  • Finaly J find it! :))))))

  • I was like jaydabaron, heard it then spent ages looking for it, first heard it on an advert. One of the most beautiful songs ever.

  • beautiful!!

  • I remember hearing this on a skate video once. I searched restlessly for weeks to find it but gave up after about 2 months solid looking. 3 years later I came across 4hero's youtube channel and the rest is history. 6 years on and I still count 4hero to be in my top 3 favorite bands. This is an absolutely wonderful piece of music and I will never forget it.

  • What I would do to see this live.......it's so powerful....like if Jesus decided to make a visit to earth, this would be playing. I tell you!

  • Damn...

  • ...genial

  • Masterpiece.

  • Had exactly the same. Heard it for the first time in 2008 before a Kula Shaker concert in Brussels and was mesmerized by it. Tried to memorize the lyrics but my attempt to google them failed. Heard it again in a hotellobby in Copenhagen summer 2011, told my friend that this song has been haunting me for years. A man from the table behind us was eavesdropping on my excitement and shared the love for the angelic choir. He could precisely tell it was a Minnie Ripperton cover done by 4hero.

  • Absolutely cracking cover version and a true homage to the original. I'm sure Minnie would be very happy with what they have done with it.

  • heard this when my mum put on the radio on sbs chill and this went on

i like this song i've been dieing to know the name and i found it :P

  • original is Minnie

  • It's not Minnie. It is Carina Anderssen. Sounds like Minnie. Nice remake though.

  • Nice version. I am blown away by 'Ramsey Lewis's version on Between the Keys more though.

  • sounds wonderful combined with laughing gas!

    Epic ballooning at its best!

  • Always loved Ramsay's version. This is truly a gem of a find! Thank you.

  • The original is one of my favorite tracks of all time. This is an homage of pure love. Bravo 4 Hero.

  • Its an epic of pure genius

I have played it at least ten times in finding it tonight!

  • Divine.

  • Well done to 4 Hero for this. I was hoping they'd stay true to the original rather than doing a remix which completely butchers the original song.

  • Tom and jerry!! :O

  • haha ive been looking for this song for the last 10 minutes and i found it.took me 4 years to find klaxons-golden skans so i know the pain.

  • Sooooooooo good.

  • first heard this song on a Bailey's commercial the people are floating around the room and nabbing gobs of flying bailey's...didnt take 5 years to hunt it down tho :)

  • hi 4Hero This is Talita Long...I hope you got a chance to listen to my song

TEACH ME.....on you tube.Hope one day to meet you...one the vocalsit with Larry Mizell the writer of the song...

  • First version / Ramsey lewis - les fleurs- album maiden voage 1968

  • I've been seeking this music for a looooong time and I'm so happy I've found it!

  • Heard this song on The Ray Darcy Show on Today FM Ireland about five years ago and only finally found out who sang it three weeks ago. absolute class song

  • a MUST listen!

  • Still a thrill to listen!

  • so damm good

  • Jeez...before I'd found this video, I literally JUST finished editing Minnie's original in the same way these guys re-made it (cuz I felt it ended WAY too soon): I copied the first version of the chorus and inserted it right after the buildup after the second verse, so it sounds like it should be there, then had it followed immediately by the non-spoken version of the chorus.

  • RIP Minnie.

  • Stunningly beautiful version of an incredible song.... a true credit the the great Minnie Ripperton's classic

  • Quality Tune with just the right amount of Feel Good postion mixed in..100% Stress Free..

  • Effing brilliant tune

  • 9 years seach is over ........ bliss

  • @carl2000os amen to that. same story here

  • I've been looking for this song 4 AGES...never imagined Minnie Riperton originally sang it...so HAPPY...it's so classic and all Inspiring..ta x

  • They crushed this. I love the original but you must appreciate the jazz-ed up section and the beat-style comeback. This song seems to have a decaying 15-10 year remake time span. It's about that time.

  • 4 Hero.....the ONLY people to turn a pure classic into a purer classic!!Goosebumps...cheers for the upload!

  • i remember hearing this years ago on an advert for baileys or something and dying to find out who it was by! this and the original version both amazing!

  • another masterpiece!!! love it!!!

  • i love it !!!

  • Believe it or not, there is a version of Les Fleur(s) by Ramsey Lewis with Minnie Riperton singing backgrounds that predates HER version of it (Maiden Voyage and More album). The drummer on the date was Maurice White (future leader of Earth Wind and Fire). At the time he was the drummer in Ramsey's trio.

Both Ramsey's and Minnie's versions were produced and arranged by the late great Charles Stepney (who wrote the piece, lyrics were later added by Richard Rudolph-Minnie's future husband)

  • @uegmusic Wow, exceptionally informative. Maximum respect for your knowledge. Thanks for sharing. I'm of course off to seek out the original.

  • holy crap finally found this 0_0 :D

  • Love this long version. It reminds me of a girl I used to offer Baileys, which she accepted;-) I like the arrangement of this. I think Charles Stepney would like that his music still has significance. I especially like Carina Andersons voice, it's a divine thing to use a human voice in such a song in such a way...

  • can't get enough of this, such an amazing record and funny that everybody has been serching for so long, me too!!

  • i chased for 2 years!

it passed on a Test-drive of BBC Top Gear

  • omg i remember hearing this in a baileys ad fall in love first i hear it

  • i have been looking for this song for ages ever since i heard it on an advert, one day, when i decide to search itunes for some drum n bass, 4hero come up and i randomly click this song and realise its this song, made my day!

  • I'm inlove now and listening to it hahha:) but, really...

  • its weird but I remember listening to this when I was in love once.

  • i chased this song for around 5 yr as i heard it on radio 1 an never got to find out who sang it one day i was in a rather odd club in the bottom of leeds and this came on. i raced over to the barman who told me what is was now i am more shocked to find that minnie ripperton is on vocals ....this is pure class a brilliant production.

  • same here, ages of looking for this one! heard randomly in places but no one could say what tune is it. Now I am calm and happy!

  • minnie ripperton is not on this version...

  • One can get so blissfully happy when he/she FINALLY finds a song he's/she's been looking for. And for 5 years ?? omg

    :D

  • @4KON9 I was chasing REO Speedwagon's "In My Dreams" since I was 10. I found it...this year. And yeah, after downloading it, I played it for 3 weeks straight. It IS a great feeling to finally find a song long desired, especially a piece of your childhood.

  • @Rhiorrha I was 10 when In My Dreams debuted in 1987...so, it was a pretty long search for me.

  • @jaydabaron That's a lovely story as it's always great to trace a track you fall in love with. Just to clarify, on this version by 4Hero the lead vocal is Carina Andersson. Minnie Riperton sings on the original. Both versions are mind blowing.

  • @misslitious thankyou for the comment.

I have heard both versions now and both are excellent !! this production will always stand out more for me as they was some nice memorys that came with it.

It is amusing to play this song to people then hearing them hum the chorus all day its bizarley catchey .

  • @jaydabaron for future reference...get a sony ericson, they have a program called trackID it'll find any song thats ever been released by recording a 5 second clip of it

  • @jaydabaron Correction, the lead singer Miss Carina Anderson not the late Minnie Riperton. Minnie Riperton was the original artist. It was written by Minnie's husband Richard Rudolph for her 1970 album Come To My Garden. Minnie passed away on 12 July 1979 of breast cancer. True, Miss Anderson sounds remarkably like Minnie & 4-Hero's rendition is as close as you'll get to Minnie's version;but, sadly Minnie is no longer here to grace us with her lovely voice & persona.

  • @jaydabaron Minnie Riperton wrote/sang the original. This is Carina Andersson on this version.

  • @jaydabaron would that club happen to be the hi fi perchance?

  • @jaydabaron know where your coming from, loved it for years and just stumbled on it today !! think i was more shocked it was by 4hero who ive always associated with drum and bass hahaha :)

  • @jaydabaron

I too had heard the song used in TV productions and in sntaches here and there but the chorus had me conviced I needed to be looking in the direction of Andrew lloyd Weber or Tim Rice 70's big rock opera directions so thrilled when I finally learned it was Minnie Riperton what a staggering composition!!

  • @jaydabaron more shocked? its pure minnie, easily recognisible

  • ♥

  • vocals?

  • Minnie Riperton

  • Carina Andersson

  • me too!

  • Muy bonita musica. Excelente! Viva Carina Andersson. Te-Amo minnie Riperton. Vaya con Dios Minnie!!!!!!!!!

  • i love minnie riperton. miss her too.

  • I dig:)
