  • proper hoonage

  • I jizzed my pants.

    Delicious car.

  • isnt this the car Rhys Millen drives for RedBull now?

  • @Alphalfa .........fail

  • @Alphalfa Yeaa....

He drove the GTO the solstice now the Genisis Coupe,

    I lvoe this car!

  • damn that Genesis looks so fucking GOOD!!!

even the fat wing looks good on it

  • Mirrors are made by craft square. And vacuum formed dry carbon pieces are incredibly light and very strong...... Carbon Fiber made by the same methods of fiberglass are still heavy because of the excessive amounts of resin and more for show purposes of O look at me I have cf bits and pieces.....

  • On the argument about the mirrors, I've seen this type on many different Japanese drift and touring cars.

Besides, paying homage to these cars, these installed mirrors likely provide little to no significant weight reduction over stock (assuming stock mirrors aren't bowling balls).

I do believe that these mirrors provide a SMALLER cross-section and thus provide less drag, thus providing some function to it's purpose.

  • @ Vashthe3rd:

A carbon fiber hood WILL be lighter than a steel, aluminum and fiberglass hood if constructed PROPERLY.

Many knock off's will be fiber glass with a carbon fiber overlay, effectively reducing weight savings and strength.

Replacing a combination of body components and interior components will net larger reductions in weight.

  • i think this must be one of the best looking genseis i've ever seen, it looks pretty fast too

  • Vash3rd, some CF hoods or trunks can shave up to 30 pounds of weight. That also helps lower the center of gravity of the car. There's a reason every race team uses carbon fiber on everything from wings and body panels to suspension struts, wheels, and structural braces, frames, etc.

  • why is everyone bitching about the mirrors lol i think it looks cool!

  • it is not always about performance

    looks matter to

not that i would know i have a civic

  • keep bringin' us videos in HD 0 to 60. This was bad ass.

  • Really you guys, this video is about our love of tuning cars. We could all go on for days about who's way is correct, but dont make it worse for everyone by leaving these stupid messages back and forth between each other. Seriously; get a life

  • it looks better and probably lighter.

  • so ignorant

  • Because 2 oz weight saving from switching from plastic to CF (note the lenses are probably still glass) will make a difference, right? And before you say every bit matters, keep in mind this car still has two seats. Shit, you'd save more weight debadging the damn thing.

  • First off, those side-view mirrors are far smaller than the OEM ones, so the weight difference is going to be more than 2 oz (I know you're being hyperbolic, but there is a real difference in weight), however - changes like those are generally more for aerodynamic profile than weight reduction.

  • if he saves a little weight from mirrors, gear stick, pedals, seats, bumpers, spoiler, lights and loads of the interior, eventualy it all adds up.

  • Which is why they still have regular glass, right?

  • It still looks like a project in progress. I think their carbon fibre parts that have to be moulded (unlike mirrors which don't have to be custom made) and so on. CF hood, trunk, dashboard, doors will save quite a lot of weight.

  • Really? Carbon fiber saves weight? Holy fuck who would have thought. Brb, calling up Bruce Mclaren to tell him the news.

Seriously, do you stupid fucks actually think carbon fiber mirrors save a significant amount of weight? And don't give me the "everything counts in large amounts" saying, because money in large amounts counts too and this is a frivolous and costly mod.

  • Ok, old man. Carbon fiber mirror caps are NOT expensive. It only uses about the same size as a regular A4 paper so these guys can make one themselves easily from LEFTOVER scrap CF they had. Secondly, you are too fucking stupid to realize that these mirrors are a lot smaller and will probably save 2 pounds in total. That's not a lot of money for 2 pounds when you consider people buying expensive wheels to same 20 pounds in total. Thirdly, just go fucking die from a heart attack would you?

  • You realize lighter wheels reduce

    a. unsprung weight

    b. rotating mass

and not just gross vehicle weight, right?

  • Yes, lighter wheels will reduce the empirical weight far more, but my opinion still stands: It doesn't cost a moding company a bit to make CF mirrors, so its cost benefit balance is feasible.

  • You are retarded. I don't know how else to put it.

  • Clearly, you have never worked with carbon fiber before. I have not used CF for car parts but I have for robots. It comes in bulk and I can tell you that after a day's work, there are lots of scrap CF leftover that are essentially useless. I understand that you are just making lame comebacks with no sense out of your retardness. It's ok old man. With the amount of brain cells left in your doughy and wiggling body, you are doing fine.

  • if you have the money - why not?

  • the old man just got owned.....pretty bad..

  • regardless... those mirrors look horrendous. I'll keep the 100 grams of weight for a nicer look.

  • man, this is like the third time i get this vid in my description box >:(

  • me 2, maybe they uploaded it 5 times?

    lol

  • Uploaded the wrong format, our apologies.

  • its ok, its worth watching 5 times :)
