  • A lowdown hoedown!

  • sheiot, jus back for some mo bleus from rl, gawd, i so love you, may you live on forever, in ma brain/wynn ^5

  • Fans of raw slide guitar blues might like "Rosetta West - Underground."

  • @mielazul i ll check now. But...

  • that is such a nasty riff!!!

  • saw them up close in phoenix -top notch..

  • The drummer is the shit! Groove on!

  • Really goes on! The drummer is great!

  • "Fireman Ring the Bell" is " Rolling and Tumbling"....one verse is different....the rest is the same, with the same music...far as I can tell...Great song either way you slice it.

  • A great toon immaculately done but the vid is frustrating, I want to see more of the other players! Oh well...

  • This song is actually "Fireman Ring the Bell," and drummer Cedric Burnside is his grandson

  • I played it live at my local blues bar. /watch?v=TJ9qDyX6cME

  • saw him live...he tells stories between each song...funny as hell!

  • Incredible.

  • every time i listen to this i remember...never mind

  • PRICELESS.A MILLION THANX

  • notice how at at :33 RL turns the beat around and Ced keeps playing the snare on the downbeat to compensate and flip the beat back around.

  • 1:07 Is that Tom Rothrock ?

  • one of the best bluesmen and so underated! :/

  • @theBigNoseAttack Damn right you are and one of the most underated comments of this vid.

  • what tuning on his guitar does he use?

  • The drummer is his grandson!!!

  • @phlflyers88 On drums, Mr. Cedric Burnside

  • It's easy to see where Zeppelin got their influence

  • I saw Robert Lockwood Jr. at the Edmonton folk fest in '92 and he was amazing, he tricked that Edmonton dirt into thinking it was Mississippi!

the only person taught by Robert Johnson himself...

  • @multidimensional1 Alas you forget Honeyboy Edwards and he is still alive and picking

  • @circlebs1 we rented and watched "Black snake moan" last nite, not a bad movie...RL's sidemen are backing Samuel L Jackson by the end of it. Another deep south jook joint movie is "Honeydripper" with Danny Glover. Keb Mo is in it, as well as Gary Clark jr. who is an excellent blues man...If you've ever seen "Great balls of fire" starring Dennis Quade, there's a cool jook joint scene where Jerry Lee Lewis is a boy sneaking in to watch the happenins...

  • @circlebs1 thanks, I'm gonna listen to some Honeyboy directly

  • @circlebs1 I just watched some Honeyboy Edwards, and read a bit about him on wiki, where it states he traveled with Robert Johnson, but I think Honeyboy already had his own style, whereas Robert Lockwood jr. was the 12 year old son of one of the women Robert Johnson "stayed with". Apparently Robert Johnson helped the boy build a guitar, and showed him how to play it, and I mean, Robert Lockwood Jr. had Robert Johnson down cold...

  • @multidimensional1 Johnny Shines toured with Robert Johnson too. Check him out.

  • @gageman70 Johnny Shines is awesome, I read somewhere that when they traveled together and came into a new town, Robert Johnson would pick the best corner to busk, and tell Johnny to find his own corner down the street!

  • I had a ticket to see R.L. in 1996 at the Town Pump, in Gastown Vancouver, but they were stopped at the border , and weren't allowed into Canada...we gotta rise up against the authorities peoples!

  • @multidimensional1 hahahaaaaaaaaaa..1996 ..those authorities are probably long gone by now. But we can still rise up against the new ones...I got my pitchfork and torch sitting in my closet ...waiting...waiting...wait...zzzzzzzz

  • I hope you are in heaven sittin down

  • lovin the drummer layin it down

  • fishin' fer nothin' blues

  • The drummer is R.L.'s grandson?

  • You're first Algerian fan , i'm sure i am XD

  • the bass and drums are too loud! there needs to be more balanced sound.

  • Search up the RL with Dave Stewart and Robert Palmer. I think the kid @ 3:01 in the yellow-sleeved shirt is the drummer

  • God I LOVE THE BLUES!!!!!!!!!!

  • The drummer has it and keeps it going.....

    Dogs

  • Anyone else think the drummer is super cool...He just fits right in and keeps the beat going

  • @40Rtruss YES absolutely!

  • @40Rtruss the drummer is RL's son, Cedric Burnside

  • @40Rtruss ...The drummer is R.L.'s grandson

  • I've never heard Rollin' and Tumblin' sound like this. It's tight. That drummer's gettin down. I like seeing old R.L. smiling and enjoying himself.

  • @mostlyinhuman,man, i couldnt agree more.this is the real shit.i was blind.

  • This is just too good RL is the shiiiiit

  • This is what they should playing on the radio now a days, instead of Nickleback, Coldplay, U2, and the rest of those hacks.

  • Amen! Today's music has no soul!

  • i seccond that

  • you can all fckin say that again, all the old blues men gave us the best music in the world and died piss broke whils other bands and so on went on to make millions from their legacy..... we could go on.

  • too true... and Im only 16...

  • amen brother!

  • @MostlyInhuman True that!

  • @MostlyInhuman Indeed. Amen to that.

  • @MostlyInhuman

I could live with that so easy

  • @MostlyInhuman exactly what i was thinking. i wished i could've clicked the 'like' buttin a few times more

  • @MostlyInhuman Thats bullshit. I absolutely love this music but that doesn't mean that the music they play now a days is crap. You should broaden your horizon a litle and try to enjoy new talent instead of crying about what you don't hear on the radio.

  • yes it´s open g. so wonderful.

  • Anyone knows the tunning? Open G?

  • Yeah pretty cool blues tune to play on guitar.

  • hahahaha what a dumbass. more skills??? add distortion and you are the riff god! shut up you know nothin´bout the blues...

  • @Metallica97453 ,

Heavy Metal , Classic Rock , British Rock Invasion of the sixties, Jazz, are all Children of the Blues.

  • I would definitely prefer to play the blues than metal anyday. Metal just starts getting old after awhile. And as JImi Hendrix once said, "Blues is easy to play but hard to feel."

  • @Metallica97453 Did your parents have any children with taste?

  • black blues is the best blues.

  • I saw RL for free at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto about 15 years ago. About 30 of us sitting on the grass while RL played acoustic guitar and sang. The best blues show I've ever seen.

  • Is there a album with this kind of versions, not the one with all mixed stuff... ?

  • yes! Try "Mr. Wizard" or even better "Too Bad Jim"

  • the live album burnside on burnside is r. l. at his best

  • @kdwilent too bad jim is a fuckin bomb

  • @kdwilent

the live version is better. in the album the slide sound is not so strong

  • Outside of the poor vocal pick up -The best dam version of that song ever recorded.

The sound of his guitar gets me emotional.

And a LOT of it has to do with the drummer coming up beside him at every bend and turn.

  • Drummer's awsome

  • is the backing guitarist the same that played on samuel jackson's performance of Saggolee in the film Black Snake Moan?
