i think that anyone that criticized you for the fingertips probably can't do these. not that i'm a pro at these, i just today discovered that i can knock out a few reps. but to my surprise, doing them on fingertips is really not considerably more difficult than doing them on your palms. however, if nothing else, it seems better for the wrists to do them on the fingertips.
Awesome. What does doing Lalanne push ups on fingertips do that's different that doing it flat hand? Are different muscles worked, or does it just strengthen your fingers (and possibly grip) like mad?
@BigGiantOctopus I think he did it just for a show, granted does make it more difficult, but just for your hands and there are much better ways of getting strong hands. It's a way to show you have strong hands but not a great way to train for finger strength, for that I prefer rock climbing.
hey thats really hard stuff, they use to sell a small wheel with handles ,you had to roll it all the way out then bring it back like these pushups, that thing was insane i could never go out all the way.if you can do the wheel that would be even more intense.
@HANDBALLDIEHARD yes the ab wheel is very intense. i can't roll out from my feet but i do sets of 10 pretty easily from my knees, which is a great build up exercise for this push up. yes, the wheel from the feet is far more intense than from the knees and even than the lalanne push up, but the lalanne push up on one arm is very difficult as well. i'm not strong enough to know which is harder since i can't do either...but i imagine that the ab wheel from your feet with 1 arm is harder still.

@f4phantom2500 Yeah I agree, it didn't really feel that much harder on the fingertips.

Really good this time, that guy in the back is watching you, good job. I know I couldn't come close to doing this.

thats really good man, that would be such a good exercise for the arc (or hollow, not sure which) shape! Especially for swinging on rings. good stuff
