  • have to agree with miss madchester below also my fave charlatans track just awesome and the longer version is well better a simply cracking tune pure brilliance

  • MY all time favourite Charlatans track. reminds me of goin barmy on the dancefloor!!

  • I have to do a music video for this song, any suggestions? Or even tell me what the lyrics mean because I don't really understand them!!!!

  • @VickyySLN I think the song's about a care-free lover who has used and left the singer.

  • the charlatans are the dogs bollox, the fuckin best and always will be...

  • @MrWizz47 they are BRILLIANT aren't they!!

  • 3 pissed off oasis fans

  • memories....

  • Best ever Charlatans tune.. By a mile!!

  • this frikken ROCKS !!!!!!!

  • There's Indie bands, and then there's The Charlies. They rock!

  • first time l heared the charlatans was when l first heared indian rope and then l was hooked and l finally seen them live this year and it was one of the best gigs l have went to.the best madchester band l think.

  • @funeralmoon100 , great to hear that mate. only inspiral carpets

    can Top the charlies, moo!

  • Such a great tune esp live! love Charlatans xxx

  • Saw these at the Oasis gig at knebworth 96, Definetley the Charlatans were the best band for me on the day without a doubt., Been a fan for 20 yrs now. Cant say that for Oasis. Brilliant song this as well..!!

  • Great times 1990, inspirals, roses, charlies, and RIDE.

  • these were a great band, 1st and 2nd album were great, 3rd not bad, then they just started getting gayer and gayer, their last lot of music was shit..... Stone Roses left the scene is style.... like Joy Division, the Stone Roses leave their words ringing around your head at all times in the night, waking you up singing to you !!

  • sounds like she bangs the drums

  • Quality tune! Still as gid live now as it ever was!?! Gan on the Indie Status Quo!?! lol ;)

  • in my eyes better than roses and deffo better than oasish. still rockin it brixton was a blast

  • fuckin amazing tune gets the heart pumping

  • ah perfection from start to finish ...cant believe , its over 20 years since i first saw them, still great live today, and sound so good ..

  • @BlondeRocknRoll better live today than they ever were

  • 21 years in and they still have the power to move hearts and minds. Underated massively but fuck the Brits,NME,Mercury and Mojo Awards cos we know right?

  • absolutely perfect

  • what a tune, great days indeed. inspiral carpets and

    charlies were madchester..

  • the true charlatans fans most semianal and universally respected track ...every charlatans gig i saw the crowd loved this track most of all

  • only the children of the 90's will really like them though, im one of them.

  • @gards2 I really like them and I'm a child of the 70s. Good music will always out

  • their best song. sounds brilliant turned up loud. really good band

  • es increible es que una cancion que casi tiene 20 años siga sonando tan poderosa, muchas banditas nuevas venderian su alma al diablo por tener un estilo propio como lo tiene the charlatans

  • i agree with you staffyno !

  • This was the song that turned me on to the Charlatans. Yeah it's the 90s but talent is timeless.

  • Excellent!

  • ive still got my some friendly log sleeve t-shirt i bought from HMV in 1990! Used 2 wear it wi my flarey jeans & a sun hat!

  • @mignonhenne:

It's in Cheshire (between Manchester and Wales). Junction 18 of the M6- that IS Sproston Green.

  • Hate to sound like my parents, but music today blows. I work with a bunch of 20 somethings, that frankly have shit for taste. Charlatans FOREVER!

  • @guffawz08

I am a 20something and I 'kin love the Charlatans. My missus is from Northwich as well so we are both fans.

  • 1 Of my fav bands. luv'd them frm the 1st time i saw them live, 19yrs ago. Cant wait 4 the tour & new album!

  • same here girl..loved them, seems years ago..great memories..i saw them live around that time..

  • Alhambra dunfermline this wk end !!!!!

this one knows, she comes and goes !!!!

  • Da krieg ich ja fast Tränen in die Augen.Mann, ich werd alt...Schööne Musik, da leben alle heutigen Indie Bands von. Allein die Hammond Orgel.Traum!!

  • oasis sold more records but the charlies were by far the better live band.every time.they supported em at frinsbury park and blew em away.shame the southerners in the crowd didnt appreciate it.knebworth my arse.

  • The Charlatans in my mind possibly with the exception of The stone roses were the band of the 90's and the fact that they are still going strong kinda backs that up. Sure Oasis were far more successfull commercially but musically The Charlatans were and still are a class above them.

  • @Staffyno 1 inspiral carpets?

  • @Staffyno1 With you on that up til the Oasis nonsense haha, either way...both fucking great bands and show why the North it WHERE IT'S AT!

  • @hypercatjohn I like Oasis m8, there a good band. But in my opinion, the Charlatans are better. But hey like i say, thats only my opinion.

  • @Staffyno1 Oasis are a pub band that got lucky

  • @DaMuttzNutz dont know about that........

  • @a1russng1 Noel Gallagher's words, not mine

  • @DaMuttzNutz I would say that about Oasis...

  • @Staffyno1 ridiculous, on every conceivable level.

  • what a tune grew up with these bands the charlatans the roses the carpets the mondays god they WERE the days fuckin rock and roll

  • This is The Charlatans "Anthem" song....Absolute classic...Seen em` in Manny a few times and they ROCK....BRILLIANT BAND.

  • Cracking tune! Takes me right back to the good days of summer 1990 (or was it 91?).......when drinking a bottle of Merrydown was a good night out and everyone was blissed out and loved up!!

  • Sproston Green is about a mile from where I live. Never found out who they were singing about though.

  • Sproston Green is about 5 miles from Northwich where Tim B came from. Apart from that I don't have a clue. I worked there for about 1 month and come from London :)

  • More like 8 miles (sorry for being pedantic). I work in Nortwich...much rather work in London! ;o)
