  • she should have stay on more year and compete at the 2005 world championship

  • kelly had so many injuries over the years and injury free proved she was the best !!

  • kelly is an amazing inspiration she knew what she wanted to do, and she did it. woop woop ! :D

  • Had those two medals on my hands the other day and I even put one round my neck. She is a lovely, warm not snobby but friendly lady who always has a smile on her face. She is definately one of the most inspiring person I have met

  • Yes, you think what you want to.

  • A day that led to another string of off days. My arse, Mutola was past her peak

  • What an inspiration.

Aswell as Rebecca Adlington. These two women in my opinion are the greatest British athletes of all time!

  • Kelly Holmes was among the favourites for the 1500 metres as far back as the 1997 World Championships, but a late injury thwarted her effort. She won a bronze at the 2000 Olympics and a silver at the 2003 World Championships, both at 800 metres.

She hardly came from nowhere in 2004, and the 800 metres win was not exactly beating rivals out of sight.

  • what? she won...end of.

  • My message was in response to the innuendo laden messages elsewhere on here about her (see in particulat the one from boefe).

  • Beauty is only skin deep: 'The Disciplinary Panel of the Slovenian Athletics Association (AZS) has confirmed the positive doping test of Slovenia's most successful track athlete of recent years, Jolanda 'Joli' Čeplak'

  • There is no point sperculating unless someone fails a test. Just don't bother watching. My physio (Wes Duncan) is one of her mates. He helped her at the start of her career. She never forgot him & even named him in her BBC sports winner speach.

  • jolanda ceplak is a slovenian beauty

  • ur a pervert

  • She only didn't perform as well when younger because of injury. She was 1500m one yr then got a stess fracture. Even when injured she had got Olympic Bronze & here was eventually running free

  • I always found it odd how she ran near a pb in her thrities and how she was taking apart people she hadnt beaten in years....hmm.

  • you try running 800m after injuries...what are you actually on about? she won...what is there to speculate?

  • That she was roided out like everyone else in athletics/

  • She is a great athlete, she didn't use drugs like chambers and co, instead she worked extremly hard and it paid off with the result being 2 gold medals

  • This vid is about Kelly Holmes! She is awsome give her her due she wasn't lucky to peak it's called hard work! Paula is a great athlete too and i'm sure everyone was cheering both of them on!!

  • the blond lady in this video is beautiful

  • crazy how they call this middle distance...i run 200m and collapse

  • hauHAUhUAHuHAUhUHAUH.

yeah, but with time you begin to fell less pain.

but 800m and 1500m is for crazies

  • i run the 800 & 1500 but i wont lie i still think the 400 will kill anyone

  • Absoultely fantastic beyond belief. I sat in my bedroom watching this race in 2004, and when I she crossed the line 0.05 seconds ahead of Silver position, I jumped up and shouted for Kelly. More than any other British athlete in recent times, 2004 was payback for all the bad luck she had earlier in her career. She fully deserves her place in the history of great middle distance runners.

  • her and paula radclife r mi heros, mi running coach from Tunisia, ( Tunisian Marathon record holder) r best frndz

  • Kelly was lucky to peak when she did after, let's be honest, a modestly successful career. Paula was not so lucky. She was injured. But in winning every other marathon she has entered and posting times that no one else can come near she has shown herself to be not only the best in the world but the greatest ever. And she doesn't deserve the personal abuse she gets from the likes of jpww1979.

  • kelly holmes is my hero she is absoloute legend shame shes retired tho :(

  • Let us see if Paula Radcliffe can win Olympic gold first, well done Glasgow.

  • Kelly Holmes achieved greatness. There will be more like her from GB as for Paula Radcliffe there is real doubt she as any more gold medals in her vain vanes.

  • What Kelly achieved was fantastic and is great to watch again. However there's no doubt that Paula Radcliffe is the greater athlete.

  • i remember seeing her just before the 2004 olympics, and I saw her at a hospital in Kent - possibly for physiotherapy or something. But I was about to go up to her to say good luck and i didn't because I remember all those races she was pipped to win, and then finished 3rd or 2nd and I didn't think she was going to win the Olympics - well I ate my words when I watched this live!!! Well done Holmes!!

  • i remember watching that and it inspired me to chase after my running dream so i started running and i am already on our county team and i hope to make it to the 2012 olympics when i will be old enough.

  • kelly was amazing then she is now as well doing amazing work for the kids and inspiring us all .. have you seen her official website doublegold its great love it

  • That's a pretty pathetic comment about Radcliffe

  • What a true inspiration Kelly Holmes is too us all. It was disgusting the lack of press she got before her double compared to Paula 'failiure' Ratcliffe.

  • Yeah, she's a real failure, what with those 12 gold medals during her career. Idiot.

  • I get the impression that Kelly Holmes is a woman who doesn't seek the limelight, so maybe the press did her a favour in Athens, she just snuck up and surprised them and us!

  • i cn rembr watchn tht it ws amazn

  • u read her book?

    she is amazing..

  • How is here book called?

  • Same here

  • i remember going crazy for her. good stuff!
