There is a game called Men of War It was the first game to ever us this "direct fire" thing. Accually its called Direct Control, COH just changed the name from control to fire.
In Men of War you can use this "direct fire" through out the game, its way better than CoH realism wise and its a totally different RTS game.
If your into eyecandy arcade themed games then CoH is your game but if your into realism and control then its Men of War for you.
@Volkegewehr yea but the first game was Faces of War ( Men of War is the Sequel) that used direct control. Coh is a strategic game that covers all aspects like base building and point control so Coh would be for beginners. Men of war is a game that is based on micromanagement and points out the little aspects so it would be for experienced players
Hey, AllGameReviews, I am a huge fan of Warhammer 40K Dawn of War, so i decided to pick up Company of Heroes today at my store for $20. Amazing game, i wished i bought it when it came out a while ago. Anyway, do you know any good strategies for the American Army? I am getting my ass greased online, and after watching your review, i am guessing you got some skill in this game. I am usually a Infantry Mass Rusher kind of guy, but any advice would help, thank you.
direct fire is like right click to move and left click to fire, no matter where the mouse is and the turrent will always aim at the mouse, you Can use it in an online match but only in panzerkrieg matchs(tank vs tank games) you can't use it in a normal skirmish match
paratrooper's arnt as good as commando's ( my opinion) anyway i think they should make another expansion with the sas or a different country like belgium or france etc
@AllGameReviews hey dude im from new zealand and we were voted the best enlisted fighting man at the end of WW2 and field marshel rommel thought that new zealand 2nd and aussie 6th were the 2 most formidable forces he had ever faced so us ANZACS were 1 of the best
ok guys, i have the demo of Coh but im not sure if i want the first one, i meen i love the first but after doing many skirmishes im tired of america and Wehrmacht ...... i either want Tov or Opposing Fronts. im wondering what countries you get in Tov?
u should just get opposing fronts cause having tales of valor has no more factions than opposing fronts and there isint enough new stuff in this game to make it worth buying, my advice would be just to get opposing fronts and start playin online straight away cause its amazin
COH owns all. If you do not have a previous version of COH i would get TOV. But if you already have COH, TOV is a rip off. The new modes suck and are not play tested. The TOV units are OP sure(T17 etc.) But it isnt worth 30$+ dollars for a slight edge.
T17 is op but not that op if u know how to place your PAK gun, it can be killed with 1 mine if placed well and 2 squads of panzerschreck should take care of it. However it is said they're not suppose to be OP to the old one, merely a replacement. I agree with you that it is not that good as it shoulds, TOV rarely has anything added to it, just hope the Russian will be added soon in the CoH2.
Nice review, i never played this i only played the Company of Heroes one, and it was 2006 @ i liked the 2006 game so i expect more @ this Company of heroes which that is released in 2009 so :)
Cheers mate. If you like RTS you will love this. I first got CoH opposing fronts when I got my MB an ASUS Striker II formula. Played it once and thought it sucked. Then I played online with Skywarp and I was hooked. Dont give up so easily on this one.
Phalacy Pocket ftw. Lol.

This game is like watching a ww2 movie set except you control the actors.

I'm an American and your mispronunciations of "Wehrmacht" and "Falaise" made me cringe a little. Otherwise, good show.

@atyabbaig That is true, Men of War does require alot of micromanaging.
But it all depends on the player, cause some ppl think MoW is hard and some dont, but on a bases of the two games, what you said is true.
