  • Atheists: You may not agree with what he is saying, but do take note of his respectful tone. This man not only believes it, he lives it. Just because he's actually intelligent, soft spoken, and not an insult-hurling windbag like Hitchens or Dawkins, doesn't make him an idiot or "boring" as the fellow below me asserts. I found his letter to be interesting, interestED (which is important), and genuinely heartfelt. Contrast that with Dawkins' uninhibited propaganda spill. Win for this guy.

  • The difference is that this "real" world is stupendously beautiful, and, for me at least, your pretend world is the hollow one. Belief in Jesus is as meaningful to me as beleif in Zeus is for you. I can be moral without your belief, so why believe? It seems like a fool's errand to me.

  • your just assuming that if you asked dawkins "but even if somthing that is not true has other value, is it worth keeping?" he would not immediately say no.

he DOES say no, and that truth is the most important thing in his eyes. Work out the meaning and comfort and "niceness" from there.

and you only think the world view dawkins puts forward as hollow because your blind to its beauty. after watching these vids i realise youve completely misunderstood the atheistic world view.

  • After listening to this intently, I am quite amazed for two reasons.

    1) The entire escape from reality thing is such a childish fantasy, the world does not change because you wish to believe in something else.

    2) He has proven his point, you cannot be argued with, your faith is your barrier, not matter what he believes or what you believe, you will believe your faith.

Please do not foist your god on anyone.

  • Blah, blah, blah, blah. Jesus fucking christ. Christians really ARE boring.

  • Are you comparing the atheists' world to that fictional underworld? Why? We also have the trees, grass, moon, stars, sky. We appreciate and are in awe of all these beautiful things. I too wouldn't want to live in a world without them either. The fictional 'Aslan', however, I can live without, and so can you.

  • Face it mate - the bible is a crock. It's only by virtue of geography that you are a christian and mindlessly reciting the bible. Had you been born in India you would likely be a Hindu, and hence doomed to hell as an unbeliever (accordin to Christanity) - not very fair huh?

  • @CliveGoldCoast People do not go to Hell for never hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They go to Hell for theft, murder, rape, lying, blaspheming etc. Some sins are certainly worse than others and therefore a mass murdering rapist would receive a worse punishment in Hell than a chewing gum thief. Besides, the fact that some people have never heard the Gospel is the very reason why there are Christian missionaries.

  • 5 stars

  • another worthless video. if us athiests and people of other faiths, and remote tribes and eskimos who the crusades didnt reach are really going to burn in hell for eternity, it would be nice if you people who are 'in the know' could make better efforts to prove it. all i ever hear is 'believe it or else you are off to hell'.

  • Thank you for posting these responses.

    They are really helpful.

    God Bless,

  • Would you of been a Christian if you were born in an Islamic nation?

  • So he'd rather believe a pretty lie rather than the "ugly" truth? Once again I'm saddened for these folks. This is the best they can do?

  • This, simply put, was an excellent response to Richard Dawkins book. I watched all three videos and enjoyed each one of the response videos as he responded very intelligently to the claims made against Christianity, and God Himself, by Dawkins. I see that many didn't view these videos in the same manner of approval as I. No matter, to each their own. Still, I enjoyed them. Bravo!

  • Why is it that everyone 1-stars this video? It's a good reply, and i don't see anyone else having the balls or time to do something for what they believe in.

  • Lots of athiests are doing this. I two starred it because he did an awful job of making his case. Though I suppose he deserves an A for effort.

  • I've given this 5 stars.

Wish I was a good speaker. I'd make videos like this too.

  • Religion is the only force in the Universe that make God sick in the stomach. chech my video for proof

  • The Spirit and character of Christ is obviously working through you. Keep up the good work. For some people there will never be enough evidence. Of course if we had all proof it wouldn't be faith anymore would it. It was Gods plan to reveal himself to those who believe. Dawkins does give proof of one Bible truth and that is, the spirit of antichrist continues to be revealed. He is just a taste of the great blasphemy to come.

  • Its so sad to see that nice intelligent people like this are just as susceptible as anyone to this mind disease. Sad, that so many people can't find beauty in the only life that we'll get, and need to make up Narnia stories to comfort them, and hellfire stories to scare each other with.

  • It's ok mate you can believe in your imaginary friend, we simply think it's pointless to believe in a god that hides from us. and if it makes you feel better to say we'll all pay for not following, HA! yeh right the invisible man in the sky loves me but if I don't kiss his ass he'll punish me. thankyou forgiving lord for all those options!

  • The point made in the C.S. Lewis quote is ridiculous. It appears that the argument is: Christianity is much better than bad old reality - so I'll believe in that instead. Hollow, shallow and pointless this kind of credo consolans belief is just what Dawkins objects to!

  • This important video presents the reason behind the faith of many intelligent people. Beguiled by the best of whatever is the popular myth in their part of the world (e.g. Christianity) they would rather than live in a state of pleasant fantasy than in an apparently cold purposeless reality. This can be a perfectly rational decision, who wouldn't be happier living in Narnia? (Susan was shut out because she lost her faith). In the end the truth matters, even if it doesn't always comfort.

  • Excellent insight. I like that analogy. You have a clue..Thank you!

  • It's so sad to see otherwise very intelligent people become snared in the 'faith trap' type of thinking.

  • Dr. Panter, i don't mean to be rude, because you seem a very kind person, but i wasted 30 min of my life. Do you not understand that if you would have been born in Iran, or Iraq, you wouldn't believe in the bible? It's a truly deep mistery for me that people don't question why their religion is the right one.

  • You fail to understand that true Christianity doesnt come with where you are brought up or the religion of your parents. True Christianity is a relationship with God and the acceptance of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us! This can happen regardless of age, race, nationality whatever. In fact in countries of Iran or Iraq where Christianity is persecuted you find that the Christian faith is thriving.

  • Threatening the scientist with divine judgement?

You were not supposed to lose faith, it is strongly protected against logic.

As for the stars, you can not say that Orion expands or contracts. It consists of stars some of which are closer to Earth than to each other. "the two right-hand stars will approach each other and form a naked-eye double; but the third will drift away eastward so that the band will no longer exist." So, do you call this "expand" or "contract"?
