@LyddieTheJester Thank you for the first comment and yes it's an upright. The front part can easily be removed for tuning, repairs and recording. I do like watching the hammers but mostly it gives a better recording quality, which still is bad.
@ananagram Not bad recording quality at all. I was curious because I have an upright piano and would love to play and watch the hammers - how does it come off?
@LyddieTheJester well, pianos are different. With mine, the top surface folds backwards in half. Inside the piano on the left and right sides are small pieces of wood that pivot to unlock the big front piece. Then you big front piece has some little dowels at it's bottom edge to connect it to the rest of the piano, so you just lift it up and away.

Are you playing on an upright piano?
