  • My god! she talks too much....wanted to hear Shat tell the story and all she done was interrupt him. He should have raised her better than that.

  • shatner kicked three muggers' asses? sweet!

  • Legend

  • never get in the way of shatner..no one can defeat him.. dropkick+ axe handle blow

  • Actually, if done right, there is some impact on the target from a dropkick.

It all comes down to the weight of the kicker, multiplied with the speed he's moving at compared to the target (E=0,5*mv^2), and add in the kick at the last fraction of a second if you don't have stiffed leggs. If you move at over 15-20km/t (9-12mph) when you hit the guy, and time your kick right, you can break ribbs and smack him to the floor. The higher you hit, the faster he falls. It's pretty similar to a tackle.

  • A lot of the wrestlers now a days try the Shatner Dropkick but they can't do it better than Bill!

  • great story. i love this channel!

  • Denny Crane !!!

  • @KallumpoAD TJ Hooker

  • @kf932009 both badass :D

  • Hey Mr. Shatner. I was wondering, what was the most memorable episode of Star Trek TOS in your opinion?

  • A younger brain is most often a better working one - my 5 year old shows me up regularly.

  • Dear bill shatner

I am a of yours I was wondering

What you felt as you seen your ship

    Destroyed it's self?

Were you thinking all of your missions

  • I invented Star Trek, they stole it from me.

  • Don't forget Kirk's double-fisted, over head hammer blow. Don't frak with the Shat!

  • YOU CAN SEE THE STUNT DOUBLE'S MUSTACHE

  • Dropkicks can be dangerous to both parties involved in an altercation. The kicker must have intent to do damage to the other person or he will usually end up hurt too. Our sensei taught us to avoid confrontations at all costs, but if you are forced to defend yourself, go all out because the other person will probably not have any hesitation in attempting to harm you. Thanks for the video and story.

  • lol, my friends brother did this in some fight back in the 70's at school!

  • 2:50 Shatner explains physics

  • Shatner is my hero

  • the man in the suspenders is best described as rotund, no?

  • Bill please never stop entertaining us. I watch all things Shatner at least once a day. I. Need. Bill.

  • I like this story when he tells it in his book. What a charming man, I love William Shatner. Although I disagree about the dropkick, I think that would be very effective in real life.

  • this is, by far, the best video on all of youtube. the first portion already made me fall in love and then the headlock thing comes up, and this actually becomes cemented as the best video that i have ever seen.

  • lmao!!! That story was in his autobiograhy!! Sooo funny. :D

  • ...and his daughter is a babe too!

  • @3buffalo13

Melenie is much hotter. Don't believe the haters out there, I met him vacationing in Hawaii last year and he is a very warm and friendly man.

  • Careful of this guy, TheJenn68. He's an emotionally disturbed 41-year-old male from Hilo, Hawaii, with an inclination towards posting sexually obscene or racist comments, usually directed, it seems, at unsuspecting, innocent people. Causing distress to such people may be something he craves. I myself am not so taken in by his apparently innocuous tone here, having read many more of his other comments.

  • @TheJenn76 TheJenn76 probably was unsuccessful in fending off Sulu's gay advances for the blowjobs and Human ButtPlugs. I have to say I do not understand, but there is sorrow in my heart for the poor boogered-up cuckold .

  • Shats a badass

  • It's the SHATATTACK

  • Comment removed

  • I'm picturing these kids getting an ass kicking, while Kirk's action-fight music plays in the background.

  • Anyone who can laugh at themselves is my kind of movie star.

  • Actually Wil, it's been demonstrated in wrestling, and is actually effective. (I just wiki'd it)

You should totally have dropkicked that teenager.

  • It would just be a totally awesome thing to say...

    "William Shatner beat me up."

  • He must have been a hilarious dad!

  • an say elephant never forget LOL

  • The Shatrner dropkick is banned in UFC for it is devastating impact to foe and potential injury to the kicker.

    Shatner rules.

  • @HazMatCFO

it was replaced with the hasselhoff headlock, but that was banned too.

  • @HazMatCFO lol sounds like a chuck norris joke

  • ... i had tha three of you ....

    shatner rulz ^^

  • Without sounding fanboy Shatner is actually the first actor...as a kid....that i wished I could be. I have a degree in performing arts and I just think he is wonderful. He tells stories in such a lovely warm manner.

+ Mr Shatners family are just all great people. Great actor in great shows with a great family

    Great person.

  • That mountain. That mountain.

  • cowboy one...Hummmm thats not willy....lol

  • You guys are great - really loving! Can I come over and hang out one day, one lifetime? :)

  • "I'll dropkick them :D. wait..." HAHAHa i love it.

  • Great new bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter) has Shatner dedication! Bio at amazon!

  • mixed martial artists around the world are taking notes.

  • LOL "There was blood all over the place, but it was mine!" Way too funny!

  • I think the first clip they show is not Shatner, but a double doing the kick on Khan(Ricardo Montalban) in the engine room.

  • I liked when he butt checked the alien deligate in Journey To Babble.

  • O.o

    GO SHATNER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • For a girl she knows alot about wrestling!!

  • Because she knows what a headlock is?

  • JohnnyMastro, that's hilarious! I agree.

  • They are so cute together, man: great father daughter. Complimenti.

  • I was the victim of an armed robbery a few years ago and when the guy was taking me to the back room to tie me up I so wanted to try this. Luckily, I realized I would be killed and thought better of it.

  • he is so cool he wouldve been an amazing teacher, can you imagine, self defense with captain kirk

  • Shatner/Kirk and the other greats are legends, Star Trek is and will never be the same without them

  • Mr. Shatner is one of the ALL TIME favorites in every household. I miss Boson Legal. Sir, do you have any future movie endeavers coming up? Thankyou

  • It would have been really cool if it worked on the guys though! He was just being a good Dad, protecting his kids from some punks. :]

  • That's awesome haha

  • Shatner dropkick and Chuck Norris roundhouse, two most deadly kicks on earth, I'm pretty sure if Norris and Shatner kicked each other, the world would most likely implode.

  • LOL!!!!

  • @JohnnyMastro no no no, when shanter and norris does a dropkick and a roundhouse kick repectively and they both collide the resulting force would make a second big bang replacing this universe.

  • From Brazil- "I love this guy".

  • And SO... I... dropkickedhisscrawny ASS... intonextWEEK.

    Sp-hOck...

  • when I do a kirk dropkick it fucking works beleive me. i wanted to use one in my own sci fi film COSMOSIS (watch it on my channel) but we decided it was to dangeruous for health and safety so we didnt but the fight scene is still fucking intense you can see it in part 2 of COSMOSIS on my channel

  • How do you know if it 'fucking works' if you didn't actually try it at all in your film?

  • shatner's such a lovley storyteller!

  • woo!! kirk beat up some teenagers and made some little girls cry! take that you punks!

  • LOL

  • haha

    Shatner=epic

  • Shatners awesome. In the next star trek movie they should just put him in playing Kirk and then cut chris pine back in and go back and forth and not explain why at all lol but in seriousness I hope theres a part for him in the next ones hell I hope george takei, nimoy, and Nichelle Nichols make an appearance. If only Deforrest Kelly and James Doohan were still around... : (

  • We are aware of the posts made by a certain poster and we think the fans did a great job by blanking out the posts by putting in the downward thumbs,

We believe that everyone has a right to an opinion and we certainly do not wish to censor anyone's beliefs. Unfortunately this person went over the line in her abuse and that's where we stepped in and took action.

That account will no longer be able to post on the WilliamShatner channel. Thanks to all who informed us.

    Paul

  • what does lenny crane know about starfleet?

  • That would be something to tell the grandkids..."I was dropkicked by William Shatner"

  • LOL! awesomeeeee. i would have loved to see you drop kick the kid haha.

    awesome drop kick too btw.

  • William shatner is more famouse than anybody in the world I think...

    Everybody knows who he is..

  • @Dorisequador I think that Leonard Nimoy is more famous, but I also love him more.

Still, Mr. Shatner is AMAZING! Just not as amazing as Mr. Nimoy. :)

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins I totally agree Spock or as we know him Lenard.. Or Leonardo hahah Is a top man and carracter..

  • @Dorisequador I have also heard that he has been called:

    Leroy Nimoy

    Lemon Nimoy

    Leonard Nimsy

    and Leonard Noman.

Am I the only one who thinks thats funny and who thinks that makes his real name even more beautiful.

    Leonard Nimoy *sigh*

  • Mr. Shatner, Bill, you are one of those rare American icons in which you fame as a person, and individual, has surpassed that of your acting career (in many ways). It's a comfort to know you exist in this future era (far removed from the TV Captain Kirk, who is my idol). Thank you.

  • Mr. Shatner is still Canadian I believe...;)

  • You'd have to be pretty lame to get yourself killed by a dead body. Almost as lame as someone who posts spam on Youtube videos.

  • lol!

  • almost

  • Sanity calling Shatner; must not drop-kick children.....

  • Fuck that, that's the problem with kids these days...not enough dropkicking.

  • Lol........

  • hey - check out some WWE programming *GG*

  • I mean real dropkicking. ;)

  • LOL it only works on stuntmen!!!! Shatner is awesome!!!!!

  • I'm so glad he realized that! God that would've been embarrassing!

  • The first Kick is by a stuntman , but in the second it's Shatner.

  • Can anyone else hear the old fight theme in their head during this?

  • Yes! I was thinking that exactly. lol

  • Is it weird that I'd be happy if I got put in a headlock and drop kicked by Shatner? I'd love to say I got in a fight with Kirk! =P

  • Did he lose some weight because he looks a little thinner? For someone who is 78, he looks fantastic! Is it due to him being a vegetarian (not sure if that's true though)? What's his secret, how does he stay so youthful?

His daughter is great. She has a good sense of humor. Keep up the videos, I'm glad I found these, they're very enjoyable! ;-)

  • Headlock? Yes! Bill kicked some ass there for sure!!

  • man i love that guy

  • gotta say by far the best move shatner did was the hammerfist that punch used to knock people flying, im talking serious superhuman strength on the shats part lol great time in the old tos era.

  • Don't mess with The Shat! He makes Chuck Norris look like the wuss he is.

  • Dropkick or the token hammerfist move!

  • william shatner dropkick OR WILLIAM SHATTER DROPKICK!!!!

  • I loved Shatner's signature drop kick. I definitely used it when practicing wrestling during college. It was very popular I have to admit. Thanks Bill. I'm buying the Remastered Episodes on iTunes and they are even better!

  • Bill is such a sweet guy. I'd love to meet and have a coffee with him!

  • at shatnerball (a paintball game) he was a super down to earth dude.

  • lol !

  • Shatner's the man.

  • Captain a drop kick focused in one area is more than enough to stun someone...masses may be equal, but you're focusing on a smaller area...you win! hmm ..surprised you didn't get that. It was the class before phaser modulation mutation! lol

    You're my fav!!!

  • I love Bill's daughter, she's so pretty and funny!

  • Everyone- I remember TV Guide related that story in 1980 or something, when Bill was on the cover. But it was nothing like this real life Hollywood Story. Wow! How cool to find out the truth 29 years later!

  • So which is the most lethal: a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick, a Shatner dropkick, or a Bas Rutten liver shot?

  • I remember watching Star Trek YEARS ago, wishing I was as cool as William Shatner.... I'm 46 now, and STILL wish I was as cool as William Shatner :)

  • This may be one of my favorites of your video shorts. Loved it!

  • I dunno, man. The motorcycle story is pretty amazing, too.

  • the motorcycle story is one of my favs as well... this story comes in a very close second though.

  • Just because I have to-

Drop kicks work by running forward and then jump and slamming into your target like a battering ram. Not as effective as a flying sidekick in most situations, but it applies the most force of any kicking technique. because it's executed while jumping towards your target, you add the speed of your body to the speed of your kick. like throwing a can of mountain dew from a moving car.

    deadly.

although Shatner is not a real martial artist, so he wouldn't need to know this.

  • I'm sorry but the Kirk chop is his signature fighting move. Thwack Thwack! Chops to the clavicles!

  • i once foiled a bank robbery using the kirk missle dropkick.

  • you can almost compare it to chuck norris roundhousekick. not to anger chuck norris i underline almost :S

  • The man is a DON!!

  • You're great Shatner! Just great!

  • Dear Mr. Shatner, how would a fan of yours like myself go about getting an autograph picture? I have no idea on how to do this. Thanks for your time, and you truly are a wonderful actor . Thanks,

    CC

  • Oh that's easy. Just Google "William Shatner Autograph Picture", click on "Images", and there'll be a crapload of them. Just right click "save as" to your heart's content.

    Are you related to Chekov?

  • His tie is made from a SHAMWOW..... ROFL =)

  • Man, where's that Shatner drop-kick when you need it?

    Priceless.

  • i think it's actually "priceLINE"

  • @ squeaky.

    LOL Nice :)

  • Too bad you were not there to tell him what to do, LadyMc.

Your comments are making you look uttely foolish. I would expect an adult your age to know better than to engage in tabloid speculation, but a quick look at your user-page pretty much sums up what you're all about. Purile vigilante gossip... and while I would say that there is a place for people like you in society, I would have to add that this particular venue would not be it.

And reposting your comment won't make it true.

  • Ooops. I meant "utterly".

  • @ LadyMc.

It is easy for people to say what others could have or should have done in a crisis situation. No one actually knows until it happens. And for you to judge when there may or may not be circumstances that the public was made aware of is what makes you look like a fool. Not to mention a hypocrite. If you can't stand replies challenging your position, then don't comment. Perhaps you should call Nancy Grace. I, for one, find you an embarrasment. But by all means, keep ranting.

  • P.S. The space ship was make-believe.

  • My God, are you really saying these things? Fantastic!

Usually one would have to go to a bowling alley for such gifted insight!

Also, thank you for being such an open-minded spokesperson for "anybody in their right mind"! Hilarious!

  • You responded to the wrong poster.

  • It doesn't matter where the idea came from. Evidence isn't a feeling. When you have more than conjecture on what might've happened, we can talk. Until then it's just speculation.

  • Interesting.

  • the shatner dropkick!!! genius!!! he was gonna take out a kid with it?! hysterical!!!

    LEGEND on legs.

  • Say, where IS Melanie Shatner these days? I remember seeing pictures of her on set with Mr. Shatner during Star Trek V. He's a lucky man to be surrounded by a lovely wife and daughters.

  • @ Lady.

Seeing as no one has dignified your question with a response, I will attempt one.

As I recall (and I may be fuzzy on the detail), the man wasn't even home. When he returned, he retrieved her body from the water and began trying to rescusitate her, but she was too far gone.

This is info that you certainly could have looked up yourself, but I suspect that it was a provocation, not facts, that you were looking for. In my opinion, your question was astonishingly inappropriate.

  • @ Lady. My fuzzyness on the details does not invalidate my point. And yes, the fans are aware of all of that conspiracy garbage. Do you purport to be a more competent detective than the actual police that were investigating the incident? Or is this just some personal vendetta in which you don't want to accept the conclusions of the officials involved. Either way, your comments are still in bad taste. You should have simply kept your remarks relevant to the video.

  • @ Lady.

In case you haven't noticed, yes THIS video-where he's relating a humorous anecdote with his daughter.

The fact that you would have made the comments that you did, and then ask why I have a "bad" attitude, when all I did was respond with dispassionate reason and rationality, pretty much indicates that you either have a questionably grip on reality or you simply enjoy inciting arguments. At any rate, I will not dignify your remarks by replying further. Though others probably will.

  • @ Lady

You are a barrel of faeces, that is all

  • God save us from conspiracy theorists.

After blogging on the Web for years, I'm now beginning to understand human nature well enough to figure out why the witch trials and the Inquisition happened.

  • @ Lady McHoldem.

    1) It's seriously pathetic that you troll through comments made ages ago, to continue your misguided attempts to create a stir.

    2) I don't feel the need to repeat myself, so stop replying to me with your bizarro delusions. The case was closed. Go tell "America's Most Wanted".

    3) Your remarks come perilously close to breaching YouTube's Terms Of Service. You may attract the wrong kind of attention if you continue.

  • What the Hell is he wearing?

  • He's bill shatner, he can wear a fucking thong with nipple rings and look good

  • I can't argue with that!

  • Sorry, I realize I mixed pronouns in my last comment.

  • This is great stuff. I'm so glad that there are many actors/entertainers doing this.

I bet it really cuts into the entertainment TV market though.

If I can go on YouTube and see an actor/entertainer that I like talking to me directly, why would I care about seeing a bad picture of them in a tabloid rag?
