@StratusBlue We should have competition in currency just like cell phones, tennis shoes or any other good. We should be free to use whatever we like. No money doesn't have to be gold or silver but that's for the market to decide. That will insure honest banking practices & minimize the severity of the business cycle. A monopoly on currency is much more dangerous than maybe any other that could be ordained by the government. Ron Paul entered politics in the 70's because he foresaw today.

I find it funny that anti-Paul people have to fight so hard to argue against his policies, If he had bad policies they would be easy to argue against would they not? By making our currency of paper, it allows it to be destroyed or created at no expense to WE THE PEOPLE. Hamilton's system gives Congress the ability to expand or contract circulation for the purpose of stabilizing prices. Inflation is the smoking gun.

The "business cycle" is another smoking gun. As Garfield said: whomever controls currency volume controls EVERYTHING and a few at the top MAY IF ALLOWED TO create busts and booms which they profit from via speculation.

@StratusBlue There's nothing wrong with paper currency, as long as it is backed be something of value, that is stable, and a group of people controlling prices is very flawed, a few men cannot possibly have the knowledge necessary for proper prices, or interest rates, etc. The market should decide the prices. With our current monetary system, inflation, booms and busts are all built in inevitably, this wouldn't be the case with sound money that can't be counterfeited.

Congress sets value of OUR currency AGAINST all other things. It is OUR Congress so we have them and they have THAT job of setting exchange rates. Inflation is a failure of Congress to do that job and WE must fire them for being corrupt.

Well, his mimics indicated that he was longing for a glass of water, don't see whats wrong with that. Also of course he's of age, don't look at him - listen to him. It's not about looking presidential, its about being a leader. He's not rambling, he might be one of two candidates who does not prepare for debates by having his staff "drill" him. He speaks his mind and ideology involving data and fact not populism. People voted for Obama bescause he was hip and fresh, look where that took us.
