I would trade out the shotgun for a crossbow. Less noise = less attention, plus it will have an increased range. I'd still keep a sidearm incase I didn't have time to reload the bow after firing though.

@KYOJINSMASH Crossbows are quieter but they lose velocity relatively fast. With a shotgun you could always put slugs through it for longer range and keep the buck shot for close range.

always carry a crowbar, machete, knife, and at least 2 pistols, a shotgun or a rifle (be sure to get a scope; taking some out at a long range is never a bad thing!). and if you have NO close combat weapon, or just want to be on the safe side, when fighting in CQC with zombies, ALWAYS get on their outside and immediately kick in the side of their knee (so they can't move around as quickly, chase you, etc.) and quickly finish the job with any near by object (broken sticks up into the brain r good)

Doesn't ANYONE realize that the SOUND of a FIRING guns will draw EVERY ZOMBIE FOR MILES right to where ever you are? Get a crow bar, a tire iron, a baseball bad and start SMASHING skulls. One, it feels better, two it's easier to get, and three, it's less likely to draw EVERY zombie FOR MILES straight to you.

@MrDreamblade a bow would not be very good for close combat situations and is also very slow to reload. I would take my chances with alerting the horde and being loud rather than attempting to ninja and getting mauled to death

@BenderBullet56 i would go with a .22 pistol and a semi automatic m4 carbine, plus a katana, bulletproof vest, throwing knife, switchblade, lasersight, led flashlight, first aid kit, and two homemade hand grenades. Steel toe mountain boots, fingerless gloves, and an army hard hat w/ a reflective visor & chin strap would also come in handy. And duct tape, ya gotta hav duct tape :D i wouldnt go for the ninja stars tho, cuz those r made to injure & arent really good for a quick kill

A crossbow or a javelin or a bow would be better than a shotgun because they don't make much noise, so you could kill a zombie withought allerting the horde. If you are gonna go with a gun take a pistol with good range, acuracy, and a lot of ammo. Any gun with .22 amo would be good because most amo stores carry that size. A baseball bat and or a trenchspike would be good too.

hi. the best weapons to use are guns like easy to carry out. not heavy but powerful. like a GLOCK pistol. if i were you i wouldnt go full auto cuz its just a waste of bullets but its better if you have atleast few clips. you need a long knife cuz a pocket knife would be difficult to use to a crowd of zombies. dont carry out much gear but enough to keep you from getting scratch. but you need a really good hard hat like the military use or just use a football hat.

Good, but you definitely have to get a good machete, which were basically designed for no other task than killing zombies ! They are easier manouvrable than a hatchet or an axe, but almost do the same damage, while their pretty cheap and can be found everywhere and it can also be used to split wood, destroy stairs, build shelters and get bushes outta your way :) It's the most important weapon / tool for any kind of apoclypse :D

i have and only carry a 45 cal Glock and a rem 870 which shoots 00 buck nine ball and 1 oz slug both the gun and shotgun have a light that have strobe modes and a machete in the back pack , for personal defense ,only carry a man stoppers ,you will not have second chance.

weapons that share ammo are huge... a ruger 10.22 LR and a .22 pistol will be amazing in the zombie invasion because you can carry about 2000 rounds pretty easily and they have decent range
