I had a frontal crash sitting in a chevrolet aveo from year 2007.

the overall speed was about 80 km/h, the opposite car a mercedes vito.

the result was a cut on my left knee about 5 cm long and light injuries on my right hand. that car saved my life. it was not the sedan type, still it didn't at all look any different in the front.

well, i found some reasons to but this car:

you can buy a full equipment aveo for 12k € in my country, but a full equipment focus is about 25k €.

aveo fits very good with LPG systems. petrol is 2€/liters and LPG is1€/liters.

and aveo is a light weight car, with small engines. small engines means small prices on gas stations.

as you see aveo is a small car and easy to park in city, and its fun to drive.

you cant drive faster than 64 kmh, so you wont die.

one last thing, its not that ugly.

Quite shitty safety (Yaris hatch vs Aveo sedan in the EuroNCAP test) Reliability is crappy, small and weak - yet not the least fuel efficient. Very cheap, yes, but you get very little even for that small price. I would rather pay a few extra grand to get a Yaris hatch over an Aveo 5.
