I was an series viewer, but I too was somewhat disappointed in the movie....It went on and on about how devastating the break up was between Big & Carrie, long footage of how crushing it was for her and trying to get her life back together, then when she sees him in the closet, no harsh words, no why did you do leave me at the alter?..just run to him and everything was ok In the series she would have blasted his ass for hurting her..Other than that, the movie was ok...

I know I'm not going to be popular, but i though the movie was awful!! I loved the series because it was witty and funny, but the movie was too long, I ended up not liking some of the charecters abit (ie Big jilting Carrie and she ends up saying sorry, like helloo, Steve has an affair, Miranda forgives him and they get it on) and Carrie's narrating was pointless I just wish they left it end at the series, it was a perfect finale. 5 out of 5 for the TV series 1.5 out of 5 for the movie.

Wow, this is so opposite of Spills review lol. I guess that's what happens when you have a woman review a chick flick instead of a guy. I can't stand how in this movie, they finally cast a black woman to be on the Sex/City crew, but of course it has to be as one of the white women's assistant. Lame, basically being Aunt Jemima. Sex and the City is so white ethnocentric its not even funny. Plus its in New York, how can you not have interracial couples in it?

well there were several interracial attempts during the series run... and jennifer hudson not only plays her assistant but someone who befriends carrie and helps her through a big chunk of the movie's plot

Yeah, "attempts." The reason why they never worked is because the tv audience is still incredibly racist when it comes to interracial relationships in the media. When the show tried to have these women with non-white men, the ratings probably suffered a little making them go back to "perfect white couples." I also wouldn't be surprised if the industry itself has alot to do with discriminating including how they cast people. To say that women don't care about race in men is total bullshit.

And to people wondering, why the women care so much about race in men? Its because women are incredibly narcissistic about themselves and how their babies look like them. Having a baby with someone outside their race makes their child less visually similar to them which women don't like. Honestly I think its horrible but psychologically this is reality. That's why, for example, Miranda has a white child before starting to date a black guy. Think about it. Minorities=not just exotic dates.

The show was't racist just because it was based on four white women dating white men. Think about it. Furthermore, this is New York City, one of the most diverse places in the world. If this was based in say the Midwest, maybe they could get away with no interracial couples. But the setting has plenty of capable minorities that could date these women, they just choose on purpose not to go in that 21 century direction, instead pretending we haven't evolved much in terms of dating. If anything, this show insults white women by saying they're too ignorant to date outside their own culture.

The Movie sets scene for the same characters from the TV show... The girls were already "in couple" 4 years ago, they couldn't just change the actors and reinvent the story. Not so many interratial couples but, Miranda dated the basketball doctor who was black, Samantha had a thing with a Spanish woman (if i remember correctly)...and Carrie, well: Big, the Russian guy, Big, Aiden, etc. The ethnicity of NYC is shown, and in the movie, the only role they could come up with:they gave to Jen!
