  • lol, Sulu: "Ooooooh myyyyyy."

  • Sometimes, out of bad things, e.g. WW2, the Obama presidency, and yes even the star Trek reboot, good things result from it ------------- examples being a democratic Germany/Japan and your wonderfull video. Without Abrams, your video would not be possible. Bravo sir.

  • My two favorite spots:

    "Keptin, the stars are gone!"

    The Batman "KAPOW" subtitles.

  • BTW, this is incredibly amazing. I agree 100%

  • What does the JJ Abrams cube say? I can't understand it.

  • You're a genius to made this awesome and so true video ^^ Congratulation for that from a french fan.

  • This was a very well made and well edited video. Great job!

  • I liked the new movie. As a 2nd generation Trekkie I found it most entertaining and I was glad that there HAD been some research done on the original series. So what if it wasn't an exact characterization?! That would make the movie a complete failure! To make the movie work they had to bring it up to the special effects standards that people are used to seeing. By making the movie an Alternate Universe (not to be confused with the mirror universe), they breathed new life into the franchise. A

  • @TwilightTearsStudio That's the lamest excuse for destroying a classic show. "Breathe new life" What a total bunk! The movie was in one eye out the other CRAP. Star Trek is about ideas and going forward not back. Paramount wanted to capitalize on the prequel's rave on Fantasy and Sci-Fi, So they made a prequel but because they wanted the fans to like it they work Nemoy into the story; the result a movie that does not live up to the name Star Trek and is worst then the worst movie in history.

  • @BondFreek You need to check your facts and your logic. With out the last movie what do you think would happen to the original show? It would eventually be lost to history. Yes, Star Trek was an optimistic view of our future in a time when we were unsure that we would have one. But this isn't the Cold War anymore! And as for not going back....how many times did they go back in time to 20th century earth?!?! It wasn't all about ideas either. If you look at the show during the time it was written

  • You'll notice that some of the episodes are written with respect to political events at the time. The Star Trek series was way ahead of it's time, which is why it wasn't even that popular until it was being re-run. When you think about it...they didn't really make it a prequel. They wanted to tell a story that was left out of the original series. When they're ideas didn't match cannon they made it into an AU. They didn't have to do that. It had the potential to be a lot worse than it was.

  • @TwilightTearsStudio "they made it into an AU" You don't know jack about quantum mechanics. An "AU" as you call it, is not the same as an alternate time line. An alternate Universe is a universe that has copies of everyone but made different decisions then you did. An alternate timeline is when you go back and change something. Unlike "AU" when you changed your past and don't correct it, it stays changed. This means that TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager never happened.

  • @TwilightTearsStudio Correction Kid it is you who needs to learn your history and I'm not talking about the BS pushed on you in school. Read the papers kid. “This isn't the Cold War anymore" You’re right it's a WOLD WAR where our enemies could be in our own backyard with a nuclear bomb! We need a positive view of the future more than ever. Name one Star Trek episode that was not about ideas. The show touched on subjects that are no longer taboo like sex, & interracial marriage.

  • @TwilightTearsStudio '....how many times did they go back in time to 20th century earth?" You should first ask what the story was about. All the time travel episodes focused on a subject that could improve man's future, or how one moment in time or an ordinary person can change the future for the better. It was never about the crew's past.

  • I love it! The whole M'Benga/Batman/Spock bit was hilarious!!

  • This movie was worst then Star Trek V! At least Star Trek V had a moral plot and great character building. This is just one stupid imposable thing after another. PS. I Love this Video!

  • Haha I loved the new movie (I didn't know anything about ST before I saw it) but I was laughing so hard during this I couldn't breathe! Excellent work.

  • Nah dude Star Trek V had some dodgy effects for sure. But at least it had a heart and soul...like in that scene with McCoy and his dying father. Nothing moved me like that in the new film

  • exactly you are supposed to be moved when Kirk's dad says I love you just before crashing and then you are supposed to be moved when Uhura kisses Spock but these are cheap tricks and they are absolutely anathema to the original ST which was never sentimental not even when Spock died not to mention the completely unnecessary overuse of special effects again in a blatantly manipulative fashion along with the very poor portrayal of our beloved characters this movie is a big fat bullshit

  • @Jack1981ish In 1987, just after ST IV came out, I commented to a friend that as long as a Trek film focused on Kirk, Spock, and McCoy, "they could spend the whole movie sitting in a rowboat, and it would still be good."

Imagine my surprise when Trek V featured the Big Three sitting around a campfire singing about rowing a boat.

Trek V was a mess, but it is STILL better than ANY of the TNG films, if only because of the Big Three. I miss ya, De.

  • C'mon, it's not that bad! It could be worse... ST V worse ! ! !

  • I can forgive little nit picky things and continuity errors. But a bad story (Spock being sucked through time using something called red matter which we never find out that it is) and bad characterizations, that I really don't like

  • I think you're all chronically mad for not liking Star Trek. I'm just glad there were enough Trekkies out there smart enough to embrace it or else this would have been yet another work of art (YES ART!! WHAT?! YA GONNA SAY SOMETHING, BITCH?!) flying by unappreciated this year. I can deal with that happening to Drag Me To Hell, but not Star Trek - that'll just be wrong.

  • @Raymint 40% of those who went to watch this garbage never saw a ST movie before. Without them this movie would have bombed because of its 150 m budget. Now what do those 40% like: sex and drugs and rock and roll. They go to watch Ironman Transformers X-Men and similar brainless crap. They are the ones who didn't find it absurd when Kirk said "bullshit" and Uhura said "sex with farm animals". For them it's the most natural thing in the world. Quality entertainment my ass!

  • Lol - I live for this shit.

So anyway - I'm a Trekkie, watched them all. I'm even well versed with the sci-fi genre, and films in general. I love films, I've watched tones of them, in fact I'm a student and study this medium to great lengths. For fun. I am not in the least bit surprised by the film's backlash but, lets face it, I AM the sharpest tool in this box so my opinion, whether you like it or not, is as valid as it gets ...

  • The difference between me and you is that I am not a fan boy. I don't have feelings for this franchise so irrational that I'm blind to anything new. You don't know what garbage is if you want put Iron Man in the same league as Transformers. Iron Man was 2/3 a good movie, Transformers just had a rotten heart, plain and simple. Since when was it okay to call the entire movie going public (excluding trekkies) retards?

  • I, a man from the inside, is carrying the flame for this film. So if I myself, with an opinion as educated as it gets, enjoyed Star Trek then what does that say about you're theorem on the film's fans?

  • See? I can be just as far up myself as you can.

    Stick to REAL statistics.

  • you people dont understand jj is new to making a star trek film/tv show giv it a chance

  • and he didn't have time to study the original? he sure managed to butcher everyone from Kirk to Checkov

  • 1:29 just LOVE Scotty reaction. You rock, man, seriously!

  • I actually sorta liked the new movie--but this was still GREAT :D Five Stars!

  • god that movie sucked so hard.

  • brilliant! although i like the new movie and i think others would too if they didn't think about it too much and let themselves enjoy it.

    it's something different, that's all.

  • ah. as long as you don't use your brain and just tell yourself it must be good, it'll be good?

  • Love it brother. Love it. From someone who loathed the movie....LOVE IT! Good work.

  • Excellent! Love it!

  • love it and agree with it 100%

  • "Not totally unexpected."

  • "If the image wasn't so ugly, it would be laughable."

    Perfect analogy!

  • well done! very nice editing!

  • i think he actually said "i'm just dying for you to see it!" ;-P the worthless piece of ... ok, enought of that :-D

  • Great ending! lol

  • LAWL

  • The very end made it.

  • awesome

  • Haha, brilliant. The off camera "oh my" from Sulu was great.

What was it the Abrams cube was saying? I couldn't make it out.

  • abrams cube was saying..I am starting to see it.

  • Did UTubeDweller take down the stolen video yet?

And you're welcome for cluing you in on it. :)
