attack on Somewhereto. I actually support the cause and met with the agent in my region to discuss how I could help, and voiced my concerns with him. My comment was a question that was already answered pretty concisely by somewheretochannel before you decided to chip your two pence worth in. I do not make sweeping generalisations but informed comments based on my experiences working with and coming from the diverse youth culture the UK has to offer.

  • I took the video to a group of young people I teach in Manchester (where we have plenty of space to practice our craft and actually the creative scene is not in crisis but thriving) and aside from the fact that they struggled with what it was trying to tell them and that they felt a little preached at and patronised, they made the very clear point that you don't have to put down one in order to pick up the other and in fact you can combine those cultures with creativity to achieve great results

  • @Itscaj firstly I have worked with young people from a very wide range of backgrounds and communities, I am a poet and not far out of the 'young person' bracket myself. What I found questionable about this video was the way it voids a huge part of our culture in video gaming and television.

  • I think thats really disrespectful running round the house jumping on doors ect, shame on you

  • Oh do shut up

  • Should do that to Buckingham Palace as well, which is a den of inequity and the home of the real mafia!

  • @Scoused5000 well said scouse :-) I bet they wouldnt though

  • sounds like a paedophiles dream like phoning for a pizza :(...

  • But... Battlefield 3 :'[ </3

  • i'm an adult. am i allowed to 'need some space' or do we only give a toss about kids now??

  • What about the young people who do go to school? Those who aren't drop outs, can't somersault over a toilet and aren't particularly 'tragic'?

I'll tell you what's taken away your creativity, facebook and xfactor. It's not being unable to skip next to a grandfather clock, that's a burden most of us carry.

  • Rubbish. This country is fucked no matter what. Thank god i have a permanent residency for Australia.

  • @luketkin - think positively!! Be the change you want to see!! ;o)

  • i would reduce corporation tax.

  • 'And rise up above the game consoles' - And there, I stopped the video.

  • uhhhhh, they do realize that parkour is alot more fun to do outside right?

  • I am in Rubix and was a writer. We were briefed by somewhere to_ on length of time and style (political speech like) and we read through information and wrote the poem it got redrafted by somewhere to_ and redrafted by us to ensure it was what we wanted to say and mean. Then we turnt up on the day and filmed. Somewhere to_ is apolitical and for everyone. David Cameron is bound to act in his partys interests but those of you that think this happened overnight for him are wrong, this idea stems f

  • Blah, blah, blah Cameron doesn't care about the youth.

  • is this some bullshit government propaganda or something

  • @OrangeLightUk We worked with Number 10 to use this space to show how somewhereto_ is creating opportunities for young people by opening up amazing spaces for them to use. The government had no part in writing or producing this video other than to generously provide access to the space. We hope that answers your query!

  • I would raid the fridge.

  • join the army

  • As someone who works with young people on a ground level and has done for many years I can't help but find it a little questionable. Would like to know how young people had a part in the writing of this short but also what informed that writing.

  • @Pookstube Rubix, the young spoken word artists (featured in the film) wrote the voice over copy.

  • @somewheretochannel 2010 I did'nt remember that?

  • @Pookstube Generalising 'young people' into your own experiences is not questionable? We have many ideas and manifested ideals of the world and the way in which it is governed. I'm curious as to your disbelief at young people writing the content of this short.

  • im lazy

  • Use the space... till the police tell you to move on lol

  • @YehZaynMe That is part of the problem that somewhereto_ helps to solve, by working with space-holders to open up their space for young people to use without being moved on.

  • Awesome

  • Shoulda burned the damn place down.

  • The only thing I took from this video was how shiny the door was.

  • lol urban freeflow

  • whats the tune!

  • I would make sure that no royal crooks ever live in no 10 ever again

  • look at these twats jumping around

  • interesting! LIKE!

  • ''You dont have to act like this, you can be so much better'' Misfits quote.

  • visit TheToriiRose

  • As well as this, kids need to be freed from debt slavery. This channel is at the forefront of making that happen. We will not be defeated.

  • I have a song called " Run With Me." this video encaptures what I had written in my song over 15 years ago. I agree, you all need a bit of breathing space.

From Broken To Bethany the album featuring " Run With Me."

  • Good luck guys, you're totally on the right track, in my b=view there's nothing higner on our agenda than our Youth, keep working hard and results will follow, you're a credit to the country.

  • We at the Foyer Federation loved this, great job

  • I have a huge couch that you could sleep on if you're ever on my side of the pond.

  • @NastyBoyZF16 Hi, just to clarify the video, we didn't "break in" to Number 10. We're a UK project that works with space-holders to open up their space to young people to do the things they love, like the free running, boxing or spoken word in the video. This video was created with the permission of Number 10 who allowed our young people access to show their support for the project.

  • @somewheretochannel What do you mean by 'space-holders'?

  • @antarmy117 A 'space-holder' is anyone who has got a space that young people can use. You might be a shop-owner, farmer, web developer or chief executive who has a space to offer - and ALL space is welcome: new, old, busy, derelict, physical, virtual, public or private. somewhereto_ would love to hear from any space-holders, who can give a space via the website. Hope that answers your question!

  • @NastyBoyZF16 ha! you're rubbish.

  • wwooww! O:

  • Yes Wes and Ryan, nice...

  • Wonderful

  • Will the likes of Eaton open it's door?

  • @MaxSafeheaD We would love it if Eaton opened their doors, but the big question is what would you use the space for? More freerunning or something else?

  • @somewheretochannel yea, to change an exclusive education for none but the richest to an equal opportunities for all who are willing.

  • @somewheretochannel I'd use space at Eton to hold an event promoting the idea that school and qualifications are not everything..........
