@shazamcomics Man. I can't believe my eyes.....but, as they say, diversity is what makes the world work. Personally, I can hardly go a day without some Stevie!! Who do you like, female voice wise that is??? Peace.........
@MegaKat1978 Carole King (somewhat depends on the song), Chaka Khan, Patti Austin, Cyndi Lauper, Annie Lennox, Patti Labelle, Tina Turner and Benatar to name a few.
from Jose', the Hermeterec........you know, pcmacfree, you might very well be right, that sista just might be Ruth Pointer Kinda hard to tell from the video....anyway she surely can sing. Again, there is only one Stevie and I wish (wish in one hand,------ in the other....) all those out there who cast aspersions upon her about drug use, etc would pay more attention to what she gave to the world of rock music and lay off the cike comments. I, of course, submit this suggestion with respect.
from Jose', the Hermeterec.......Kenny is and always has been a monster, but that dude playing guitar with the shades and headscarf on is one bad maharajah too!
This version kills!Does anyone know who the other vocalists are?Someone mentioned Vickie Randall(which seems right),but who's the dude in the kerchief--darn good!
@tone143 I agree, who is the dude in the background on the guitar. I'm not loving the lady singing with Kenny but she has a good voice, take the "Gospel" out of it and she'll sound a lot better, no need to overpower the song.
As much as i like the Nicks/Loggins version, i think this one is my favorite. That's Vicki Randle from the Tonight Show Band isn't it? This is the best by far. Great song, great voices and harmony. You see how they change rhythm ? Man that's the finest. Thanks for posting.
The version with Nicks is an incredible song, but I think this interpretation is terrific too. You can really appreciate the purity of his voice, and it also gives you a sense of how the song sounded when he created on acoustic guitar. The only bad thing I have to say about this version is that Kenny doesn't sing enough in it.
This is absolutely great! I have the entire special on video...always enjoy watching it. Kenny Loggins has such a clear, beautiful voice. And even as the years go by, he is a wonderful live performer. Should be in the Rock Hall of Fame.
This was so bad (except for the end part) I actually laughed. Loggins' voice sounded fine but the others were laughably out of place. Oh and Kenny: don't try to "soul up" your tunes, it doesn't work to put it mildly.
Can ya'll help me find this video Kenny was in. He was sitting inside a house (as I remember) playing the guitar. It was song was so beautiful and I have never been able to find it.I saw it about the time when Sinead's song was out (nothing compares). Thank you!
i wa slooking for her duet with alison krauss and it seems like i cant find any...so i tried on this one...and yeah..this is such a good performance...bit i dont know the other singers...can someone tells me????TNX...
Cetera06....great stuff!! Is this concert available on DVD? I love the music and Kenny's voice, great setting also, great musicians...wow!! Greetz Robert (the Netherlands)
Kenny Loggins Live From The Grand Canyon DVD you'll find on amazon. I've just checked out. This videos I posted are from my VCR because in that year (1993) the DVD format was unavailable (at least for me...hahah). Best Regards!
Cetera06, you rock! I love this video. Again, I feel like I am there. Kenny Loggins is an amazing artist...one-of-a-kind. Thanks for sharing this with us!
